Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of firm performance (ROE) and firm characteristics (Size) on firm value (PBV). The study involves two control variables: situation and industry type. Additionally, this research uses the DPR variable as a moderator for the relationship between ROE and PBV, as well as for the relationship between Size and PBV. This study includes 21 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with a total of 345 firm-year observations. The findings of this study show that the ROE and Size variables have a negative and significant effect on PBV. Meanwhile, the DPR variable positively moderates the relationship between ROE and PBV, as well as between Size and PBV. The situation and industry type variables were found to have no effect on PBV. The implications are that companies need to be cautious in relying on ROE or large size as indicators to increase PBV. An appropriate dividend policy can be an important strategy to enhance or maintain firm value, particularly for large companies facing challenges in sustaining PBV. Companies need to balance dividend policies with investments for growth and manage organizational complexity to improve PBV.

Abstract

This study investigates factors influencing green product purchasing by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries, focusing on the Theory of Consumption Values (TCV) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Using a systematic literature review, articles published between 2020 and 2024 were analyzed. Findings show that TCV is crucial for understanding green purchasing behavior through functional, social, emotional, and epistemic values, significantly impacting consumer intentions. Consumers prefer products that meet functional needs and align with their values. TPB highlights attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in shaping purchase intentions. Positive environmental attitudes, social support, and perceived control encourage green product purchasing. Integrating TCV and TPB offers a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics influencing these decisions. Practically, this study guides marketers in developing effective green marketing strategies by highlighting product benefits and leveraging community support. Although focused on recent literature and TCV and TPB, further research could explore other factors influencing green purchasing in different contexts. This study enriches the literature on green purchasing and supports sustainable economic growth for SMEs in developing countries.

Abstract

The carbon exchange is a regulatory system that governs Carbon Trading and maintains records of Carbon Unit ownership. This study empirically examines the influence of carbon intensity, tax avoidance, and macroeconomic stability on carbon disclosure. The population for this research consists of companies in the Mining, Petroleum, Agriculture, and Basic Industries and Chemicals sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2022 period. Data collection involved accessing the official IDX website, www.idx.co.id, and the individual websites of the companies. Using the purposive sampling method, 132 samples were selected to ensure relevance and alignment with the study’s criteria. The research employs logistic regression analysis as the method of data analysis to assess the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The findings reveal that macroeconomic stability positively influences carbon disclosure practices, while neither carbon intensity nor tax avoidance has a significant effect on carbon disclosure. These results contribute to understanding the factors that drive carbon disclosure and provide insight into the role of economic conditions in shaping corporate sustainability practices.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the influence of gender diversity on the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value in Indonesian manufacturing enterprises from 2021 to 2023. This study utilizes secondary data derived from the annual reports of firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study measures gender diversity by the percentage of female members on a company's board of commissioners. Sustainability reporting is measured using the GRI 2016 standards, with the economic sector divided into 6 subsections consisting of 13 indicators, the environmental sector divided into 8 subsections consisting of 30 indicators, and the social sector divided into 19 subsections consisting of 34 indicators. Firm value is measured using the Price-to-Book Value ratio. The research sample consists of consumer non-cyclicals, and purposive sampling technique is employed. To analyze the data, this study applies Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of SPSS. The results of the study indicate that gender diversity does not moderate the effect of sustainability reporting on firm value. This finding suggests that while sustainability reporting may influence firm value, gender diversity does not have a significant moderating effect in the context of manufacturing companies in Indonesia. This study recommends considering other factors that may be more effective in moderating the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value. Keywords: "Gender Diversity"; "Sustainability Report"; and "Firm Value"
