Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah system and student response in Arabic language learning. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's techniques, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah in Arabic language learning commenced with lesson planning, combining content from Durusullughoh textbook (Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor) and Silsilah Ta'lim Al-Lughah Al-Arobiyyah (LIPIA). The learning process encompassed three stages: listening and writing skills, reading comprehension, and conversational skills. Summative assessments were conducted at the end of each semester, with evaluation content derived from Durusullughoh. Student responses indicated a positive perception and enthusiasm in mastering various Arabic language skills through the implementation of Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah. The study implies the need to further enhance practical Arabic language usage in daily life, guided directly by instructors. This research contributes to the field of Arabic language education and encourages future investigations on the effectiveness and broader implementation of Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah system in diverse educational contexts. Highlight: Implementation of Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah in Arabic language learning combines content from reputable textbooks. The three-stage approach in implementing Nazhoriyah Al-Wahdah: listening and writing, reading comprehension, and conversation. Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the challenges faced by students in Maharah Kalam (Arabic speaking skills) learning and the solutions implemented in an Islamic junior high school in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative approach, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The participants included Arabic language teachers and eighth-grade students. The findings revealed that Maharah Kalam learning comprised three stages: planning, implementation through group-based conversation practice, and evaluation. The difficulties experienced by students were attributed to linguistic factors, such as pronunciation, sentence structure, and vocabulary, as well as non-linguistic factors, including students' educational background, environment, lack of interest, and limited parental support. To address these challenges, the school introduced the mandatory BTQ (Baca Tulis Quran) activity outside regular lessons. This research contributes to the understanding of Maharah Kalam learning in the context of an Islamic junior high school and provides insights into the factors affecting students' Arabic speaking skills. Further research could explore additional strategies to enhance Maharah Kalam learning and consider the influence of motivation, learning environment, and technological integration. Highlight: Importance of Maharah Kalam in Arabic language learning. Factors influencing difficulties in Maharah Kalam learning: linguistic and non-linguistic. Implementation of BTQ activities as a solution to address challenges in Maharah Kalam learning. Keyword: Maharah Kalam, Arabic Language Learning, Challenges, Solutions, Qualitative Research

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of picture card learning media on Arabic speaking skills and determine the significance and correlation between them among seventh-grade female students at the Integrated Islamic Junior High School Darul Fikri in Sidoarjo. The research employed a quantitative approach with a True Experimental design. The collected data were analyzed using correlation analysis. The findings indicated that the average score for Arabic speaking skills in the experimental group was 82.15, falling under the "good" category, while the control group scored an average of 79.45, categorized as "satisfactory." The hypothesis testing results demonstrated that there was no significant influence of picture card learning media on Arabic speaking skills among seventh-grade female students at the Integrated Islamic Junior High School Darul Fikri in Sidoarjo (t-value ≤ t-critical, 1.650 ≤ 2.013, α = 0.05). Therefore, it can be interpreted that the picture card learning media did not have an impact on Arabic speaking skills in this context. The study utilized a quantitative research method, specifically a True Experimental design, with a random selection of participants into experimental and control groups. The data were collected through a posttest, and the statistical analysis employed the t-test. The research results provide insights for educators and curriculum developers to reconsider the effectiveness of picture card learning media in enhancing Arabic speaking skills among female students. Highlight: The study aimed to investigate the influence of picture card learning media on Arabic speaking skills among seventh-grade female students in an integrated Islamic school. The research adopted a quantitative approach with a True-experimental design, focusing on correlation analysis. The results showed that there was no significant influence of picture card learning media on Arabic speaking skills among the students. Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Maharah Qira'ah (Arabic reading proficiency) learning in Grade VI students of Ula Madrasah Diniyah Salafiyah Islamiyah Tanggulangin Sidoarjo. The research aims to understand the difficulties encountered by students in learning Maharah Qira'ah, both linguistic and non-linguistic, and provide effective solutions to address these challenges. Qualitative research methods, including interviews, observations, and documentation, were employed to gather data from the headmaster, curriculum vice-principal, Arabic teachers, and students. The collected data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that Maharah Qira'ah learning encompassed planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. Linguistic difficulties involved difficulties in recognizing letter shapes, pronunciation, and punctuation, while non-linguistic difficulties encompassed teacher-related, student-related, methodological, and teaching media factors. The proposed solutions included introducing letter shapes, encouraging active student participation, fostering a positive perception of Maharah Qira'ah learning, teaching vocabulary through memorization, explaining sentence structure, providing comprehensive reading materials, offering repetitive and simplified exercises, analyzing words in context, enhancing teacher competence, motivating students, cultivating interest in Maharah Qira'ah, catering to students with limited religious knowledge, and utilizing preferred teaching methods and media. This study highlights the importance of addressing linguistic and non-linguistic difficulties to enhance Maharah Qira'ah learning outcomes. Further research can explore the effectiveness of alternative teaching methods and media preferences to optimize Arabic language acquisition. Abstract

This qualitative study examines the difficulties encountered by non-Islamic boarding school students, particularly X-grade alumni, in engaging in muhadatsah (dialogue) within the Drilling Arabic Program (DAP) curriculum at MA Bilingual Junwangi. The research employed a case study approach, involving interviews, observations, and documentation, with DAP instructors and selected X-grade alumni as research subjects. Abstract

This quantitative correlation study investigates the relationship between religiosity (independent variable) and psychological well-being (dependent variable) among 243 security guards at a private security firm. Employing a simple random sampling technique, data was collected using standardized scales measuring religiosity and psychological well-being. The analysis yielded a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.073 with a significance value (p) of 0.208 (> 0.05), indicating a non-significant relationship between religiosity and psychological well-being in this specific occupational group. These findings offer valuable insights into the complex interplay between religiosity and psychological well-being among security guards, shedding light on potential avenues for further research and interventions aimed at enhancing the well-being of this workforce.
