Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the economic drivers that play an important role in the Indonesian economy. One of the common problems faced by MSME players is financial, such as a lack of understanding and awareness of the importance of financial planning and management (Raharjo et al., 2022). Often viewed as a complex concept, financial management is an important driver of growth for MSMEs. By engaging in financial planning and management, MSME owners can clearly understand the financial health of their business over a certain period. However, some MSME players still consider financial management to be scary and insignificant. The community service program (PKM) is a proactive initiative to empower MSMEs, especially those selling areca nut in Entrop Village, Jayapura City, to master finances and utilize financial technology. Program activities, which include knowledge sharing and hands-on training in financial management and the use of financial technology, are designed to equip MSMEs with the tools they need to thrive. The conclusion that can be drawn from the Fintech Application-Based Accounting Recording Training for Papuan Sirih Selling MSMEs in Entrop Village, Jayapura City, is to increase the knowledge and understanding of Papuan Sirih Selling MSMEs to grow and be able to record business finances and support the sustainability of their business well.

Abstract

Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia account for 60% of GDP and employ 116 million individuals. The extensive market share in Indonesia and the significant customer interest in MSME products present potential for diverse entities to develop highly competitive innovative items. The FIM community in Jayapura is an organization comprised of young Papuans dedicated to a social mission in education. In 2023, community members established a commercial venture by producing tote bags featuring Papua motifs and patterns, thereafter offered to friends and family. The sales results were positively accepted by consumers and created new prospects for the FIM community to manufacture other items. Recognizing the deficiencies among community members, including inadequate knowledge of production costs, profit and loss assessments, financial reporting, and the absence of market share awareness, this service initiative aims to improve the comprehension of FIM community members concerning the determination of production costs, recording of financial transactions, calculations of profit and loss, financial reporting, and market share analysis through the application of SWOT analysis and Business Model Canvas. This community service project aims to enable participants to independently compute production costs, document transactions and financial reports, assess business profits and losses, and evaluate market share.

Abstract

Clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations can help diagnose malaria. Several methods, such as molecular-based tests, RDT, and microscopic examination by reading thick and thin blood smears, can be used to diagnose malaria through laboratory tests. RDT is an alternative method for malaria diagnosis that targets Plasmodium antigens. It has been widely used around the world. Public Health students from Cenderawasih University, in collaboration with the Hebeybhulu Yoka Health Center, conducted malaria screening using anamnesis and blood examination methods with RDT. The screening practice started on Tuesday, November 4, 2024, and will continue until November 13, 2024. collecting samples from patients receiving treatment at Puskesmas Hebeybhulu Yoka. Based on the screening results, the biggest risk factor contributing to malaria cases is stagnant water, such as ditches, with 11 positive cases (21.2%). Respondents who tested positive for malaria were 82.7%, with 13.6% testing positive for tertian malaria, 2.5% for tropical malaria, and 1.2% for mixed malaria.

Abstract

The main purpose of this activity to improve access and quality of clean water for the community around the Bibiosi Village Adventist Church, Keerom Regency, through the implementation of a One Health approach that integrates human, environmental, and social health aspects. Bibiosi Village faces serious problems related to limited clean water sources. Most residents still rely on river water and open wells that have high levels of turbidity and are contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms, especially Escherichia coli. This condition causes a high incidence of air-borne diseases such as diarrhea, skin infections, and digestive disorders. Low levels of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), limited infrastructure, and the habit of defecating in the open exacerbate the situation. This community service program uses a participatory approach by involving church congregation members, community leaders, housewives, church youth, and local health workers. The implementation of the activity is divided into four main stages, namely (1) socialization, (2) drilling and making wells, (3) installing air installations, and (4) implementing Reverse Osmosis (RO)-based water treatment technology. From a One Health perspective, this activity emphasizes the importance of the relationship between human, environmental, and animal health. Protection of air sources and waste management are part of an integrated health system. Keywords: health, people, environment, social

Abstract

This activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of small tilapia fish farmers in Koya Timur which independently monitoring pond water quality. Ten farmers participated in the training, which included the presentation of materials on water quality parameters as well as hands-on practice using simple measuring instruments such as pH meters, DO meters, water thermometers, and ammonia–nitrite test kits. The methods used included interactive lectures, equipment demonstrations, field practice, and pre–post tests to evaluate participants knowledge improvement. The results showed a significant increase in participants understanding and technical abilities related to water quality monitoring. Farmers who previously relied solely on visual observation were now able to conduct standardized measurements, record the results in logbooks, and determine corrective actions such as feed adjustments, increased aeration, or partial water replacement. In addition, field practice in the farmers’ ponds provided real-life experience that reinforced their understanding of actual tilapia aquaculture conditions in the Koya Timur area. This activity had a positive impact on increasing farmers’ capacity to maintain water quality stability and prevent fish mortality due to poor water conditions. The training is expected to contribute to sustainable improvement of tilapia fish production in the Muara Tami District and serve as a model for future capacity building programs that can be replicated among other farming groups in the Jayapura region.
