Abstract

This article aims to examine the implementation of reading corners in elementary schools and their impact on increasing literacy skills. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing twelve relevant scientific articles published in the last five years. The review process was conducted thru five stages: problem identification, setting inclusion and exclusion criteria, searching for articles using the keywords "reading corner," "reading corner," and "elementary literacy," data extraction, and thematic analysis. The study results show that reading corners have a significant positive impact on the cognitive, affective, and social aspects of students. The improvement in text comprehension skills, the growth of reading motivation, and the creation of a literacy culture in the school environment are the main benefits of an optimally managed reading corner. In addition, the role of teachers as literacy facilitators has proven to be very important in directing the effectiveness of the reading corner. Thus, the reading corner is not just a decorative element in the classroom, but a literacy strategy with great potential to cultivate a love for reading and improve the overall quality of primary education. Keywords: literacy; reading interest; students; reading corner, Abstrak Artikel ini akan mengkaji implementasi reading corner (reading corner) di sekolah dasar serta dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kemampuan literasi peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menganalisis dua belas artikel ilmiah yang relevan dan dipublikasikan dalam lima tahun terakhir. Proses kajian dilakukan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu identifikasi masalah, penetapan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, pencarian artikel menggunakan kata kunci “reading corner”, “reading corner”, dan “elementary literacy”, ekstraksi data, serta analisis tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa reading corner memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan dalam aspek kognitif, afektif, dan sosial peserta didik. Peningkatan kemampuan memahami teks, tumbuhnya motivasi membaca, serta terciptanya budaya literasi di lingkungan sekolah menjadi manfaat utama dari reading corner yang dikelola secara optimal. Selain itu, peran guru sebagai fasilitator literasi terbukti sangat penting dalam mengarahkan efektivitas reading corner. Dengan demikian, reading corner bukan sekadar elemen dekoratif dalam kelas, melainkan strategi literasi yang memiliki potensi besar dalam membentuk karakter gemar membaca dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dasar secara menyeluruh. Abstract

This article describes the forms of code-mixing and the social factors underlying them. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data source consisted of dialogues between characters. Data collection was conducted through listening and note-taking, while data analysis employed a matching method with a sorting technique. The results of the study indicate that code-mixing in the film “Capciptop” occurs naturally in informal speech situations. Javanese serves as the primary code, while Indonesian and foreign languages ​​are interspersed in the form of words and phrases. The resulting code-mixing is influenced by several social factors, including the closeness of the relationships between characters, the context of the speech situation, the speaker's generational background, and the influence of modern culture and digital technology. Functionally, code-mixing in the film serves as a marker of cultural identity, an expressive medium, and a pragmatic strategy in communication. Abstrak Artikel ini   mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk campur kode serta faktor sosial yang melatarbelakanginya. Penelitian  menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berupa dialog antartokoh. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik simak dan catat, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan metode padan dengan teknik pilah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campur kode dalam film “Capciptop” terjadi secara alami dalam situasi tutur yang bersifat informal. Bahasa Jawa berperan sebagai kode utama, sementara bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa asing disisipkan dalam bentuk kata dan frasa. Campur kode yang muncul dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor sosial, antara lain kedekatan hubungan antartokoh, konteks situasi tutur, latar generasi penutur, serta pengaruh budaya modern dan teknologi digital. Secara fungsional, campur kode dalam film berperan sebagai penanda identitas budaya, sarana ekspresif, serta strategi pragmatik dalam komunikasi.

Abstract

This article describes the illocutionary speech acts in the dialogue of the short film Topi Tindak Tanduk Subasita on the Paniradya Kaistimewan YouTube channel. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data sources in the form of speech between characters in the film. Data were collected through the listening and note-taking method, then analyzed by identifying the types of illocutionary speech acts based on the context of the speech situation. The results show that the dialogue in the film contains various types of illocutionary speech acts, including assertive, directive, expressive, and commissive. These speech acts function to build social interactions between characters, clarify social relations, and move the film's storyline. Abstrak Artikel ini mendeskripsikan tindak tutur ilokusi dalam dialog film pendek Topi Tindak Tanduk Subasita di kanal YouTube Paniradya Kaistimewan. Penelitian  menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa tuturan antartokoh dalam film. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode simak dan catat, kemudian dianalisis dengan mengidentifikasi jenis tindak tutur ilokusi berdasarkan konteks situasi tutur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dialog dalam film mengandung berbagai jenis tindak tutur ilokusi, meliputi asertif, direktif, ekspresif, dan komisif. Tindak tutur tersebut berfungsi membangun interaksi sosial antartokoh, memperjelas relasi sosial, serta menggerakkan alur cerita film.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the forms of code-switching and code-mixing and to analyze their use as language strategies in the YouTube channel Ueno Family Japan. A qualitative descriptive method was employed through video observation and detailed utterance recording. The findings reveal that code-switching and code-mixing are consciously used to adapt language for the audience, assert the family’s multicultural identity, foster emotional closeness, and enhance communication effectiveness. Code-switching mainly occurs inter-sententially and via tag insertions, while code-mixing appears as foreign words inserted into Indonesian sentences. These findings suggest that code-switching and code-mixing are not merely linguistic phenomena but functional and adaptive communicative strategies in multilingual family interactions on digital platforms.

