Abstract

Samosir is one of the famous tourist attraction for the beautiful view of nature of Lake Toba and some traditional cultural sites. Samosir began to start independent and has they have managing system for every area, and one of them is a tourist attraction. This area has the infrastructure that should be available very well, the most important thing in tourist attraction context in Samosir Island is the water crossing terminal because water transportation is the main part of tourist attractions life in Samosir Island. Tomok Village’s dock is one of the main doors that very busy with so many visits from the passenger. To provide a decent service, this dock is still far from expectations. Can be seen from the limit of the passengers this dock can afford, with the increasing intensity of passengers. However, this region needs to redevelopment using every single available potential. In the end, the dockyard should be attractive and give a great experience of Batak Toba culture. The designer will create the cultural experience through the display of the buildings. The designer hopes to facilitate passengers to cross the lake to Samosir island using Tomok village’s dockyard.

Abstract

With the needs of the growing community in the District of Medan Labuhan impact on improving people's living standards & population growth. The increase is also in line with the growing demand of the provision of facilities and infrastructure because the higher the level of life of a person, the higher the demands on the provision of facilities, especially in service facilities and commerce. Therefore it is needed a container that can meet the needs of the place of shopping which is realized through "Market Relocation of Medan Labuhan" to buy and sell a place in Medan Labuhan. It aims to improve the economic level of the community in Medan Labuhan. With the formulation of the concept of traditional market orientation of the community as its users, it is expected to increase the attractiveness of the traditional market which can then increase the competitiveness between traditional markets and modern markets. The application of Neo Vernacular is aligned with the design of the building to achieve a balance between buildings, nature, and users.

Abstract

Medan Labuhan is one of the sub-districts that located in North Medan. The economy in this place is far left behind when compared to Medan City. To improve the economic condition of the region, it is necessary to build a shopping center. The shopping center is not only on the economic side but also a public space for people to do interaction and recreation. The analogy of Deli river into metaphor concept will make a new identity of this region. This shopping center will enhance economic growth, re-development of the historical potential of Medan Labuhan area as a new attraction for the people of Medan and tourists.

Abstract

The slum is one of the problems in Medan Labuhan area that is difficult to avoid. One of the causes of a slum settlement in this region is due to the increasingly expensive and limited land that causes low-income people do not have enough purchasing power to live in better areas. In response to this situation, the development of a flat rental housing as called as Rusunawa is one alternative that can be done to meet the needs of the community. With the implementation of the Green Architecture concept, the planned Rental Flat Housing can use the maximum use of natural resources and reduce the negative impact on the environment and can create an effective, comfortable and livable dwelling in Medan Labuhan area.

Abstract

Binjai is one of the cities included in the Mebidangro development project which includes Medan City, Binjai City, Deli Serdang Regency, and Karo Regency. Strategic location located on the road cross Sumatera make Binjai City a prosperous city in its development. The economic condition of the city of Binjai in the previous few years continues to increase, in the sector of Large and Retail Trade. Based on survey results, the city of Binjai still needs a center of excellence and recreational facilities such as cinemas and eating places to improve the economic quality of the city. The adhesive of East Binjai Shopping and Recreation Center is expected to meet those needs. The hot temperature of the city of Binjai becomes the designer's choice of theme "Green Architecture" as the design theme. It is considered very suitable for heat temperature to the building. A design approach that carries the theme of Green Architecture can create environmentally friendly buildings. Implementation of this theme is also useful to save the operational costs of the building.

