Abstract

The focus of this research is how remittances from Madura to Jakarta affect the spending habits of families left behind. Six people are available for interview. From the interviews, the informants shared the experiences of the families and the migrants themselves in managing the remittances earned. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The results of the interviews show that families are very happy and supportive of their members becoming circular migrant workers. This happens because of the limited job opportunities available in Madura, and the needs of life that must be met. Before a family member migrated to work, the family's life was so poor that they could not fulfill some family needs. But after a family member migrated, their economic life and even social life became better. The money earned by the family is used not only for consumption of daily needs, but the family prioritizes investment and most of them invest by buying gold, jewelry, land, and opening or expanding existing businesses. In addition, the families also prioritize their children's education so that they can go to school to the highest level possible.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of store atmosphere, experiential marketing, and brand associations on consumer revisit intention at Praya Social Hub Bali café. The study was conducted at Praya Social Hub Bali, with the population consisting of all customers who have visited and made purchases at the cafe. The sample size of 100 respondents was determined using non-probability purposive sampling. Data collected through questionnaire distribution were deemed suitable for analysis, with subsequent testing and analysis conducted using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that store atmosphere, experiential marketing, and brand associations positively influence revisit intention at Praya Social Hub Bali. This implies that an improvement in store atmosphere, experiential marketing, and brand associations leads to higher consumer revisit intention. Brand associations emerge as the most dominant variable in influencing consumer revisit intention, attributed to its ability to create emotional connections, reinforce quality perceptions, and establish unique appeal distinguishing it from competitors. The implications of this research suggest the need to enhance store atmosphere, experiential marketing strategies, and brand associations to elevate consumer return visits to Praya Social Hub Bali.

Abstract

Every company has a goal to maximize performance. The capital market's supply and demand combine to generate firm value, which is a reflection of the performance of the company. The purpose of this study is to investigate how intellectual capital affects corporate value, and the role of corporate governance as a moderating variable. The population is Food and Beverage companies listed on the IDX 2019-2022. The populations are 21 companies. Sampling obtained census technique. The analysis data uses Moderating Regression Analysis with Eviews. The findings showed that intellectual capital positively and significantly affects corporate value. Firm value is positively and significantly impacted by corporate governance, and corporate governance can moderate the effect of intellectual capital on Firm Value. It is recommended that companies optimize intellectual capital to increase firm value. Investors are advised to consider intellectual capital, and corporate governance that can influence the firm value.

Abstract

This research aims to see an overview of ecotherapy-based activities as a form of intervention in the design of urban green spaces during the pandemic. Ecotherapy is a combined approach of socio-ecological strategy that promotes mental health, through community participation and empowerment. The ecotherapy-based activities include horticultural therapy such as gardening and physical therapy such as sports activities. The research method is a qualitative method through case studies. The case study was carried out at two locations of Taman Maju Bersama which in 2020 had conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) process at the planning stage. The impact of the COVID-19 virus outbreak presents an opportunity to integrate a public health perspective into the concept of urban green space design standards. This is an opportunity to improve urban green space design standards that need to be considered by the Jakarta Provincial Government in the future. Some considerations should be included: 1) the opportunity to improve urban green space on a neighborhood scale, 2) the potential for an ecotherapy approach, especially on spatial program interventions in urban green spaces design, 3) consideration of health protocol policies for handling COVID-19, such as a new interpersonal physical distance limit in urban public spaces.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing consumer purchase intentions in the informal small retail sector in developing countries. Although informal retail businesses play an important role in emerging economies, research on consumer purchase intentions at small retailers is limited. In this study, we used secondary data from 281 respondents and conducted a multi-group analysis based on gender using SmartPLS. The results showed that consumer trust did not have a significant influence on purchase intention, while perceived value turned out to have a significant positive influence on purchase intention. In addition, the perceived value can act as a full mediation between consumer trust in purchase intention. Multi-group analysis revealed gender differences in the influence of perceived value on purchase intention. The practical implication of the study is that small retailers need to consider the importance of creating value for consumers in their marketing strategies, as well as understand how gender differences can affect consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

