Abstract

Urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra caused by scar tissue ( fibrosis) which leads to obstruction of the urinary tract with potentially serious consequences for the urinary tract. Urethral stricture can cause symptoms of urinary obstruction and irritation that ultimately damage the kidneys. In this writing, the projections used are Anteroposterior (AP) and Right Posterior Oblique (RPO). This research was conducted at RSU Haji Adam Malik Medan in April – July 2021. The type of research used was descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive research is a search for facts with appropriate interpretation . The results of diagnostic examinations provide information about abnormalities in the urinary tract using Digital Radiography (DR) as film processing and Uretrocystography with suspected urethral stricture using a General x-ray unit with a capacity of 300 mA.

Abstract

A couple of childbearing age (PUS) is a married couple who still has the potential to have children or is usually marked by the time when menopause has not yet arrived (menstruation has stopped for the wife). Family planning is a method that helps individuals or married couples to regulate the interval between pregnancies and determine the number of children in the family. This research was conducted to obtain information regarding the reasons why couples of childbearing age do not participate in family planning programs. This research is descriptive in nature. The sample used was 212 EFA taken according to the specified criteria. Data collection was carried out by filling out a questionnaire, then the data was processed and analyzed using the frequency distribution formula. The research results showed that the highest reason for PUS not participating in the Family Planning program was wanting to have children immediately, 68 PUS (24.82%) while the lowest was not being suitable for using family planning, namely 3 PUS (1.1%). From the results of this research, it is recommended to increase education, especially about the types of contraceptives, side effects and complications.

Abstract

In 2019, a respiratory infection outbreak in individuals with a history of vaping was discovered, This condition was eventually termed e-cigarette or vaping product use–associated lung injury (EVALI) after it was linked to lung damage during imaging and histopathologic examination. The exact mechanism behind the lung injury seen in EVALI is unknown. Several studies show that EVALI has been associated with the incidence of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Nowadays, many people use Vapes/e-cigarettes, it is critical for clinicians to understand the hazards of using e-cigarettes, which can induce EVALI to ARDS. We used a number of research resources, including ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Wiley, to search, select, and choose papers about the use of electronic cigarettes or vaping devices associated to lung injury trigger Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome. The literature search yielded 330 articles, of which 21 met the selection criteria based on the title and abstract. EVALI is still a clinical diagnosis that should be considered as an exclusion because the symptoms, physical examination, serologic, radiologic, and bronchoscopy results are not specific to the illness alone. ARDS and its sequelae may be more likely to occur in patients with EVALI who also have several chronic illnesses. For individuals who use excessively and consistently over weeks or months, there is strong correlative evidence suggesting a higher risk of VAPI and potential consequences from ARDS in the absence of prompt and aggressive therapy.

Abstract

Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior and the ability to perform daily activities. Several studies have shown an association between the development of cognitive impairment and dementia with educational attainment, and lifestyle-related risk factors, such as physical activity, tobacco use, unhealthy diet and harmful alcohol use. Furthermore, certain medical conditions are associated with an increased risk of developing dementia, including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity and depression. The ideal cardiovascular health score, also referred to as Life's Simple 7, consists of four behavioral indicators of health, and three biologics. This study aims to determine the relationship between the health of the cardiovascular system and the incidence of dementia at the age of 50-60 years at Teluk Kuantan General Hospital. This research was carried out in an analytical nature using a cross-sectional design, which was conducted at the Teluk Kuantan Regional Hospital, in December 2020 - March 2021 and involved 70 respondents. Data obtained by medical records and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the results of the somer s d correlation test obtained p value = 0.000 (p <0.05) so that there was a significant relationship between cardiovascular system health and the incidence of dementia at the age of 50-60 years. There is a Relationship between the Health of the Cardiovascular System and the Incidence of Dementia at the Age of 50-60 Years.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce anxiety during childbirth include the presence of a companion, such as a husband, biological mother, sibling or female friend of the mother. The presence of a second person or companion or birth attendant can provide comfort during childbirth. The presence of a companion during childbirth can have a positive effect on childbirth, namely reducing morbidity, reducing pain, shortening labor, and reducing the number of operative births including Caesarean section. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to the husband's companion when the mother is facing childbirth at the Tambusai Community Health Center, Rokan Hulu Regency in 2023. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were all husbands of mothers giving birth at the Tambusai Health Center, Rukan Hulu Regency from March - July 2023. The sample in this study was 30 respondents using the total sampling method. The statistical test used is chi-square. The results show that the husband's age is related to the husband's assistance in the mother's birth process with a P value = 0.003 < 0.05. The psychological response of mothers giving birth is anxiety caused by pain during labor and can result in labor lasting a long time. Anxiety and pain in birthing mothers require support from their husbands during labor to provide a sense of security and comfort.

