Abstract

Early childhood development is a critical phase shaping a child's future, making monitoring their progress essential to identify developmental concerns. However, many early childhood educators (PAUD teachers) face significant barriers to performing accurate and timely screenings due to limited tools and knowledge. This research investigates the effectiveness of the Pinki app, a digital tool designed to streamline and enhance the process of child development screening in early childhood education settings. The study involved a group of PAUD teachers trained to use the Pinki app to assess children's cognitive, motor, and social-emotional development. The research aimed to evaluate the impact of the app on the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of developmental screenings. Data was collected through pre- and post-training surveys, interviews with teachers, and analysis of the screening results generated by the app. The findings significantly improved teachers' ability to conduct systematic, data-driven assessments. 85% of teachers reported enhanced confidence in their ability to identify developmental issues early, and 78% noted that the app helped them save time while increasing the accuracy of their evaluations. Furthermore, the Pinki app enabled early intervention strategies by providing clear, objective data on children's development, contributing to more effective support for children with developmental delays. Despite challenges such as limited resources and occasional connectivity issues, the study demonstrated that integrating digital tools like the Pinki app can transform early childhood education by enhancing the quality of developmental monitoring and fostering better educational outcomes. This research highlights the potential for technology-driven interventions to address gaps in early childhood education and improve long-term developmental outcomes for children.

Abstract

Mental disorders often bring significant cognitive impairments, which can hinder daily functioning and the overall quality of life. This research explores the effectiveness of using Snakes and Ladders and crossword puzzles as cognitive therapy tools for individuals with mental disorders. These games, although simple, engage various cognitive processes such as memory, attention, problem-solving, and logical thinking. The study employed a pre-and post-intervention design to assess the cognitive improvements in participants who engaged in structured game-based therapy over several weeks. Before the intervention, cognitive function was evaluated using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), showing signs of cognitive impairment in most participants; after the therapy sessions, which included regular play of Snakes and Ladders and crossword puzzles, a significant improvement was observed in participants' cognitive abilities, with average MoCA scores rising from 18 to 22. This improvement reflected better short-term memory, concentration, and problem-solving skills. The games also fostered increased social interaction and collaboration among participants, contributing to emotional well-being and reducing anxiety. The results highlighted decreased stress and anxiety, as participants reported feeling more relaxed and engaged after several sessions. The study concludes that cognitive therapy based on simple, accessible games like Snakes and Ladders and crossword puzzles can effectively enhance cognitive function, reduce anxiety, and improve social skills in people with mental disorders. The findings suggest that such game-based therapy could be a valuable, low-cost alternative to traditional cognitive remediation therapies in community settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of short-form video content consumption on adolescents’ cognitive health, particularly focusing on symptoms of brain fog and attention disorders. Conducted through a quantitative survey involving adolescents aged 16 to 21, the research measured daily usage of TikTok and Instagram Reels and its correlation with self-reported cognitive symptoms. The results indicate a strong positive association between excessive use of these platforms and the prevalence of focus problems and mental fatigue. Interestingly, adolescents with moderate usage reported fewer cognitive complaints, suggesting that limited exposure may offer a form of cognitive stimulation. These findings support existing concerns about digital media overload while also proposing a new perspective through the "Optimal Digital Stimulation" theory. The study highlights the importance of digital balance and offers implications for educational interventions and policy development aimed at promoting healthy media consumption among youth.
