Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media for fraction blocks as learning media for grade 3 students at SDN Kraton 2 Bangkalan, which is expected to improve students' understanding of concepts in mathematics subjects of fraction material that has been explained by the teacher. This research is categorized as development research with reference to Sugiyono's model. The product developed by the researcher is a fraction block media that is well designed and attractive by combining images and texts that are adapted to the level of readiness and maturity of students in their age range. The first test subjects in this development research are expert subjects consisting of learning media experts, learning design experts, and learning material experts. Then, the second is the target test subject. This subject is divided into two, namely the product trial subject which uses 6 students from a total of 37 students of SDN Kraton 2 Bangkalan, and the usage trial subject which uses 31 students from the total students. The data collection techniques used by researchers are using observation instruments, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Questionnaires in this study are divided into 2 types, namely expert validation questionnaires, which are used to determine the validity of fractional block media, and student response questionnaires, which are used to determine the attractiveness of the developed fractional block media. Then, the test is also used to determine the level of student understanding of fraction material after using fraction block media and also to determine the effectiveness of learning media to be developed. The results showed that, on the results of media validity carried out by learning media experts in the category of very valid, design experts and learning materials in the valid category. The results of the effectiveness level of the fraction block media with the category very effective and student learning tests get the effective category. The results of the attractiveness of fraction block media are included in the very interesting category which can be said to be interesting to use in learning.

Abstract

This study analyzes the design of Mahyeldi - Audy's campaign billboard in the 2020 West Sumatra Gubernatorial Election using a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The analysis focuses on visual elements, typography, symbolism, and visual narratives used in the billboard design. The results show that the billboard design successfully combines traditional Minangkabau elements with a vision of modernity, creating a strong visual narrative about leadership rooted in local values yet oriented towards progress. The use of color, typography, and local symbolism demonstrates a deep understanding of the socio-cultural context of West Sumatra. The design's effectiveness lies in its ability to convey complex campaign messages through an easily digestible visual medium while building an emotional connection with voters. However, this design also raises critical questions about gender representation, identity politicization, and the ethics of visual political communication. This study contributes to the understanding of the role of visual communication in shaping political discourse and influencing voter behavior in an increasingly mature era of local democracy.

Abstract

Video production is a stage that requires attention to detail and creativity. The use of appropriate equipment, good lighting, and capturing images from various engaging angles can enhance the visual quality of the video. The aim of this research is to identify the key elements that should be included in a promotional video for Universitas Adzkia to effectively attract prospective students in Padang City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The findings indicate that the promotional video for Universitas Adzkia already demonstrates many positive elements, but some adjustments in format, style, duration, quality, and distribution strategy are necessary to achieve higher effectiveness and optimally attract prospective students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the difficulties students experience when speaking English and the factors that influence students' difficulty speaking English in Fun English tutoring students. This research was conducted on 11 Fun English tutoring students, using qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this research used questionnaires, interviews with students and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research uses data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Testing the validity of the data uses the Triangulation technique. The results of the research show that: The difficulties experienced by students in speaking English are difficulties in using grammar, difficulties in using vocabulary and also difficulties in pronunciation. The factors that cause students to have difficulty speaking English are lack of confidence, lack of mastery of vocabulary and also lack of motivation in speaking English.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of learning models on student learning outcomes at UPTD SDN Berbeluk 1 and 3, Arosbaya Bangkalan sub-district. The method used is a quantitative research method. The type of research used in this research is experimental research using a pre-experimental design type of research with a one group pre test-post test design type. Based on the data processing carried out, it is known that there is an influence of the probing prompting learning method on mathematics learning outcomes in grade 4 students at UPTD SDN Berbeluk 1 and 3, Bangkalan Regency. This is indicated by a significant value of 0.000 > 0.005 so that the hypothesis decision is accepted, which means that there is an influence of providing the probing prompting learning method on mathematics learning outcomes in grade 4 students. Based on the results of research regarding the influence of the Probing prompting learning model on mathematics learning outcomes in grade 4 students at UPTD SD In terms of 1 and 3, Bangkalan district for the 2023-2024 academic year, it can be concluded that the Probing prompting learning model influences the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 4 UPTD SDN students in areas 1 and 3.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the public relations marketing strategies employed by the media planner division in building brand awareness at MNC Channels. In this study, the researcher uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and a constructivist paradigm. The informants in this study are employees of MNC Channels in the media planner division. In this research, the researcher employs the excellence theory. The result of this research is that MNC Channels has successfully implemented a public relations marketing strategy, particularly in building brand awareness aimed at increasing the recognition and presence of the brand, carried out by the media planner division. The public relations marketing strategy employed by the media planning division also encompasses the concept from Thomas L. Harris, which includes the three ways strategy: pull strategy, push strategy, and pass strategy.

