Abstract

Based on data from the Sindangkasih Health Center, the number of cases of severe mental disorders, namely schizophrenia, is 43 cases from all cases of mental disorders. This case study is to determine the effectiveness of the application of rebuke therapy and positive affirmation therapy on hallucinations in patients with sensory perception disorders: Auditory Hallucinations. Schizophrenia is a neurological disease that affects the patient's perception, way of thinking, language, emotions, and social behavior. Hallucinations are a condition where an individual loses the ability to distinguish between stimuli (thoughts) and external stimuli (the outside world). The method used in this Scientific Paper is qualitative in the form of a comparative case study on two respondents. The implementation of this case study was carried out by means of a home visit to the homes of both respondents, the interventions given were in the form of rebuke techniques and positive affirmation therapy for 5 days of nursing to reduce the signs and symptoms of hallucinations. There was a decrease in signs and symptoms in both respondents after being given intervention, signs and symptoms in client 1 decreased from the initial 24 to 11, while in client 2 decreased from the initial 33 to 24. The technique of reprimanding and positive affirmation therapy is very influential in reducing signs and symptoms of hallucinations, this intervention can be done independently or assisted by family. Suggestions for the provision of reprimanding techniques and positive affirmation therapy can be further increased as an effort to control hallucinations.

This scientific paper uses case studies on 2 patients who experience hallucinatory sensory perception disorders. The results of this case study showed that both patients experienced a decrease in signs and symptoms of hallucinations. The conclusion of this case study is that the strategy of medication adherence and activity therapy: reading the Qur'an is effective in reducing hallucinations. Suggestions for families to be able to participate in providing nursing care to patients with hallucinatory sensory perception disorders so that patients feel there is support that can accelerate the healing process of their illness.

Abstract

Pneumonia is the leading cause of death from infection in children globally. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between the physical environment of the home and smoking behavior with the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers. The research method used was quantitative with a case-control study design. The case group consisted of 52 respondents and the control group consisted of 104 respondents (case-control ratio of 1:2). The independent variables in this study were housing density, ventilation area, humidity, and family members' smoking behavior, while the dependent variable was the incidence of pneumonia in infants. The case population in this study was infants aged 12–59 months who suffered from pneumonia in 2024, and the control population was all infants aged 12–59 months who did not suffer from pneumonia in 2024. The research instruments used were questionnaires, measurement sheets, hygrometers, and roll meters. The results of the bivariate test using the chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between housing density (p-value 0.001 with OR = 3.499), ventilation area (p-value 0.004 with OR = 2.895), humidity (p-value 0.047 with OR = 2.120), and family members' smoking behavior (p-value 0.015 with OR = 3.037) with the incidence of pneumonia in infants. The conclusion of this study is that there was a relationship between housing density, ventilation area, humidity, and family members' smoking habits with the incidence of pneumonia in infants. Recommendations for community health centers include the need to monitor the living conditions of the local community and conduct individual education regarding the dangers and health impacts of cigarette smoke.

Abstract

Background: Hyperbilirubinemia in neonates is a yellowing of the skin, conjunctiva, and sclera of the baby caused by an increase in bilirubin levels in the plasma during the early life of the baby, which appears after a few days following birth. Efforts to manage the increase in bilirubin levels in infants include performing phototherapy and positioning the baby in a prone position every 2 hours, which can help reduce bilirubin levels in the baby. Purpose: Understanding the application of phototherapy and the prone position on the reduction of bilirubin levels in neonates. Method: The method used is through research in the form of a case study conducted in the Level 1 NICU (Perinatology) / Salman Al-Farizi on newborns (Neonates) who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, totaling two individuals, with data collection techniques consisting of interviews and observations. The pronation positioning intervention was carried out once a day for three days with a duration of 30 minutes every two hours. Results: To determine the effect of the prone position on the decrease in bilirubin levels after the administration of the action with patient 1 bilirubin levels to 10 mg / dL and patient 2 bilirubin levels to 11 mg / dL. Conclution: The prone position has been proven effective in reducing bilirubin levels in neonates, hospitals are expected to be able to implement the prone position to help reduce high bilirubin levels. Suggestion: For parents at home who have babies experiencing an increase in bilirubin levels or changes in skin color to yellowish, they can expose the baby to sunlight under direct sunlight from 07:00 to 08:00 AM WIB using available tools and materials as long as the light is able to reach the entire area of the baby's body.
