Abstract

This research aims to examine more deeply the effectiveness of self-management techniques in class VIII students who experience decreased motivation to learn. The data collection method used in this activity is collecting student learning motivation data using the questionnaire method as the main data, then observing and interviewing related parties. Observations are carried out by digging up information and observing students' conditions in classroom learning. From the results of interviews with several teachers and homeroom teachers, several categories of students were selected. Each class is represented by 6 students, namely classes VIII A, VIII B, VIII F. Based on the research results, it is known that students' low learning motivation can be increased after being provided with individual counseling services using Self Management techniques. The average student learning motivation is in the range of 50-60% which is included in the low category. Then, after implementing self-management techniques, there was an increase in learning motivation in the range of 70-85%. So it can be concluded that the application of individual counseling using Self Management techniques can be implemented effectively to increase student learning motivation

Abstract

Mental health is a crucial aspect of individual life, encompassing psychological balance, the ability to cope with pressure, and contributions to the community. The increasing prevalence of mental health disorders, particularly among university students, necessitates effective stress management strategies, one of which is music therapy. This study aims to analyze the relationship between music preferences and the mental health of students in the Islamic Guidance and Counseling program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta using a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. A total of 52 students were selected using the snowball sampling technique, and data were collected through questionnaires measuring stress levels, anxiety, and music preferences. The results indicate that the majority of students experience stress due to academic and social pressures; however, listening to music, particularly calming and uplifting genres, can significantly reduce stress and anxiety while enhancing mental well-being. The findings confirm that music can be an effective strategy for managing student stress, and educational institutions may consider integrating music into student wellness programs.

Abstract

Mothers often experience profound sadness upon learning that their child has Down syndrome. The initial reactions include denial, shock, disbelief, and shame, which can lead to low self-acceptance, such as self-blame and refusal to accept the current situation. This research aims to increase self-acceptance in mothers with children who have Down syndrome through reality counseling (konseling realitas). The research uses a qualitative approach, with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. The reality counseling was conducted over four stages within six weeks. The results of this study indicate that reality counseling can effectively improve self-acceptance in mothers with children who have Down syndrome. This finding suggests that this counseling approach can assist mothers in adapting to their situation and improving their emotional well-being, which ultimately supports better parenting

Abstract

The unemployment rate among university graduates in Indonesia remains a serious issue that impacts economic and social stability. One of the main factors influencing this is the work readiness of graduates. This study aims to analyze the work readiness of awardees of Program X, a professional training program for second- and third-year university students in Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach with univariate analysis. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on a work readiness scale that includes four main aspects: personal characteristics, organizational acumen, work competence, and social intelligence. The findings indicate that most awardees have low work readiness, with significant differences between male and female participants, where males tend to be more prepared than females. These findings highlight the need for improvements in the training methods of Program X, particularly in terms of industry involvement and hands-on training. The implications of this study are expected to serve as a basis for the development of more effective education and job training policies and provide insights for further research on other factors affecting graduate work readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of coping style in early adulthood with emotionally immature parents on the level of self-sabotage. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon observed in individuals who grow up with emotionally immature parents, often facing difficulties in problem-solving and engaging in self-sabotaging behaviors. This study uses a quantitative method with simple linear regression analysis to test the relationship between coping style and self-sabotage. The results show a significant relationship between the two variables, with an internalizing coping style showing a negative correlation and an externalizing coping style showing a positive correlation with self-sabotage. The effect of coping style on Self-sabotage is recorded at twenty-one percent, with the internalizing coping style having a greater impact than the externalizing coping style. This study concludes that coping style plays an important role in shaping Self-sabotage behaviors in early adulthood with emotionally immature parents. It is hoped that this research will serve as a reference for future studies and provide further insights into the relationship between coping style and Self-sabotage in individuals with emotionally immature family backgrounds.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of self-disclosure and gratitude on marital satisfaction among military wives in long-distance marriages (LDM). Long-distance relationships present challenges in communication and emotional intimacy, making marital satisfaction highly dependent on open communication and the ability to appreciate ones partner. This study aims to determine the extent to which self-disclosure and gratitude contribute to marital satisfaction among military wives in Surabaya. This research employs a quantitative correlational approach, involving 350 military wives in long-distance marriages. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, including the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale (EMS) for marital satisfaction, the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) for self-disclosure, and the Gratitude Questionnaire-6 (GQ-6) for gratitude. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influence of each variable on marital satisfaction. The findings indicate that self-disclosure has a positive impact on marital satisfaction. Wives who openly share their thoughts and feelings with their spouses tend to experience greater harmony in their relationships. Gratitude also plays a significant role, as individuals who appreciate their partners are more likely to feel happiness and fulfillment in their marriage. Together, these two variables make a substantial contribution to marital satisfaction among military wives in long-distance marriages. In conclusion, this study highlights that open communication and gratitude are essential factors in maintaining harmony and happiness in long-distance marriages. Therefore, couples in LDM are encouraged to improve open communication and cultivate gratitude to navigate the challenges of their relationship successfully.
