Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of understanding DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 116/DSN-MUI/IX/2017 on the implementation of sharf contracts in sharia electronic money services. The fatwa emphasizes the importance of the principle of taqabudh and the prohibition of riba in currency exchange transactions, including in the digital context. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique on 56 respondents who use sharia electronic money services. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, with results showing that all statement items were valid and reliable. Normality and simple linear regression tests showed that the data were normally distributed and that there was a significant positive effect between understanding of the fatwa and the implementation of the sharf contract. These results reinforce the theory that a good understanding of sharia plays a role in increasing compliance with the principles of digital sharia transactions. The implications of this study encourage the strengthening of education on the principles of digital muamalah fiqh through DSN-MUI fatwas as a basis for the development of a sharia electronic money system.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Coding and Artificial Intelligence (CAI) learning in elementary schools. The research was conducted as a classroom action study at SD Muhammadiyah Pakem, where the researcher acted as an observer while a colleague implemented CAI learning activities in a fifth-grade classroom. The purpose of this study was to explore how coding and artificial intelligence could be integrated into the existing curriculum and to analyze the impact of such learning on students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities. The data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, followed by descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the implementation of CAI learning effectively enhances students’ analytical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills. Students became more engaged and motivated in solving problems using logical reasoning and computational thinking approaches. However, the study also found that the integration of technology-based learning should be balanced with the reinforcement of religious and moral values to ensure holistic character development. Therefore, it is recommended that future learning designs incorporate both technological literacy and value-oriented education to strengthen intellectual as well as ethical competencies among elementary students.

Abstract

This paper critically examines the Islamic civilization from two distinctive yet complementary perspectives: Ahmad Syalabi's historical approach and A. Malik Fadjar's educational reorientation framework. Ahmad Syalabi provides a comprehensive historical narrative of Islamic civilization, emphasizing the periodization and cultural achievements of Muslim societies. Meanwhile, A. Malik Fadjar offers a progressive educational paradigm through his concept of "Reorientasi Pendidikan Islam," which integrates traditional Islamic values with modern educational needs. This study employs a qualitative library research method to synthesize both perspectives and their implications for contemporary Islamic education, particularly within the Muhammadiyah context. The findings reveal that understanding Islamic civilization through historical lenses while simultaneously embracing educational innovation represents a balanced approach toward achieving "Islam Berkemajuan" (Progressive Islam) in the 21st century.

