Abstract

The increasing adoption of generative artificial intelligence tools, particularly ChatGPT, has transformed the way students approach learning and academic tasks in higher education. This study examines the effect of ChatGPT usage on students’ academic performance and analyses the mediating role of self-regulated learning. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected from 20 higher education students using a structured questionnaire. ChatGPT usage was treated as the independent variable, self-regulated learning as the mediating variable, and academic performance as the dependent variable. The findings show that ChatGPT usage has a positive effect on academic performance and self-regulated learning. The results also indicate that self-regulated learning positively influences academic performance and mediates the relationship between ChatGPT usage and academic performance. These findings suggest that ChatGPT can support students by improving learning efficiency, providing quick access to information, and assisting with academic tasks

Abstract

Following the Paris Climate Agreement, global efforts to reduce carbon emissions have shifted from policy commitments to practical implementation. Electricity generation and transportation remain two of the largest sources of carbon emissions. Although new energy vehicles (NEVs) contribute to the decarbonization of the transportation sector, the production of power batteries continues to generate substantial emissions. This study examines the green transformation strategy of CATL under China's "dual-carbon" targets. As a global leader in the power battery industry and the first company in the sector to introduce a carbon neutrality plan, CATL provides a valuable case for analysis. Using a literature review and case study approach, this research explores the company's transformation through green corporate culture, management practices, and production processes. The findings indicate that CATL has successfully reduced carbon intensity, improved energy efficiency, increased the use of recycled materials, and strengthened supply chain resilience

Abstract

This study aims to explore students' perceptions towards usage of ChatGPT in higher education, focusing on how different aspects of the tool influence their attitudes and engagement. The independent variable consists of seven aspects of ChatGPT, which are capabilities, regulations and ethical concerns, satisfaction and attitude, study issues and outcomes, skills development, labor market and skill mismatch, and emotions, while the dependent variable is the overall usage of ChatGPT among university students. A quantitative research method was adopted using an online survey distributed through Google Forms to collect data from university students. The findings indicate that most students hold positive perceptions towards ChatGPT, viewing it as a useful tool for enhancing learning efficiency, developing new skills, and supporting academic tasks. However, some concerns remain regarding ethical use and overreliance on AI-generated content. The study concludes that ChatGPT has significant potential to complement traditional learning methods, provided it is used responsibly. The findings offer valuable implications for educators and policymakers in integrating AI tools effectively into educational settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence academic job performance among lecturers in Malaysian higher education institutions (HEIs). According to the theories from organizational psychology and higher education research, the study examined four key predictors, which are personality traits (conscientiousness and openness), motivation, lecturer professional autonomy, and transformational leadership. The study used the quantitative research design by using an online questionnaire, and a total of 150 valid responses were collected from lecturers across Malaysian HEIs. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and correlational analysis to determine the relationships between variables. The findings are expected to provide insights on how individual dispositions, internal motivation, workplace autonomy, and leadership practices collectively shape lecturer's performance. To provide a useful implication for institutional policies, lecturer development, and leadership practices, this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of performance determinants in the Malaysian higher education context.

Abstract

Today, university students are particularly dependent on online shopping, especially on popular e-commerce sites such as Lazada and Shopee. The purpose of this study is to explore more the relationship between the Big Five Personality Traits and online purchase intentions among university students who are habitual consumers on this platform. A quantitative research design will be adopted and a sequence of variables will be collected via online questionnaire that will be sent through Google Form. The Big Five Inventory (BFI-44) will be used to measure the personality traits while the online purchase intentions item will be modified fromPavlou (2003) and Ha Stoel (2009). The target sample for the study will be 150 university students across Malaysia. Data will be collected and will be analysed through descriptive and correlation analysis to illustrate the relationship between the variables. It is expected that openness to experience, consciousness and extraversion will positively influence online purchase intentions, agreeableness will have a moderate influence and neuroticism will have a negative influence. Ultimately, the findings to aim the contribute knowledge to e-commerce platform for developing personality focused marketing methods and enhancing personalization in online shopping experiences.

Abstract

This study examines how e-service quality influences customer e-satisfaction, e-loyalty, and brand equity in Malaysia, using the McDonald’s mobile application as the research context. Grounded in the Service Quality–Loyalty framework and Expectation-Confirmation Theory, the study distinguishes between e-service delivery quality, which reflects how effectively the application delivers services, and e-service outcome quality, which captures the value users obtain from using the app. Data were collected via an online survey of 157 Malaysian users with prior app usage experience. Using regression analysis in IBM SPSS, the findings indicate that both e-service delivery quality and e-service outcome quality play important roles in enhancing customer e-satisfaction and e-loyalty. However, loyalty is driven more strongly by the perceived quality of service outcomes than by satisfaction alone, suggesting that customers continue using the application primarily due to its reliability, convenience, and functional value. Customer e-loyalty also emerged as a key mechanism through which digital service experiences translate into stronger brand equity.

Abstract

For higher education corporations that are constantly striving to improve service quality, employee retention and organizational performance, employee commitment is the most important key. This study was conducted to examine the factors that will affect employee commitment at Universiti Sains Malaysia. The specific objectives are as follows: (1) to examine the effects of support provided by the organization and perceived by employees, leadership styles, appreciation and recognition on employee commitment; (2) to examine the effects of job flexibility, career opportunities and work-life balance on employee commitment; (3) to examine the role of internal communication as a mediator in these key factors and overall employee commitment. Our findings show that career growth, interpersonal relationships, role clarity, and work environment have significant positive effects on employee engagement among 150 USM staff, with role clarity emerging as the strongest predictor. Employee involvement was not found to have a significant independent effect. These findings indicate that employees are more engaged when they experience clear job expectations, supportive relationships, opportunities for professional development, and a conducive work environment, offering practical guidance for university management to strengthen employee engagement.

Abstract

Organic rice cultivation in Lampung Province is less developed because most farmers do a double cropping system that is on adjacent land to plant various types of plants to anticipate organic lower price. The problem faced by farmers is the management of cropping system, especially in maximizing revenue gains from managing resources. During this time farmers has not been able to obtain an ideal profit, only in the break-even stage between business income and expenditure. This study aims to: (1) determine the optimization model of production and maximum profit of farming, and (2) determine the optimal allocation of production resources. The research was conducted in Pringsewu and Lampung Selatan Districts. The respondents are 20 organic rice farmers. The research method used is a quantitative method using Linear Programing analysis method using POM-QM for windows 3.0 helper software. The result shows that Linear Function for Z max objective = 30,573X1 + 16,906X2 + 1,500X3 where X1, X2, and X3 are organic rice, non-organic rice, and soybean. The optimal production of farming is only producing organic rice with planting area of 19.2713 hectares and the maximum profit obtained is Rp.589,181,300,-. Optimization model of organic rice farming production is Max Z = 30573X1. The use resources of land, labor and seeds is not optimal yet or unutilized while the availability is at the farmers' level of excess, so that under optimal conditions land use, labor and seeds need to be added from the existing stock. The allocation of used capital resources shows that its use has been optimal and if the farmers increase the capital utilization by 1 unit, it will increase the business profit by Rp 2.282,-  Keywords: - Organic Rice, Production Optimization, Linear Programming
