Abstract

The role of Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) in Indonesia has evolved, particularly following the Constitutional Court Decision Number 15/PUU-XIX/2021, which expanded their authority in money laundering investigations. This study aims to analyze the impact of this decision on the position and authority of PPNS within the integrated criminal justice system. Using a normative legal approach, the research employs primary data from the Constitutional Court s ruling and secondary data from legal literature and relevant media sources. The findings indicate that the Constitutional Court s decision not only enhances the investigative powers of PPNS but also aligns them with other law enforcement agencies, such as the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission. Despite this expansion, the study highlights ongoing challenges, particularly the dependency of PPNS on police investigators during the prosecution process. The relationship between PPNS and other law enforcement officials is crucial for effective law enforcement and the prevention of money laundering crimes. The study concludes that the broadened authority of PPNS should be viewed as a collaborative effort rather than competition, emphasizing the importance of coordination among agencies to strengthen law enforcement efforts in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research addresses the role of Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyers in patent registration and prosecution, particularly in the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) context. In a complex research and development environment, an understanding of the risk of patent imitation is essential. This study aims to analyze the strategy of international patent registration through the PCT system and evaluate its effectiveness compared to national patent registration in Indonesia. This research uses a normative legal approach by analyzing the literature and practical aspects relating to international patent registration through the PCT system. The research findings show that Intellectual Property Lawyers need to have in-depth knowledge of the national and international patent registration systems. The research also highlights the challenges for inventors with limited budgets in choosing between national Patent and PCT registration, as well as the importance of strategic planning in registration to protect innovation. This research underscores the important role of IP Attorneys in assisting inventors through the patent registration process, both nationally and internationally, and emphasizes that the PCT system is a viable option to effectively protect innovation while managing costs.

Abstract

Online gender-based violence is a serious problem that negatively impacts victims physically, psychologically and socially. This research aims to analyze the legal protection of victims of cyber-based violence in Indonesia, focusing on existing regulations and their implementation. The method used in this research is a normative research method with a juridical-analytical approach, where data is collected through a literature study of relevant laws and regulations, legal documents, and previous research related to online gender-based violence. The results show that Law No. 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence provides a strong legal basis for victim protection, including the right to assistance, temporary protection, and recovery. In addition, regulations regarding the removal of content involving victims are an important step in reducing further impact. However, this research also found challenges in law enforcement, public awareness, and training of law enforcement officers that need to be strengthened in order for victim protection to be implemented effectively. This research is expected to contribute to improving the understanding and effectiveness of legal protection for victims of online gender-based violence in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rise of digital technology has significantly affected the mental health of late adolescents, particularly through issues like cyberbullying and loneliness, which can adversely affect their academic motivation. Understanding the factors that contribute to academic success is crucial in addressing these challenges. This study aims to examine the role of emotional intelligence as a predictive factor for academic motivation among late adolescents in higher education. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing an online questionnaire distributed to 250 college students. Data were analyzed using linear regression to assess the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic motivation. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and academic motivation, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.301. This indicates that emotional intelligence accounts for approximately 30.1% of the variance in academic motivation. The study concludes that higher emotional intelligence is associated with increased academic motivation among late adolescents. These findings underscore the importance of fostering emotional intelligence in educational settings to enhance student motivation and overall academic performance.

Abstract

Loneliness is an experience that can have far-reaching effects on individuals, especially adolescents, who are in an important developmental phase. Subjective well-being, which includes positive emotions, life satisfaction, and emotional experiences, is an important indicator in assessing adolescents' mental health. This study aims to explore the role of loneliness in influencing subjective well-being in adolescents. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design, involving 300 adolescent respondents aged 13-18 years. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and Diener's Subjective Well-Being Scale. The results of the analysis show that loneliness has a significant negative influence on subjective well-being, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.314. This shows that 31.4% of the variation in subjective well-being can be explained by the level of loneliness. This study indicates that increased levels of loneliness are associated with decreased subjective well-being in adolescents. The findings provide important insights for the development of interventions aimed at improving adolescents' psychological well-being and reducing feelings of loneliness.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents has become a significant concern, with subjective well-being playing a crucial role in their overall happiness. Understanding the factors that contribute to subjective well-being is essential, particularly in educational settings. This study aims to examine the impact of GRIT on the subjective well-being of adolescents, hypothesizing that higher levels of GRIT will be associated with improved subjective well-being. 300 adolescents participated in this study, with data collected through online questionnaires administered from October 20 to November 10, 2024. The analysis was conducted using linear regression to explore the relationship between GRIT and subjective well-being. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between GRIT and subjective well-being, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.223. This indicates that GRIT accounts for 22.3% of the variance in subjective well-being, with a significant p-value of 0.040. The findings suggest that higher levels of GRIT positively influence the subjective well-being of adolescents. This underscores the importance of fostering GRIT in educational contexts to enhance students' overall happiness and life satisfaction.

Abstract

Loneliness is an increasing problem among early adult individuals, especially at the age of 20-40 years. Locus of control, as individuals' beliefs about their ability to control outcomes in life, may play an important role in the experience of loneliness. This study aims to examine the effect of locus of control on the level of loneliness in early adult individuals. This study used a quantitative method with a survey approach, involving 250 early adult respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire consisting of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and Levenson's Multidimensional Locus of Control Scale. The results of the analysis show that locus of control has a significant negative influence on the level of loneliness, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.283. This shows that 28.3% of variations in loneliness levels can be explained by locus of control. This study indicates that individuals with higher locus of control tend to experience lower levels of loneliness. The findings provide important insights in the development of interventions to support the mental health of early adult individuals and achieve the expected research objectives.