Abstract

Religious education plays an important role in the character formation and academic achievement of high school students. In the context of an increasingly complex and plural world, religious education serves not only as a means to introduce certain religious teachings, but also as a tool to shape the character of students through important moral values such as discipline, tolerance, and responsibility. This study aims to review the influence of religious education on the character development and academic achievement of high school students, focusing on various models and approaches that can improve both. The method used is a systematic literature review (SLR), referring to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, to analyze various relevant empirical studies from various scientific sources. The results of the study show that religious education that integrates the values of moderation and multiculturalism has a positive impact on the formation of students' character, as well as improving their academic achievement. The use of digital technology, such as Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR), has also been proven to enrich religious learning experiences, increase emotional engagement, and deepen students' understanding of religious teachings. However, there are challenges in optimizing the involvement of parents and communities in a more holistic religious education process. Therefore, further research is needed to develop a more effective religious education model in supporting the development of students' character and academic achievement. This research emphasizes the importance of integration between religious education, moral values, and technology to create a better learning environment and support students' academic success.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping students’ Islamic understanding. However, its implementation in schools is still largely dominated by conventional learning approaches that are less responsive to technological advancements and the characteristics of students in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of e-learning based Islamic Religious Education in improving students’ Islamic understanding. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Kerjo, involving an experimental group that received e-learning based Islamic Religious Education instruction and a control group that received conventional Islamic Religious Education instruction. Data were collected through tests measuring students' Islamic understanding, while data analysis included descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, preceded by prerequisite tests and difference tests to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. The findings indicate that e-learning based Islamic Religious Education has a positive effect and is more effective in enhancing students’ Islamic understanding compared to conventional Islamic Religious Education instruction. The study concludes that e-learning based Islamic Religious Education is feasible to be implemented as an alternative instructional strategy in schools. The contribution of this study lies in strengthening empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of e-learning based Islamic Religious Education and providing practical implications for teachers and schools in developing Islamic education that is adaptive to technological advancements.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia including pesantren, madrasah, and integrated Islamic schools in responding to the dynamics of modernity and the globalization of education. The background of this research stems from the need to understand how Islamic educational institutions can adapt to the demands of the digital era without abandoning the Islamic values that form their fundamental identity. The main objective of this study is to analyze the forms, directions, and implications of institutional transformation within Indonesia’s Islamic education through a qualitative, literature based approach employing an integrative literature review strategy. Data were collected from various scholarly sources, including reputable journals, academic books, and relevant research reports, and were analyzed thematically and narratively. The findings reveal that the transformation of Islamic education occurs across three major dimensions: institutional, curricular, and ideological values. Pesantren are experiencing modernization in management and curriculum, madrasah emphasize the integration of religious and general sciences, while integrated Islamic schools represent a new, holistic, and adaptive model of Islamic education. Collectively, these institutions demonstrate a synergistic pattern in shaping a more inclusive and competitive national Islamic education system. Theoretically, this study contributes to strengthening the integrative paradigm between faith, knowledge, and practice, while practically providing a conceptual foundation for developing Islamic education policies and strategies that are relevant to the challenges of the modern era.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to: a) analyze Islamic economic law regarding transaction mechanisms and penalties in paylater services in Indonesia based on the principles of the DSN-MUI fatwa. b) describe the influence of paylater culture on consumptive lifestyle behavior from an Islamic economic perspective. Methodology: This research is qualitative in nature and descriptive-analytical in scope. The technique used is documentation study or literature study. Results: 1) The Islamic economic law review of transaction mechanisms and penalties in paylater services in Indonesia based on the principles of the DSN-MUI fatwa is as follows: paylater services are permitted as long as they do not conflict with sharia principles, namely avoiding elements of usury, gharar (uncertainty), maysir (gambling), tadlis (deception), dharar (harm), and zhulm (injustice). And in order for the paylater system to be in accordance with sharia, the services must use valid contracts, including: Murabahah or Bay' Bithaman Ajil, Qardh, Ijarah, Wakalah bi al-Ujrah. 2) The influence of paylater culture on consumptive lifestyle behavior from an Islamic economic perspective causes Muslims to fall into: a) Israf (extravagance) b) Tabdzir, c) Neglect of Priority Scale Applications/Originality/Value: With the convenience of this pay later service feature, many Muslims, especially young people, have become complacent and less attentive to how religion regulates it. Therefore, this topic needs to be reviewed in order to add to the Sharia literature.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the ta'dib paradigm from Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas in overcoming academic anxiety among college students. Academic anxiety is often a barrier that affects students' emotional well-being and academic performance. Although considered part of the learning process, poorly managed anxiety can adversely affect the quality of learning. The ta'dib paradigm, which integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual aspects, offers a holistic approach to education that can create a balance between academic achievement and students' emotional well-being. Through this adab-based approach, students are taught to manage anxiety, build good character, and maintain a balance between academic pressure and emotional management. This research shows that the application of ta'dib can create a healthier and more supportive educational environment, as well as help students manage academic anxiety more effectively. The study also proposes the need to integrate moral and spiritual aspects in higher education to create individuals who are balanced and able to face academic challenges more calmly.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the problems in the literacy and numeracy skills of students at the elementary school level and the factors that affect them in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data were collected through learning observations, in-depth interviews with classroom teachers and students, and documentation studies on learning outcomes and learning tools. Data analysis techniques are carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by applying data validity tests through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study show that the literacy and numeracy skills of elementary school students are still relatively low, especially in the aspects of reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning, and the application of concepts in the context of daily life. The main causative factors include low interest in reading, limited variety of learning methods, lack of use of innovative learning media, and lack of support for the learning environment at home. This research has an originality value in mapping literacy and numeracy problems comprehensively based on the context of learning in elementary schools. The findings of this research are expected to be the basis for educators and policy makers in designing learning strategies that are more contextual, innovative, and oriented towards strengthening students' literacy and numeracy skills in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Objective: To reveal gaps in understanding the application of fatwas in Islamic fintech, obstacles such as low literacy and weak supervision, and proposals for digital adaptation innovations. Theoretical Framework: Based on sharia principles (prohibition of usury, gharar, maysir) with the evolution of the concept of electronic money from the Islamic empire era to modern regulations such as Law No. 21/2008 and POJK No. 28/2019. Literature Review: A review of previous studies reveals gaps such as a lack of analysis of the implementation of DSN-MUI fatwas (No. 116/2017, 117/2018), protection of sharia e-wallet data, the role of OJK, and DSN-MUI supervision, as well as the potential of sharia fintech despite low literacy. Methods: A normative legal qualitative approach with secondary data from literature, journals, PBI No. 23/6/2021, DSN-MUI fatwa, literature review, evolutionary synthesis, and case studies of Islamic fintech banking. Results: Sharia banking assets grew to IDR 980.30 trillion (2024, +10%), but market share remained at 7 8%; opportunities for BSI and LinkAja Syariah to reach the unbanked 50%, challenges of real-time DPS supervision and BASYARNAS MUI arbitration compared to non-sharia (OVO, GoPay). Implications: Strengthen regulations (mandatory arbitration clauses, AI DPS), literacy education via the BSI LinkAja platform (increase inclusion by 20%), global harmonization of AAOIFI for competitiveness and sustainability of the Islamic economy. Novelty: The first normative digital integrative approach synthesizing the evolution of sharia electronic money up to POJK 28/2019, a process-oriented compliance model proposed by the BASYARNAS-MUI cross-sector case study and the QRIS/PayLater halal filter, has not yet been comprehensively analyzed.