Poverty is one of main issues, and the solutions for which are still being worked into. Waqf emerges as an instrument to reduce poverty and at the same time to improve public wellbeing. The objective of this research is to answer the question whether waqf has some degree of impacts on the three dimensions of welfare, i.e., income, health, and education, as seen from the roles of the recipients. Here qualitative method was used to answer the question. The data was harvested via interviews and documentation, and its credibility was preserved through triangulation. This study finds that sustainable social wellbeing has been achieved although the attainment only covers the basic needs due to the small economic scale and the absence of the element of modern agribusiness, which is an effort to increase the value of the agricultural product. The inhibiting factor lies in the branch-level management caused by non-procedural system administration, the non-performance of documentation, incompetent human resource, and small business capital. The originality of this study is observable in the attempt of answering whether waqf can become a solution for attaining sustainable social wellbeing and of seeking a management that can further increase the impact of waqf on the said social wellbeing

Abstract

Circular Economy (CE) is an alternative concept to switch from a linear economy (take-make-dispose) to make-use-recycle. The CE concept is elaborated as a future policy in Indonesia's Vision 2045 to immediately carry out economic transformation. Practically, there are big challenges and focus on the current actual conditions. So far, the CE practice approach has been more directed at technology and manufacturing changes. Therefore, seeing the role of industry players is important to accelerate CE practices. In terms of the possibility of their resources, large business doers can accommodate the use of ES methods. However, SME players believe that CE implementation practices are still not optimal. For SME players, implementing the CE business model will have a faster impact compared to large businesses because of two things: closer to the end customer and a decentralized production system. Thus, investigations into CE practices in SMEs are important to provide an understanding of the extent to which SMEs can implement practices within a practical and efficient scope. This paper describes the findings in the field from 75 respondents (SMEs) in Malang (East Java) regarding CE practices from a behavioral aspect. The result of this study is expected to be preliminary research in the development of the behavior model of CE practices in SMEs.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are essential to economic growth MSMEs are considered a new economic wheel that can encourage the regional economy to contribute to employment This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived risk, benefits, and ease of credit on taking credit decision-making in MSMEs in the Sragen Regency. Data were collected from as many as 153 respondents who are MSMEs in Sragen Regency using a Likert scale questionnaire. The sampling technique used is random cluster sampling in each sub-district in Sragen Regency. The data analysis includes assumption, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing (t-test and F-test). The research results show that the perception of risk, the perception of benefits, and the ease of credit significantly affect the credit-making decisions of MSME actors in the Sragen Regency. This research implies that capital providers need to pay attention to the public's view of the risks, benefits, and convenience of credit by socializing, being more responsive and informative about criticism and suggestions, and providing solutions for MSMEs with financial problems.

Abstract

Tourism plays a crucial role in the Indonesian economy. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has substantially impacted the tourism industry. One of the destinations that have been heavily affected is the Ijen Crater. Virtual tourism has emerged as a crucial tool for promoting destinations, including the Ijen Crater, and is helpful to both tourists and tourism managers. This study examines the influence of information access, flow, and telepresence, representing the virtual reality (VR) experience of the Ijen Crater, on tourists' intention to visit the site. Hedonic value mediates the relationship between the VR experience and visits intention on the Ijen Crater. The study involved 117 respondents who had experienced Ijen crater virtual reality, and the SEM-PLS method was used for analysis. The research findings indicate that flow and telepresence have a significant influence on hedonic value, and flow itself has an indirect effect on visit intention. While information access does not significantly impact hedonic values, information access and telepresence do not indirectly influence visit intention to The ijen crater. These findings contribute new insights for researchers, stakeholders, and managers of Ijen tourism.

Abstract

This study focuses on the role of corporate governance in mediating the relationship between the public sector, specifically government-owned hospitals, and financial performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. While there is existing research on corporate governance, there is limited attention given to the public sector and government hospitals in the context of the pandemic. The study highlights government hospitals as they are on the front lines of healthcare services during the pandemic and have experienced a significant influx of patients, particularly in COVID-19 referral hospitals. This has created financial challenges for hospitals, with increased workloads and disrupted cash flows. The objective of this study is to determine the extent to which corporate governance can help manage the financial difficulties faced by government hospitals during the pandemic. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights for the government and hospital managers, aiding in the improvement of corporate governance and financial performance during emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
