Abstract

This study examined the relationship between self-esteem and self-compassion with resilience among first-year university students. A quantitative approach was employed with 100 first-year students at Universitas Muria Kudus who completed online questionnaires assessing resilience, self-esteem, and self-compassion. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Spearman’s Rho correlation in SPSS 27.0. The results showed that self-esteem and self-compassion jointly had a highly significant positive relationship with resilience (r = 0.721; p < 0.01), explaining 52.16% of the variance in resilience. Individually, self-esteem demonstrated a strong positive relationship with resilience (r = 0.719; p < 0.01), whereas self-compassion showed a moderate but still significant positive relationship (r = 0.526; p < 0.01). These findings indicate that higher levels of self-esteem and self-compassion are associated with stronger adaptive capacity and greater emotional stability among first-year students when facing academic and social challenges during the transition to university life. Overall, this study highlights the importance of strengthening internal psychological resources as protective factors for resilience in emerging adulthood. The results also suggest that well-being programs designed to foster self-worth, self-acceptance, and compassionate attitudes toward oneself may contribute to improved adjustment, academic persistence, and mental health among first-year university students. In conclusion, higher education institutions are expected to design psychological intervention programs that focus on strengthening the internal aspects of new students. The implementation of these programs should be carried out in an integrative manner, not only oriented towards boosting self-esteem through academic achievement, but also including self-compassion training to build students' emotional stability in facing pressure.

Abstract

This study examines the creative process and social background of Indonesian independent musician Yovi Birawanto in producing his musical works. Music, particularly song lyrics, is not merely an aesthetic expression but also a medium that reflects the artist’s interaction with social realities. This research aims to describe how Yovi’s social experiences influence his creative process, to explain the stages of creativity involved, and to identify the dominant social themes represented in his songwriting. Employing a qualitative approach, the study utilizes in-depth interviews, lyric analysis, and live performance observation. The findings reveal that Yovi’s creative works emerge from collective and contextual experiences rather than personal sentimentalism. His songwriting is strongly influenced by shared emotional realities, such as human vulnerability, existential anxiety, and the need for emotional space within contemporary social life. These themes are articulated through reflective and metaphorical language that resonates with broader public experiences. Furthermore, the creative process follows four integrated stages: preparation through idea collection based on social observation, incubation within moments of reflective silence, illumination marked by the sudden emergence of musical or lyrical ideas, and verification through collaborative refinement with the band. Performance observation confirms that live performance functions as the final phase of verification, enabling emotional dialogue between the artist and the audience. In conclusion, Yovi Birawanto’s musical works operate as a form of social discourse in which creativity becomes a dialogic interaction between the artist, social environment, and listeners, positioning independent music as a meaningful medium of popular literary expression.

Abstract

YOLOv5 is a variant of the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm, which is widely recognized for its ability to perform fast and efficient object detection in a single-stage processing framework. The performance of YOLOv5 is strongly influenced by its backbone architecture, which is responsible for extracting visual features from input images. Consequently, backbone replacement is commonly employed as an experimental approach to analyze the impact of feature extraction variations on object detection performance. This study aims to conduct an experimental evaluation of replacing the YOLOv5 backbone with the EfficientNet architecture, specifically EfficientNet-B4, for a rupiah currency value detection system. The experiment was carried out by comparing the baseline YOLOv5 model with a modified YOLOv5 model incorporating the EfficientNet-B4 backbone, using a rupiah banknote dataset consisting of seven nominal classes. Model performance was evaluated using precision, recall, mAP@0.5, mAP@0.5:0.95, and inference time as evaluation metrics. The experimental results indicate that the use of EfficientNet-B4 leads to a decrease of 1.075% in mAP@0.5, while simultaneously increasing mAP@0.5:0.95 by 2.247%. This improvement suggests enhanced bounding box localization accuracy under more stringent Intersection over Union (IoU) evaluation criteria. However, the inference time increased significantly, from approximately 7 ms to 37.8 ms per image. Overall, these findings indicate that backbone replacement provides different performance characteristics and needs to be tailored to the specific requirements of the target application.

Abstract

In August 2025, Indonesia witnessed one of the largest protest waves in its history, sparked by public anger over elite privilege, detrimental policies, and government inaction. Amid this upheaval, three colors: Brave Pink, Hero Green, and Resistance Blue emerged as a symbolic repertoire that unified diverse demands. This article employs a qualitative case study that integrates semiotic analysis, Foucauldian discourse analysis, and theories of soft power and people power. It asks: How did this color-based symbolic repertoire function to challenge state power and construct a new political reality? The analysis reveals that these colors were not incidental but were consciously deployed to build a counter-discourse. Brave Pink embodied women's civil courage, Hero Green signaled solidarity and collective mourning for the working class, while Resistance Blue revived historical democratic struggle. By synthesizing the attractive force of soft power with the mobilizing energy of people power, this repertoire forged new cross-class political identities and expanded the protest arena into the digital sphere. The study concludes that this phenomenon illustrates how a simple, shared visual language can dismantle official narratives and construct an alternative "regime of truth" grounded in empathy and justice, marking a significant evolution in the grammar of political contestation.