Abstract

This article describes the form, implementation, values of local wisdom, and efforts to preserve the Sadranan tradition in Kalisari Village, Rowokele District, Kebumen Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a folklore study based on Alan Dundes' theory. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with village heads, hamlet heads, traditional leaders, and community members, as well as documentation of Sadranan activities. The results of the study indicate that the Sadranan tradition in Kalisari Village is a folklore that is still practiced in society, encompassing oral, partly oral, and non-verbal folklore. The implementation of this tradition includes communal prayer, tahlil (religious remembrance), pilgrimage, kenduri (celebration), and communal eating as a form of respect for ancestors and an expression of gratitude to God Almighty. The values of local wisdom contained in the Sadranan tradition include religious values, togetherness, mutual cooperation, social solidarity, respect for ancestors, and preservation of tradition. Efforts to preserve the tradition are carried out through hereditary inheritance, active involvement of the community across generations, and the role of village officials in organizing activities. Even though there are changes in the form of implementation due to developments in people's lifestyles, the essence and socio-cultural function of the Sadranan tradition remains intact.. Abstrak: Artikel ini mendeskripsikan bentuk, pelaksanaan, nilai-nilai kearifan lokal, serta upaya pelestarian tradisi Sadranan di Desa Kalisari, Kecamatan Rowokele, Kabupaten Kebumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan kajian folklor berdasarkan teori Alan Dundes. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala desa, kepala dusun, tokoh adat, dan masyarakat, serta dokumentasi kegiatan Sadranan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Sadranan di Desa Kalisari merupakan folklor yang masih dipraktikkan dalam masyakarat yang mencakup folklor lisan, sebagian lisan, dan nonlisan. Pelaksanaan tradisi ini meliputi doa bersama, tahlil, ziarah, kenduri, dan makan bersama sebagai wujud penghormatan kepada leluhur dan ungkapan rasa syukur kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam tradisi Sadranan meliputi nilai religius, kebersamaan, gotong royong, solidaritas sosial, penghormatan terhadap leluhur, dan pelestarian tradisi. Upaya pelestarian tradisi dilakukan melalui pewarisan turun-temurun, keterlibatan aktif masyarakat lintas generasi, serta peran perangkat desa dalam pengorganisasian kegiatan. Meskipun terdapat perubahan dalam bentuk pelaksanaan akibat perkembangan gaya hidup masyarakat, esensi dan fungsi sosial-budaya tradisi Sadranan tetap terjaga

Abstract

This article describes the character education values in the book " Cerita untuk Bumi" published by WWF Indonesia (2025) based on Thomas Lickona's perspective, and explains the role of the story's intrinsic elements in supporting the internalization of these values. The study used a qualitative approach with text analysis methods. Data in the form of narratives, dialogues, and descriptions of events were selected purposively, then analyzed using content analysis techniques based on the categories of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The results show that the character values of environmental care are represented systematically and hierarchically through the story structure. The moral knowing dimension is evident in the presentation of environmental issues, moral feeling emerges through conflicts and the characters' emotional responses, while moral action is the most dominant component manifested in concrete actions to protect the environment. These findings indicate that the book is not only recreational but also effective as a medium for character education literacy based on ecological issues.. Abstrak: Artikel ini mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam buku “Cerita untuk Bumi” terbitan WWF Indonesia (2025) berdasarkan perspektif Thomas Lickona, serta menjelaskan peran unsur intrinsik cerita dalam mendukung proses internalisasi nilai tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis teks. Data berupa narasi, dialog, dan deskripsi peristiwa yang dipilih secara purposif, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis konten berdasarkan kategori moral knowing, moral feeling, dan moral action. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai karakter peduli lingkungan direpresentasikan secara sistematis dan berjenjang melalui struktur cerita. Dimensi moral knowing tampak pada penyajian masalah lingkungan, moral feeling muncul melalui konflik dan respons emosional tokoh, sedangkan moral action menjadi komponen paling dominan yang diwujudkan dalam tindakan konkret menjaga lingkungan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa buku tersebut tidak hanya bersifat rekreatif, tetapi juga efektif sebagai media literasi pendidikan karakter berbasis isu ekologis

