Abstract

Subtitling strategies is technique that can help the translators to do their job in translating subtitle in the movie. The problem of this research is what subtitling strategies are used in Clash-A-Rama animation season 1 Episode 1,2 and 8? The aim of this research is to find out subtitling strategies used in Clash-A-Rama Animation Season 1 Episode 1, 2 and 8. In order to conduct the research, the researcher used qualitative research method. The researcher used 379 utterances from Clash-A-Rama Animation Season 1 Episode 1, 2 and 8 as the data. The result of the research showed that some of the utterances used more than one subtitling strategy and all of subtitling strategies are found in this research. They are paraphrase (230 data), transfer (122 data), condensation (32 data), imitation (14 data), deletion (14 data), expansion (9 data), dislocation (2 data) resignation (2 data), decimation (1 data) and transcription (1 data).

Abstract

The analysis of this research is the subtitling strategies in Taken movie by using Gottlieb’s subtitling strategies theory. The researcher only analyzed in early 30 minutes out of 93 minutes randomly. The problem of this research is what the subtitle strategies used in the Taken movie are. The objective of this research is to find out the subtitling strategies contained in Taken movie using Gottlieb’s theory. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher found 7 strategies that have a relation with Gottlieb’s theory, namely transfer, paraphrase, condensation, decimation, imitation, resignation, and expansion.

Abstract

The research purpose is to identify the illocutionary acts appeared in BabyMonster’s song entitled “Stuck In The Middle”. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Moreover, Searle (1979) theory about illocutionary acts is applied to analyze the data. The results revealed that there are 42 data found namely Assertive with 26 data, Commissive with 4 data, Directive with 3 data, and Expressive with 9 data. Through the results, it clearly stated that the most used illocutionary acts in the BabyMonster’s song entitled “Stuck In The Middle” is Assertive with 26 data. The result inferred that Assertive, the illocutionary acts used most in the song, expressed that the speaker informed about the speaker’s experiences. Those proposed something that the speaker truly believes in.

Abstract

Technological developments in the modern era are currently increasing and spreading widely. These technological changes also have an impact on the business in Indonesia, including the world of marketing. From brand awareness, sales and transactions, everything has been done digitally. In the Education Sector, some of the problems currently faced by universities are in the marketing process, several marketing methods must be maximized because their benefits are enormous. Choosing the type of advertising, market targeting that does not match the target market (consumers) makes the use of social media marketing work not optimally and goes over budget. Marketing content such as the use of catchy words, promotions, image quality and product information are part of this marketing content. The number of Enrolled students each year will have an impact on University Sustainability. The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of digital marketing, especially social media campaigns in higher education institutions on the New Student Admissions process. A quantitative research approach was used in this research as the method used, through questionnaires as a data collection method. The results of this research show that there is a positive relationship between the variables tested. Based on the results of data analysis, the variables Targeting Socio Economy, Distance and marketing content have a positive effect on digital marketing performance and have a positive effect on University Sustainability. In future research, it is hoped that other researchers will be able to highlight other variables or use different targets such as MSMEs.

Abstract

Grammar is taught to all language learners as one of the components of the English language. This research is conducted to find out the usage of tenses in children’s book entitled Bear’s Magic Moon written by Suzanne Pinner as children start to learn about language. The tenses theory from Betty Schrampfer Azar is used for the classification of the tenses. The method that is used in this research is qualitative research method. As the result, the researcher found that there are 30 data for the simple present tense, 1 data for the simple past tense, and 4 data for the simple future tense. The simple present tense is used in most of the sentences and the simple past tense are the least used in the sentences of the book.

Abstract

The mascot is a creative work created for the West Sumatra Province Archives and Library Service. The mascot with its appeal is expected to be an alternative to increase interest in reading. The mascot design for the West Sumatra Province Archives and Library Service depicts an anatomy book, a deta hat and shoes. Books as bodies Mascots can be interpreted as knowledge. The deta hat on the head is interpreted as a symbol of thought and is also part of the Minangkabau culture. Shoes can be interpreted as meaning that reading is a fun adventure, namely an adventure from one book to another. The method used in creating the Mascot was through observational research methodology, data collection techniques directly within the West Sumatra Archives and Library Service. Documentation, to obtain data from relevant books, journals and images.

Abstract

The main purpose of advertising is to market a product or service so that consumers are influenced to buy the product or service. The advertisement itself in its creation requires high creativity so that it looks attractive. In the advertisement, there are verbal and non-verbal messages. The verbal and non-verbal messages contained in this advertisement can be analyzed using semiotic studies. The object of this study is the Samsung Galaxy x BTS: The Strange Tailor Shop advertisement which is aired on Samsung's Youtube channel. This study used the theory of Charles Sanders Pierce by classifying signs into Icons, Indexes, and Symbols which are then analyzed using qualitative methods. The findings of this research indicate that the icons of the Samsung Galaxy x BTS: The Strange Tailor Shop advertisement are Jin and Jungkook, who are globally renowned boyband members and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 itself, with its premium design. The index refers to the color of the smartphone used in the advertisement, which is Mystic Bronze, creating a premium impression. Meanwhile, the symbol in this advertisement is the Samsung logo, using the distinctive Samsung typeface to convey consistency and a universal visual identity. So, the sign contained in this advertisement shows that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is a premium and global smartphone that provides convenience for its users.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the meaning of the lyrics of the song Alenia by Batas Senja. The lyrics of the song Alenia are the first hit single released by the indie band Batas Senja in 2007. The meaning of the song lyrics is important because it is an expression from the songwriter to the public. The aim of this research is to find out the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Alenia using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. Saussure's semiotics focuses on signifier and signified. The method used to analyze data was a qualitative descriptive method. This method was used because the data are in the form of words. The result of this research showed that the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Alenia is the story of the life journey of someone who fought persistently and never gave up in facing all the trials of life. Besides that, to keep moving forward and not be afraid to always try new things so that it does not just produce a monotonous story. This song encourages listeners to pursue their dreams and aspirations with full determination. This message reminds us not only to dream, but also to act and try to make it happen. Therefore, this song inspires us to keep running to look for new things in life and not stop until our goals are achieved.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching modules in the form of Electronic Modules on flat building materials that are valid, effective and interesting to use in class III SDN Dlambah Dajah 2. This development research uses the 4D model. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Based on the results of the validation of learning media experts, subject matter, language and learning design obtained an average percentage of the overall validity of 87.5% with a very valid category. The effectiveness of the product is seen from teacher activity observations of 92% with a very effective category, observation of student activity of 91.6% with a very effective category, the results of student learning tests obtained an average of 100% so that it is declared effective. The results of attractiveness based on the average teacher response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 92.5% and the student response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 89.75% in the very interesting category. The results showed that the Mathematics E-Module learning media was very valid, effective, and effective to use in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to find out what difficulties students experience when working on fractional number story problems. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects in this research were fifth grade students at Al-Raudlatul Amien Gresik Islamic Elementary School. The researcher took 3 students as subjects who had high, medium and low levels of ability. The data collection process was carried out using interviews and documentation study. This research uses 4 indicators to determine students' difficulties, namely 1) students have difficulty understanding questions, 2) students have difficulty changing word problems into mathematical form, 3) students have difficulty calculating and, 4) students have difficulty writing conclusions or final answers. The results of this study show that subjects with high abilities do not experience difficulty in solving questions. Subjects with moderate abilities experience difficulty when changing the form of mixed fractions to improper fractions. Subjects with low ability have difficulty understanding story problems, have difficulty changing story problems into mathematical form, have difficulty calculating, and have difficulty writing conclusions or final answers