Abstract

The growing urgency of sustainability issues, including environmental degradation, social inequality, and governance weaknesses, has intensified global pressure on industries to adopt Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The construction sector, as one of Indonesia’s major economic contributors and a significant source of global carbon emissions, faces increasing demand to align its practices with sustainability goals. Despite this urgency, ESG implementation in the Indonesian construction industry remains limited due to low awareness, inconsistent frameworks, and regulatory challenges. This study aims to identify key challenges and barriers to ESG implementation within Indonesia’s construction sector and to formulate strategic recommendations for improvement. A descriptive quantitative method was applied using a survey distributed to construction experts and practitioners across Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung. Data were analyzed using the Relative Importance Index (RII) to determine the relative weight of each factor influencing ESG implementation. The results indicate that the main challenges include a lack of ESG socialization and education, short-term profit orientation, and limited stakeholder engagement, with RII values ranging from 0.44 to 1.00. Meanwhile, the main barriers are limited financial capacity, the absence of standardized reporting frameworks, and weak regulatory support, with RII values between 0.60 and 0.96. These findings suggest that ESG implementation in Indonesia’s construction sector remains in its early stages, hindered by institutional and governance constraints. Strengthening ESG literacy, policy frameworks, and financial mechanisms is essential to accelerate sustainable construction practices and support national development goals.

Abstract

Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the health sector have high complexity with various risks that can hinder project success. This study aims to identify the most relevant and significant risks in health sector PPP projects. The research method uses a quantitative approach with questionnaire surveys to four experts consisting of representatives from government and business entities experienced in hospital PPP projects. Data were analyzed using the Probability Impact Matrix (PIM) to determine risk significance levels based on probability of occurrence and impact. The results show eight dominant risks in high and very high categories. Very high category risks include JKN/Availability Payment and delays in JKN claim payments. High category risks include regional fiscal sustainability, shortage of healthy human resources, land risks, regulatory uncertainty, construction delays, and construction cost increases. These findings indicate that operational risks dominate health sector PPP projects, with high dependence on national health policies and local government fiscal capacity. This research provides practical contributions for stakeholders in designing more effective risk mitigation strategies for health sector PPP projects.

Abstract

The increasing demand for affordable housing in Indonesia necessitates residential developments that balance large-scale quantity with environmental sustainability through green housing concepts. While developers are the primary drivers of green adoption, they face significant organizational challenges. This study aims to identify the critical developer readiness factors essential for the successful implementation of green concepts in the affordable housing sector. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a literature review to identify 25 readiness variables, followed by Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) and Inter-Rater Agreement (IRA) to analyze survey data from subsidized housing developers in East Java. The results highlight that three factors are perceived as the most critical for success, each achieving the highest importance mean of 4.556: Decision-Making Processes, Adequate Financial Budgeting, and Awareness of Green Design Concepts for Housing Provision. These factors emphasize the necessity of integrating sustainability criteria into core procurement procedures and ensuring dedicated funding for green premiums. Furthermore, the study identified five high-priority areas where actual readiness significantly lags behind importance, including collaboration networks and practical knowledge. Identifying these primary factors is crucial as it provides a strategic roadmap for developers and regulators to focus resources on the most impactful organizational capabilities. Enhancing these core readiness factors is essential to bridge the gap between national sustainability targets and actual field implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to design a multifunctional educational table for preschool children by considering aspects of ergonomics, safety, educational functions, and material sustainability. The study uses a participatory approach combined with the Design Thinking method through the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. In the empathize stage, the researchers explored user needs through observation and interviews with early childhood teachers to understand the problems that arise when children use conventional tables. The define stage resulted in a problem formulation related to the incompatibility of table dimensions, limited functionality, and lack of safety features. Concept ideation was carried out by producing alternative table designs that are stable, ergonomic, have storage space, and utilize furniture waste as the main material. Next, the researchers created a prototype in the form of a miniature table with dimensions and features tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children. The testing stage showed positive responses from teachers as evaluators, who assessed that the table design met the aspects of safety, functionality, and comfort for children. These results show that the Design Thinking approach is effective in producing educational furniture concepts that meet user needs.
