Abstract

Reading is the process of extracting and understanding the meaning contained in written materials, making it easier to comprehend, one of which is through SQ3R. SQ3R is a highly effective and productive learning strategy that includes five steps: survey, question, reading, recite, and review. The aim of this research is to describe the SQ3R method in reading instruction. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research is that SQ3R was an interesting method that can enhance students' motivation in Reading learning. The student survey stage involved providing reading material about reading, after which the students conduct a survey based on the text. The stage of questioning involves the lecturer guiding students to close the text that has been provided. Then, the students are instructed to create questions based on what they have obtained in the previous stage. In the Reading stage, the lecturer directs the students to read carefully and attentively while paying attention to the questions they have created. The Recite stage tests students' ability to recall answers by asking them to state the questions and answer them without looking at their notes. The review stage requires students to go over important notes and summarize the connections between the main points.

Abstract

This research explores the relevance of Thomas Lickona's concept of character education in the context of Era Society 5.0. This research collects and analyses various relevant literature using a qualitative research method with a library research type. The data obtained includes books, articles, and other literature on character education and Era Society 5.0. The results show that Era Society 5.0, which emphasizes collaboration between technology and humans, requires strengthening moral values to ensure technology positively impacts social life. Thomas Lickona identified three main elements in character education: knowing the good, loving the good, and acting the good. These elements emphasize the importance of moral knowledge, moral feelings, and moral behaviour, which are interconnected and need to be applied in daily life. The implementation of character education in Era Society 5.0 must integrate technology with moral values through a comprehensive approach, involve all elements of society, and create a learning environment that supports the development of good character. This research concludes that Lickona's concept of character education is very relevant and can be applied effectively in Era Society 5.0 to form individuals with strong characters who can utilize technology wisely.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the level of mathematics anxiety of fifth grade students of SDN 6 Singkawang, 2) Describe the level of numeracy literacy of fifth grade students of SDN 6 Singkawang, 3) Describe the relationship between mathematics anxiety and numeracy literacy of fifth grade students of SDN 6 Singkawang. This type of research is quantitative research. The research design uses a correlation design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of SDN 6 Singkawang. The sample used saturated sampling totaling 21 students. Data collection techniques used a mathematics anxiety questionnaire and a numeracy literacy test. Data analysis techniques used descriptive percentage tests and Pearson product moment correlation tests using Excel and SPSS 27. The results of the study showed: 1) students' mathematics anxiety was in the very low category with a percentage of 48%, 2) students' numeracy literacy was in the very low category with an average value of 49, 3) there was no significant relationship between students' mathematics anxiety and numeracy literacy. The correlation value is 0.118 and the correlation coefficient is in the very low category.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe experiential learning in learning activities. David A. Kolb's Learning Theory highlights four keys stages: experience, reflection, abstract concepts, and active experimentation. This research is a library research or literature review, primarily focus on collecting and reviewing various previous studies on Kolb's learning theory. The findings indicate that the four stages of experiential learning models can enhance student engagement, deepen understanding of subject matter better, develop critical and creative skills to face future challenges, and foster collaborative work, and it can be effectively implemented at all levels of education. It can be concluded that learning activities using the experiential learning model can encourage student involvement to achieve maximum learning outcomes, and can be used at all levels of education while still paying attention to elements of relevance of the material and learning environment. However, there are still several shortcomings and challenges in applying this theory, particularly in terms of resource readiness.

Abstract

Language is an effective communication tool to convey ideas and goals. The functions of language include expressive, informational, exploratory, persuasive, and entertaining. Muhadarah is a public speaking exercise that helps students improve their public speaking skills and confidence in conveying Islamic teachings. The benefits of muhadarah include improved Arabic language ability, self-confidence, speaking skills, and book comprehension. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods to describe, explain, and validate phenomena. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was checked through Source Triangulation and Technique Triangulation, with data analysis through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. At SMP Muhammadiyah Sukaramai, muhadarah is held regularly every Monday to Friday after Asr prayer. This activity involves all students from grades 7 to 9, with students advancing in turn. The activity begins with an opening by the teacher, followed by the delivery of material by students, and ends with an assessment by the teacher. The language used is Indonesian, and students are free to choose a theme. The purpose of this activity is to train public speaking and increase students' self-confidence. Implementation involves making a schedule, assessment, and using mats as a base. In the implementation of the memorization method, in the form of texts that have been memorized, so that the repetition of memorization is not a problem.