Abstract

Children’s storybooks play an important role in instilling character and educational values. One essential value that should be introduced early is environmental awareness. This study aims to analyze the representation of environmental awareness values in the children’s storybook "Balapan Sampah" (Trash Race). The research employed a qualitative approach using content analysis of the story text. The data consisted of words, phrases, sentences, character dialogues, and events reflecting environmental awareness values. Data were analyzed through close reading, data reduction, categorization, and meaning interpretation based on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation. The findings show that the story represents several environmental awareness values, including maintaining environmental cleanliness, disposing of waste properly, managing waste responsibly, and cooperating to protect the environment. These values are conveyed implicitly through characters’ actions, dialogues, and plot events. The study concludes that "Balapan Sampah" has strong potential as a children’s literary learning medium for fostering environmental awareness and character development from an early age. Abstrak: Buku cerita anak memiliki peran penting dalam menanamkan nilai karakter dan edukatif. Salah satu nilai penting yang perlu diperkenalkan sejak dini ialah kepedulian lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis representasi nilai kepedulian lingkungan dalam buku cerita anak ”Balapan Sampah”. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi terhadap teks cerita. Data berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, dialog tokoh, dan peristiwa yang memuat nilai kepedulian lingkungan. Analisis dilakukan melalui pembacaan menyeluruh, reduksi data, pengelompokan, dan penafsiran makna dengan perspektif teori representasi Stuart Hall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita ini merepresentasikan nilai menjaga kebersihan lingkungan, membuang sampah pada tempatnya, mengelola sampah dengan baik, serta bekerja sama menjaga lingkungan. Nilai-nilai tersebut disampaikan secara implisit melalui tindakan tokoh, dialog, dan alur cerita. Buku ”Balapan Sampah” berpotensi menjadi media pembelajaran sastra anak untuk menanamkan kepedulian lingkungan dan membentuk karakter sejak dini pada anak

Abstract

This article describes the development of Flipscrap Book learning media for poetry material in grade X of high school. The research method used is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model development research. The research subjects consisted of 3 material experts, 3 media experts, and 31 students in grade X-8. Data were collected through interviews, expert validation, and questionnaires. The results of the study concluded that the development of digital-based Flipscrap Book media was very feasible with a score of 92.77% (material expert validation), a score of 94.57% (media expert validation) with a very feasible category. The results of the student response questionnaire were very effective with an average score of 95.42%. Abstrak Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pengembangan media pembelajaran Flipscrap Book materi puisi di kelas X SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Subjek peneliti terdiri dari 3 ahli materi, 3 ahli media, dan 31 peserta didik kelas X-8. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara, validasi ahli, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media Flipscrap Book berbasis digital sangat layak dengan memperoleh skor 92,77% (validasi ahli materi),  skor 94,57% (validasi ahli media) dengan katerogi sangat layak. Hasil angket respon peserta didik sangat efektif dengan skor rata-rata  95,42%.

Abstract

This article describes the use of an abusive language in gaming content produced by Silvan Vannes as a gaming YouTuber and its reproduction in Generation Z's digital communication. The study uses a sociolinguistic approach with descriptive qualitative methods. The research data consists of 20 utterances containing offensive language. The data were analyzed using taboo domain classifications including sexual taboos, body parts, animals, activities, and emotional expressions, as well as pragmatics. The results show that an abusive language in gaming YouTuber content functions not only as an expression of anger or annoyance, but also as an entertainment strategy, emotional expression, digital identity, and a marker of solidarity within the gaming community. In addition, some words experience changes in meaning through the processes of euphemism, amelioration, and pejoration, demonstrating the flexibility of meaning in digital communication. These forms of an abusive language are then reproduced by Generation Z in their online interactions across various digital communication platforms, thus shaping their language style and interaction patterns within the virtual community.. Abstrak Artike ini mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahasa kasar dalam konten gim yang diproduksi oleh Silvan Vannes sebagai You Tuber gaming serta reproduksinya dalam komunikasi digital Generasi Z. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian berupa 20 tuturan yang mengandung bahasa kasar. Data dianalisis menggunakan klasifikasi domain tabu meliputi tabu seksual, bagian tubuh, binatang, aktivitas, dan ekspresi emosional, serta pragmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa kasar dalam konten YouTuber gim tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ekspresi kemarahan atau kekesalan, tetapi juga sebagai strategi hiburan, ekspresi emosi, identitas digital, dan penanda solidaritas dalam komunitas gamer. Selain itu, beberapa kata mengalami perubahan makna melalui proses eufemisme, ameliorasi, dan peyorasi yang menunjukkan fleksibilitas makna dalam komunikasi digital. Bentuk bahasa kasar tersebut kemudian direproduksi oleh Generasi Z dalam interaksi daring mereka di berbagai platform komunikasi digital sehingga membentuk gaya bahasa dan pola interaksi dalam komunitas virtual.