Abstract

The side effects of using anti-gout and anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with hyperuricemia and gouty arthritis are the reason to get alternative, safer herbal medicines. To answer the call from the Indonesian government to explore the natural product potential as treatment modalities against various diseases, we performed an investigation on Limonia acidissima L. fruit. Extraction of the Limonia acidissima L. fruit was carried out by means of maceration using different solvents (n-hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol, and methanol), performed sequentially. Phytoconstituents of each extract were further determined by using Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). The results revealed that L. acidissima fruit is rich with fatty acids including oleic acid, n-hexadecanoic acid, palmitoleic acid, and octadecanoic acid. Several important plant sterols, such as sitosterol, stigmasterol, ergost-5-en-3-ol, (3beta.), were also found in the extract. Updated literature review confirmed the potential of Limonia acidissima L. fruit application as phytomedicine. To conclude, we recommend further investigation on the L. acidissima fruit potentials as antihyperuricemic and antiarthritic therapies

Abstract

Background: The increasing number of elderly service users in nursing homes and the small number of geriatric specialist nurses have made nurses who work in nursing homes vulnerable to burnout. Therefore, it's crucial to develop methods to anticipate and overcome burnout in geriatric nurses, particularly through non-pharmacological approaches. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of sports massage and acupressure on lactic acid levels, physical and psychological fatigue, and nurse performance. Method: A quantitative research was carried out with a quasi-experimental approach. The study population comprised nurses working at the Tresna Wredha Social Institution (TWSI). The sample included 30 participants, selected through a total sampling technique, and divided into three groups. The collected data was analyzed using ANOVA. Results: A total of 30 nurses participated in the study. After receiving the intervention, the sports massage group showed the lowest lactic acid levels at 2.7 mmol/L, the lowest physical fatigue with an average value of 25.0, and the highest performance score with an average value of 135.0. The results of statistical calculations indicate a relationship between sports massage and acupressure with outcomes (lactic acid levels, physical and psychological fatigue, and nurse performance) with a p-value of less than 0.05. Additionally, the Pairwise Comparison test found that sports massage is more effective than acupressure in reducing lactic acid levels and physical and psychological fatigue. Conclusion: The study shows that sports massage and acupressure significantly decrease lactic acid levels and physical/psychological fatigue, and can improve the performance of nurses. Furthermore, sports massage is more effective than acupressure in achieving these outcomes.

Abstract

Introduction: Dysmenorrhea, or pain during menstruation, affects a high percentage of women of reproductive age. It can disrupt learning activities at school, cause a lack of concentration, and lead to frequent absences, ultimately decreasing the quality of life for young women. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of abdominal stretching, yoga, and dysmenorrhea exercises on prostaglandin levels and pain in school-age adolescents. Method: A quasi-experimental study with an experimental laboratory design was used, with pretest and posttest control groups. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with simple random sampling of 32 female students divided into four groups, with three groups receiving abdominal stretching, yoga therapy, and dysmenorrhea exercises, respectively, and one group serving as the control group. Data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA and the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The average prostaglandin levels after treatment were highest in the abdominal stretching group at 31.7 pg/mL and lowest in the dysmenorrhea group at 19.0 pg/mL. The difference in prostaglandin levels was highest in the dysmenorrhea exercise group at 42.5 pg/mL and lowest in the control group at 14.4 pg/mL. Most participants who experienced moderate pain before and after the intervention generally complained of mild pain. Conclusion: The study found a significant effect of abdominal stretching therapy, yoga therapy, and dysmenorrhea exercises on prostaglandin levels and pain. Dysmenorrhea exercises were found to be the most effective therapy in reducing prostaglandin levels and dysmenorrhea pain, compared to abdominal stretching and yoga therapy.