Abstract

This article will discuss how the audiolingual method is used to teach maharah kalam. In maharah kalam learning, only a few students can express their thoughts orally, to overcome this problem the teacher can apply the audiolingual method. This research method uses qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The aim of this research is to find out how female students at the Ar-raudhatul Hasanah Islamic boarding school use a hearing-speech approach in learning Arabic. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the listening-to-speech method or audiolingual method is an effective method used at the Ar-Raudhatul Hasanah Islamic Boarding School, although there are still some students who have difficulty memorizing Arabic vocabulary due to internal problems. The audio-lingual method in Islamic boarding schools emphasizes language mastery through direct listening and speaking, so it is effective for improving speaking and listening skills quickly. It is easier for female students to internalize pronunciation, intonation and vocabulary, and relate language use to everyday situations, strengthening their understanding.

Abstract

The means of implementing cadre formation carried out in an organization are very important for cadres who want to know and understand more deeply about the organization. The researcher is trying to find out the model of cadre education carried out at MTs Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya in the context of implementing Muhammadiyah Student Association cadre formation which is carried out for students at MTS Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya. The type of research carried out is qualitative research using field research methods (field research) in which data collection is carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. It was found that the cadre education model implemented at MTs Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya included MABICA as a pre-cadre activity and after the implementation of MABICA the cadres could proceed to the first cadre stage, namely PKTM I.

Abstract

Studying the subject of religious tolerance is always fascinating. This research holds a significant place in the field of religion studies because to the fluctuations in relationships between religious groups throughout different regions of the world, including Indonesia. Numerous Islamic scholars, particularly those who study tafsir, attempt to define tolerance normatively by drawing on passages from the Quran. Wahbah al-Zuhayli is a modern scholar who takes tolerance very seriously. Al-Zuhayli's interpretation, while methodologically sound, generally adopts the methodology of ancient ulama literature. But the issue of tolerance that he highlights stems from the social reality that religious communities currently inhabit. Al-Zuhayli opens his discussion on tolerance by elucidating the notion of wasatiyyah al-Islam, or Islamic moderation. Al-Zuhayli then categorized the four primary themes of tolerance found in the Koran. First, the interactions amongst the Samawi faiths. Forming a moderate and tolerant mindset is made possible by the heavenly religion's shared core doctrines. The second is the freedom to select one's religion. This point demonstrates how Islamic law upholds the Ri'ayah al-Din concept. The third is the ban on inciting hate. Fourth, the advice to put justice first and the outlawing of acts of terror. Each and every person is entitled to protection for their soul's freedom. According to Al-Zuhayli's perspective, religious groups generally get along well and are tolerant of one another. This is also a scientific refutation of the violent ideologies that radical organizations frequently advance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies applied by tahfidz teachers in increasing interest in memorization among 8th grade MTS students at the Islamic Centre Foundation of North Sumatra. In addition, this study also wants to identify the factors that support and hinder the strategy. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that one of the strategies used by tahfidz teachers to increase interest in memorization is by applying the tasmi' method. As for this research, there are supporting factors in increasing students' interest in memorizing, which consist of internal and external factors. Internal supporting factors come from oneself, namely the spirit of memorization and a strong will, besides that, external factors consist of the home and school environment, such as support from parents and motivation from teachers. As for the inhibiting factors for each student, most of the students themselves experience fatigue and often feel bored. In addition, teachers also conduct learning evaluations which are carried out every day

Abstract

The application of free drawing to improve children's creativity in Harapan Bunda Sungai Talang PAUD Kindergarten is very beneficial for children and teachers because it can improve children's creativity, improving children's creativity in Harapan Bunda Sungai Talang PAUD Kindergarten shows good and satisfying results, this is evident from the total number of children who participated in the free drawing activity, which was 100% (14 children) and through free drawing activities it can be seen that children have good creativity skills, and can be seen from the way children use tools and the way children express their imagination in these activities. In addition, children have a great curiosity, have a sense of beauty, and children are free to express their opinions in free drawing activities.
