Abstract

The Indonesian Government announced the relocation of the National Capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan Province in 2019. The term ‘Capital of the Archipelago ' or Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) was approved as the name of the new capital of the Republic of Indonesia. This study conducted visualization and bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer 1.6.20 from 100 scientific articles with the keyword "Ibu Kota Nusantara" collected from Google Scholar. The frequency of article titles relevant to IKN in 2022 was greater than in 2023. In the comparison of titles with the term IKN in 2022, there were 22 articles; in 2023, there were 15 articles, so the difference was 22/15 or 1.467. Following the 12 images of IKN, there were five images related to some scientific articles that have been published, including those related to innovation and technology where IKN was imaged as a smart city, sustainable capital, environmentally friendly, green city, and greening. However, seven images need attention for the following research topics: renewable, legal, cultural, user-friendly road, unique, city of change, and solutions for equality. This study helps provide insight as a basis for further research on various innovative themes related to IKN.

Abstract

The Esterlin paradox observation shows that income and subjective well-being are correlated at a certain point in time. However, happiness does not increase over a long period of time. On the other hand, income growth is closely associated with an increase in carbon emissions. This leads to risks that drive the climate system to conditions that have consequences for society. This study aims to estimate the relationship between carbon consumption and dimensions of human well-being in ASEAN member states over the period 2014-2021. The relationship between variables is estimated using panel data regression, which shows that carbon consumption has a positive effect on life satisfaction. Meanwhile, GDP per capita is negatively related to life satisfaction. Thus, the Esterlin paradox is still evident to explain the relationship between income and life satisfaction at the country level. The OLS method was run separately to see the influence between variables in a country. Increased carbon consumption in Singapore, Philippines, Laos and Thailand shows a negative relationship with life satisfaction. Meanwhile, the Esterlin paradox is not proven for Singapore and the Philippines.

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate the implementation of management model in empowering waqf land in the Lamsiteh village, and its impact on improving the community welfare. Lamsiteh village has land waqf managed by Baitul Mal Aceh (BMA) as nazhir. Therefore, it is vital to analyze the management, outcome and impact of the land waqf towards the comunity. This research was conducted qualitatively with interview and documentation procedures compiled through the data reduction, verification and drawing conclusions. The welfare of the village community was measured by using Maqashid Syariah indicators. Based on the results, it shows that the management of productive waqf of rice fields is carried out with a profit-sharing system (mukhabarah). The allocation of waqf results is still intended for consumptive dan religion purposes (hifzul ad-din), so it is not fully optimal in improving community welfare. In fact, there are many solutions offered, including intertwining partnerships with stakeholders to be able to finance management and empowerment waqf land, professional nazirs in managing productive waqf, and improving community welfare with comprehensive Maqashid Syari'ah are something that are still relevant to discuss. Keywords: Community welfare; Management model; Waqf land empowermentJEL Classification:  For papers in the economics field only.

Abstract

Poverty is a frequent topic of conversation. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the poverty rate, the people living in poverty, the depth of the poverty index, and the severity of the poverty index in Papua Province from 2002 to 2022. Data analysis entails using descriptive analysis and correlation analysis techniques. While no clear association is found between the poverty rate indicator and the number of individuals living in poverty, a positive correlation exists between the poverty rate indicator and the poverty depth index. Additionally, there is a direct relationship between the poverty rate indicator and the poverty severity index, though with a low correlation coefficient. Conversely, no significant association is observed between the depth of the poverty index and the number of destitute individuals. Furthermore, a negative link is noted between the poverty severity index and the population of individuals living in poverty. Notably, a highly significant correlation exists between the depth and severity of the poverty index in Papua Province. The government of Papua Province should prioritize poverty reduction activities by selecting one of the four available alternatives. These tasks are required to achieve this requirement. Keywords: Number of Poor People; Poverty Depth Index; Poverty Rate; Poverty Severity Index

Abstract

For sharia financial institutions that runs their business based on the philosophy of the Qur'an and Sunnah, social performance is the basis for actors in interacting with the environment and each other. One method of reporting social performance for sharia companies is the Islamic Social Reporting Index method (ISR). However, this method is still considered inappropriate to be applied to sharia financial institutions, which requires sharia financial institutions to develop their own social strategies. This research aims to determine the strategy for achieving social performance in the Dau branch of the Kanindo Syariah cooperative and to dig deeper into the reasons why the ISR method is not suitable for application to Sharia Financial Institutions. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results of the research shows that Kanindo Syariah Dau branch has a strategy consisting of collecting and dsitributing social funds internally and externally. As for the ISR method, three conclusions were obtained which are the reasons why this method is not appropriate for sharia financial institutions, (1) lack of concern for the environment, (2) lack of understanding regarding maqashid sharia, and (3) lack of suitability for the environmental theme of the institutions which operates in the financial sector. Keywords: Strategy, Social performance, Islamic Social Reporting Index, Sharia Financial Institutions, Environment.