Abstract

Sumatera Utara has enhancement of population growth around 2.33% per year and economic growth around 14.7% per year. By all means, this data effect on trade sector, industry sector, entertainment sector, and education sector. From the data above can be obtained that Medan needs supporting facilities to organizing even such as conference, exhibition, a party even, or concert which nationally or internationally. There are a few even for entertainment and art in Medan seen from rarely held music or art performance nationally or internationally. Moreover, there is a very few venue to hold it. North Sumatra Convention Center is built at Jl. H. Adam Malik. This location is chosen because it is by the District of West Medan, which is destined for commercial building supporting the economy. The theme of the design is Contemporary Architecture. This theme is the result of the author's thought to make this building also become Landmark Medan. With the design of the new Convention Center in Medan itself aims to create a place for conference and other activities. The international convention center design is also expected to improve the quality and quantity of similar development for community place and improve the economy of Medan with regions and other countries. The design of North Sumatra Convention Center is expected to be able to support the big activities as mentioned above.

Abstract

Simalungun Regency is an autonomous region that has quite a wealth of natural resources that require maximum development. Tourism development in Simalungun Regency has a very significant and strategic meaning. A tourism sector is a mainstay plane that is expected to support the development of regional development. The tourism is also not free from the available facilities and infrastructure such as port as a means of transport inter-island liaison. The Tigaras Ferry pier is one of the existing ports to connect the Tigaras districts with Simanindo in Samosir District. Tigaras dock at this time not so noticed by the local government, but the area is an alternative port in the field as a liaison to the island of Samosir through Simanindo pier. Supporting infrastructure in the region is also inadequate. The arrangement of Tigaras and the design of dock terminal building and public place using organic theme then produce that connect the aspect of the outer and inner space. Buildings with the formation of a mass of course organic, as well as the public area that can attract visitors to be more environmentally conscious. Through this revitalization, the designer hopes to facilitate passengers or people who will cross to Samosir Island by using this Tigaras dock.

Abstract

Currently, the population growth is growing very rapidly resulting in rapid growth of the needs of settlements. The population growth that is not proportional to the availability of land and the income level of the lower middle class resulted in the emergence of illegal settlements and slums and are on land that is inconsistent with the city spatial plan for example on the edge of the river. This condition causes the decreasing quality of life of the people, especially in urban areas, destroying the environment and the spatial arrangement of the city. Medan city is one of the cities that there are many slums. One of the slums in the city of Medan is Kampung Badur located in Hamdan Village Medan Maimun District. The condition of the slums and the low economic level and the location of Kampung Badur located in the city center became the main problem in this area. Therefore, a solution is needed to solve problems in the area by making Kampung Badur an area that provides decent occupancy for occupancy and facilities that could be enjoyed together. The solution to this problem is to re-arrange Kampung Badur and develop potentials in the area. For example, Kampung Badur area which is right on the edge of the river becomes a potential in the design. So that the solution that can be applied is to develop Kampung Badur into Mix-Use Waterfront with a mix-use concept such as residential, public facilities and public open space to be enjoyed by residents Kampung Badur itself and by the people of Medan City.

Abstract

Belawan Fishermen Village is a Fisherman Village on the edge of Medan City. The fisherman is the biggest livelihood in this village. A Spatial also has a lot of activities / local wisdom as well as traditions such as traditional rowing racing, drying salted fish and catching fish. The problems of the Villages are from poverty, lack of green open space, dirty and smelly environments, waste everywhere, improper laying of buildings, and inadequate water supply. The structures of buildings and building materials in these villages are also included in the inappropriate category. This design aims to make this village as a tourist village, comfortable to live and visited by tourists, and make a friendly village face with the surrounding environment, and can improve the lives of citizens. Also, it can improve the lives of citizens. Realizing the theme of tourism by taking the potential and cultural character and local wisdom which is then implemented in the form of tourism. There are several aspects of design in this design include the following:In the aspect of this village activity, there are 2 activities that are the daily activities of citizens and tourism activities.In the aspect of this village, the site has two accesses, on land in the form of decks that are 2m wide as well as ocean circulation that is connected directly to the pier deck of residents' homes.In the aspect of the building, the building in this village uses a structure that is resistant to seawater. In addition to being able to withstand vertical and lateral shocks and buffers that with PVC pipe material filled with cement. Utilities make a biofiltration system that treats waste before entering the sea considering the area of the settlement is a conservation area.
