Abstract

The background of this research is students' mistakes in mathematical reasoning on arithmetic sequences and series material in class XI IIS Sma Joseph Khatulistiwa. From the results that have been observed by researchers, one of the causes of student errors in working on the description test questions is the lack of students' mathematical reasoning. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' mathematical reasoning in doing math problems, to explain the barriers to students' mathematical reasoning and to overcome the inhibiting factors of students' mathematical reasoning. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 9 students of Joseph Khatulistiwa High School. The instrument used in this study used a description test of 3 questions for high school students in class XI IPS. There are 3 ways to analyze the data, namely by collecting the results of the description test. Collecting data by connecting students' mathematical reasoning test questions. To find out students' errors using arithmetic sequences and series material. The results of this research test will use indicators from mathematical reasoning, namely: (a) draw a conclusion, (b) determine a pattern. From the test results, it was shown that none of the students could answer correctly. By using the Newman error guide indicator, this means that students have not been able to understand a question and have not been able to think logically

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the ability of mathematical disposition to the material of arithmetic sequences and series in terms of mathematical ability. Where the purpose of learning mathematics contains cognitive aspects seen from problem solving abilities and affective aspects can be seen from mathematical dispositions.This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical disposition for the material of arithmetic sequences and series in terms of the aspect of mathematical ability.The place of implementation in this research is at MAN 1 Sintang with class XI research subjects. The approach used in this study uses a qualitative approach.Data retrieval is carried out by giving a problem-solving ability test question, giving a mathematical disposition questionnaire,and conducted interviews based on the results of the problem-solving ability test questions by each subject. The conclusion from the results of this study is that the students' mathematical dispositions are generally in good criteria

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the ability of the students of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Tebelian for the academic year 2021/2022, the research subjects were 16 students of class X IPA1 semester 2. The data collected was in the form of data on students' ability tests in mathematical communication in solving problems. or solve problems presented in the form of stories by communicating everyday language into mathematical language. The test questions used to measure students' mathematical communication skills consist of 4 essay questions on a two-variable system of linear equations. The test results were then analyzed based on indicators of mathematical communication skills. The results of this study can provide information to teachers about students' mathematical communication skills so that teachers are expected to be able to design learning activities that can improve students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to identify the conceptual and procedural error of eleventh grade students in solving problems in the Applications of Derivatives of Algebraic Functions based on Cognitive Style. The subjects of this research are eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsari. The four selected subjects consist of two field independent students and two field dependent students. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out in three stages, namely the GEFT test, a written test about the description of Mathematics for the application of Algebraic Function Derivatives, and interviews. The result of this study shows that the field independent students committed one conceptual error and four procedural errors with different indicators. Meanwhile the field dependent students committed three conceptual errors and three procedural errors with different indicators. The differences between the field independent and field dependent students error are be able to know based on the error type. The field independent students tend to make procedural errors. Meanwhile the field dependent students tend to make conceptual errors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 21 Mataram in the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest only nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 21 Mataram in the academic year 2021/2022. The samples in this study were grade VIII A and VIII B students who were taken using a cluster random sampling technique. Class VIII A as the experimental class by applying the Think Pair Share type of cooperative learning model while class VIII B as the control class by applying the direct learning model. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet to see the implementation of the learning model used and a test question in the form of a description of 3 questions to see students' mathematical communication skills. The data analysis technique used is t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of tcount> ttable so that the average post-test results of the experimental class students' mathematical communication skills were better than the average post-test results of the control class's mathematical communication skills, this means that h0 where there is an effect of implementing the cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share on the mathematical communication skills of class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Mataram in the academic year 2021/2022.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the differences in the learning achievements of students who are taught using the Discovery Learning learning model with students who are taught using the Power of Two learning model. This type of research is Quasi Eksperiment. Sampling techniques use Probability Sampling by means of Cluster Random Sampling so that class VIII B is obtained as a Discovery Learning class and class VIII C as the Power of two class. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of obervasi and write tests. The data was analyzed using a normality test, a homogeneity test and an independent sample t test. From the results of the study obtained (i) The average cognitive learning outcome (post-test) of class VIII B students with discovery learning model of 79.22 and the average cognitive learning results (post-test) of class VIII C students with the learning model of the Power of Two of 79.11. (ii) there is no significant difference between a student's mathematical learning achievement after being taught using the Dicovery Learning model and the Power of Two.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-efficacy terhadap berpikir kritis matematis, pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis, serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa SMPN 7 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Kota Serang sebanyak 30 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berupa angket dan tes. Validitas butir diuji dengan menggunakan korelasi Product Moment, sedangkan koefisien reliabilitas instrumen diuji dengan menggunakan teknik Alpha Cronbach. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh masing-masing variabel penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi program SPSS 20.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh secara parsial self-efficacy terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh sebesar 16%. (2) tidak terdapat pengaruh secara parsial motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh sebesar 1,1%, (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan secara bersama-sama self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar terhadap berpikir kritis matematis dengan sumbangan pengaruh adalah 20,3% dan sisanya 79,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 206 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-experiment dengan Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah dengan Two Stage Random Sampling menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling dan Simple Random Sampling. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII-E dan VIII-F di SMP Negeri 206 Jakarta. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) berupa 5 soal uraian yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi , diperoleh bahwa dan sehingga , maka ditolak dan nilai Cohen’s Effect Size yang diperoleh sebesar 0,509 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan persentase 69%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif yang signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 206 Jakarta. Abstract

The purposes of this research were to describe mathematical problem-solving ability on number pattern materials based on the level of self-confidence of 8th-grade students at MTsN 3 Mataram in the academic year 2022/2023. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects consisted of 6 students who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. As for the data collection techniques, this research is using three methods, which are questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusions are drawn. The results show that subjects with high self-confidence and moderate self-confidence are able to carry out the stages of understanding the problem, the stages of devising a plan, the stages of carrying out the plan, and the stages of looking back. Meanwhile, subjects with low self-confidence are only able to carry out the stages of understanding the problem.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is a significant relationship between spatial intelligence and the mathematical reasoning ability of class IX MTs Negeri 2 Mataram students in solving geometry problems. This type of research is correlational research. The sample in this study was students of class IX A MTs Negeri 2 Mataram who were taken with purposive sampling techniques. Data collection is carried out using test instruments in the form of description questions about spatial intelligence, reasoning ability, and solving geometric problems. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation tests with a quantitative approach. The results of the data analysis showed: 1) there was a significant relationship between spatial intelligence and solving geometry problems of class IX MTs Negeri 2 Mataram students of 0.366 with a weak relationship category; 2) there is a significant relationship between mathematical reasoning ability to solve geometric problems of class IX MTs Negeri 2 Mataram students of 0.386 with a weak relationship category; 3) there is a significant relationship between spatial intelligence and mathematical reasoning ability of class IX MTs Negeri 2 Mataram students in solving geometric problems of 0.532 with sufficient relationship categories.