Abstract

The Linkedin application is commonly used by job seekers, including fresh graduates. The use of the Linkedin application can make some users do social comparisons, so that they feel anxious. This study aims to test the effect of social comparison on anxiety in facing the world of work in fresh graduate students who use the Linkedin application. The method used is quantitative with a purposive sampling technique, a total of 250 research subjects. The measuring instrument used is an anxiety scale based on aspects of anxiety, while to measure the social comparison variable using the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) scale based on the social comparison dimension. The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed an F value of 31,935 and a significance value of p = 0.000 (p ≤ 0.01) which is very significant. Based on the results of the analysis, the hypothesis is accepted, namely, there is a very significant influence between the influence of social comparison on anxiety in facing the world of work in fresh graduate students who use the Linkedin application with a contribution of 20.5%.

Abstract

In the family can support mental health, especially broken home children, communication between parents and children has many impacts, such as the development of children's emotions, character and attitude formation. The purpose of this study was to determine family communication on the mental health of broken home children. This research, using qualitative methods because the targets taken have the same characteristics, namely the family. Data validity was carried out using data source tringulation techniques. This research has interpersonal messages obtained between parent and child communication. The theory used is S-O-R Theory by conducting interviews with 4 men and 4 women aged 17-25 years old children who experienced broken homes. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, documentation. The results of this study explain that family interpersonal communication in maintaining children's mental health is very influential for children, especially broken home children who experience mental health, because communication between parents and children is needed, therefore the important role of parents is needed so that there is no promiscuity for children.

Abstract

The existence of various temples in Bali as places of worship for Hinduism is very sacred, one of the temples in Bali which is located in Kintamani District is Ulun Danu Batur Temple. This temple is a symbol of cultural acculturation that reflects tolerance between religious believers. Inside Batur Temple there is a Kongco which is a place of Buddhist worship. The existence of this Kongco originates from the marriage of the Balinese King Jaya Pangus to the Chinese Princess, Kang Cing Wie. Thus creating cultural acculturation between Hindu and Buddhist cultures in Bali. The aim of this research is to identify the existence of Kongco in Ulun Danu Batur Temple as a symbol of cultural acculturation and its function in creating tolerance between religious believers in a multicultural country. This type of research is bibliography, the data collected in this research are two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. Data obtained from library research (library research). The data collection technique used by this researcher is library research. The research results showed that through various religious ceremonies involving both religious communities, such as Chinese New Year and Pujawali celebrations, the community shows mutual respect between religious communities as one of the launches of multicultural values in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examined the implementation of Chesterman’s pragmatic strategies in the Indonesian translation of The Tales of the Three Brothers from The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Chesterman’s theory includes 10 pragmatic strategies: cultural filtering, explicitness change, information change, interpersonal change, illocutionary change, coherence change, partial translation, visibility change, transediting, and other pragmatic changes. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method to analyse the strategies applied in the translation. The findings revealed 14 occurrences of three pragmatic strategies. Explicitness change emerged as the most dominant strategy with 11 data, divided into six implicitations and five explicitations. Meanwhile, two data were found from the information change strategy and one data from interpersonal change. This research is hoped to contribute to the field of translation by offering a practical application of Chesterman’s theory to literary translation.
