Abstract

Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, has numerous Muslim organizations that play a significant role in the social and economic lives of its people. This study aims to address the impact of participation in Moslem organizations on social capital in a setting of a country with the biggest Moslem population in the world. A survey of members and non-members of Moslem organization Muhammadiyah in Bandar Lampung City was conducted. The quantitative approach is used to display the data on the degree to which Muhammadiyah Moslem organizations' involvement has impacted the social capital index. The data analysis technique used is propensity score matching (PSM) analysis. The findings demonstrated that members of Muhammadiyah and non-Muhammadiyah had different social capital indices. Additionally, a person's involvement in Muslim groups significantly affects social capital. It suggests that Moslem organizations are not only present to provide religious understanding for their members but also capable of providing added value for them, that is, the addition of social capital for each member. Based on the study, participation in Moslem organizations like Muhammadiyah significantly enhances social capital among members, suggesting that these organizations provide not only religious guidance but also valuable social benefits.

Abstract

A Management of religious tax must be performed by an institution that specially handles the religious tax. That institution is called a religious tax management institution. This institution has a duty that is socialization to the community, collecting and distributing zakat exactly according to Islam teaching which is facilitated by the state dan helped by community religious tax institutions. A Team of researchers is interested to know about the management, distribution, and empowerment of Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) of Samarinda city. The researchers assume that city is potential for zakat development because this city is the capital of East Kalimantan province which is famous which rich natural resources and has a good effect on community prosperity caused by a lot of economic activity paths and a majority of the population in that area is Muslim, therefore a religious tax is in proportion to their income. If an act number 23 ‘2011 about religious tax management could be applicated well, a lot of religious tax will be obtained and it affects the prosperity of a resident evenly. This research is counted as qualitative. Approaching used here is law sociology. A specification of this research is descriptive, and its scheme is a case study. a Kind of data used in this research consists of field data dan library data as a primer and a seconder. BAZNAS is an institution formed by the government, therefor its fund is facilitated by the government, yet a member of BAZNAS of Samarinda city said that it is not suitable for a reality. According to act number 23 ‘2011, BAZNAS forms a religious tax collector unit (or UPZ). Forming this unit is performed in a city government, offices, BUMD, and private company. Religious tax collector units are formed in districts, villages, mosques, and majelis taklim until school. From various religious tax collector units, only 25 units have been registered in BAZNAS of Samarinda city. Something collected in UPZ generally fitrah religious tax, few of religious tax is from a wealth. An arrangement of BAZNAS according to an act number 23 ‘2011 period 2016-2021 is not socialized well among a city government. Socialization and education have not been done in a city hall and in all offices under the city government so that it is not amazing if there is a religious tax collector unit (UPZ) in one of the districts deposits the religious tax to one of the private banks.

Abstract

Sharia Rural Banks in East Java provide essential financial services in compliance with Islamic law, fostering economic growth in rural communities. Assessing their hazard rate, which indicates the probability of bank failure over time, is crucial for understanding their stability and resilience amidst various economic and regulatory challenges. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the susceptibility opportunities of each BPRS. The second objective is to find out the financial ratios that cause it. The financial sustainability measure is a measuring tool to calculate the chance of survival. Financial sustainability approximates the value of Financial Self-Sufficiency (FSS). The population used is BPRS in East Java. The analysis technique used survival analysis and multiple period logit models Research variables that invariably affect the sustainability of BPRS include NPF, ROA, Bank Size, PM, FR, GLP, WoR, and LDR. The study on Sharia Rural Banks (BPRS) in East Java reveals that only about 30% of these banks have a stable financial condition, indicating a low overall sustainability rate. This suggests that the majority of BPRS need to improve their financial health to better support regional economic development and the growth of MSMEs.

Abstract

The trend of the flexing phenomenon, especially on social media, is currently causing various reactions, one of which is the tendency to consume and use various luxury facilities. In consumer behavior, this phenomenon is referred to as Conspicuous Consumption. In today's modern world, it happens not only to upper-class consumers, but also to everyone in the community with various goals, including the goals of acquiring social status, prestige, or wealth. For lower-middle households, of course, this is a problem, so financial planning is needed. This study aims to explore the perspective of Maqasid Sharia in financial planning for Muslim families as a solution to the Conspicuous Consumption phenomenon. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a library research approach. Data were obtained from official reports as well as other literature from journals, books and websites. The results of this study indicate that financial planning based on the Maqasid Sharia hierarchy, namely Dharurriyah, Hajiyyah and Tahsiniyyah can prevent the phenomenon of Conspicuous Consumption in Muslim households. In addition, Islamic consumption which prohibits Israf and aims to achieve Maslahah is a contradiction to Conspicuous Consumption. Good financial planning will ultimately bridge Muslim families to achieve prosperity in this world and the hereafter. The study provides model that can be used to refine existing models and frameworks, thereby enhancing their effectiveness and applicability in real-world scenarios.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought significant changes in social, political, and economic orders at various levels, causing a global recession marked by rising unemployment. The purpose of this study was to find out how big the impact of the covid-19 virus was on the economy of the people in the city of Medan, how did the people of the city of Medan anticipate being able to carry out their lives and how did the Medan city government take action to deal with the covid-19 virus. Data collection and retrieval was carried out by means of field research through observation and interviews with direct companies and obtained from respondents through questionnaires, focus groups, panels and data from the results of direct interviews with researchers with informants and direct observation of the object or company where the author conducted the research and analysed using triangulation technique. The findings show that economic growth which resulted in an almost recession and greatly decreased made all economic activists feel threatened by the spread of the pandemic, because it resulted in limited activities and unusual economic activity. Islamic economics guarantees private ownership but also prioritizes common interests. So that private property can be used to help many people and be of benefit to others. The downturn in the Indonesian people's economy has also resulted in several outlets, or companies causing bankruptcy, and even dismissals have occurred in various companies which have also resulted in unemployment everywhere. The article implies that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly worsened the economic conditions in Medan, resulting in decreased income and increased unemployment, particularly in the MSME sector. This highlights the importance of implementing Sharia economic policies as a solution to enhance the welfare and economic resilience of the community by providing stronger support to the most affected sectors.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the phenomenon of panic buying that hit the whole world at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but studies on panic buying in Islamic economic discourse are still very limited, and no one has linked it to the theory of inflation from an Islamic perspective. Therefore, this study aims to classify panic buying as the cause of inflation from al-Maqrizi's perspective. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature study. The results showed that panic buying can be classified as "human error inflation." Finally, the government must be more agile in preventing panic buying, and individuals must prioritize rationality over being isrof or tabzir. Panic buying has all the criteria that can be used as a reference for classifying human error as inflation. Ultimately, this research provides valuable insights and the implication of that it is important for government to have a policy to be more responsive to avoid things that can trigger panic buying.
