Abstract

This study examines the influence of Country of Origin (COO) on the purchase decisions of Indonesian Generation Z consumers toward Apple electronic products. The concept of COO suggests that consumers' perceptions of a product's originating country significantly shape their evaluations, attitudes, and purchasing behavior. Indonesian Gen Z consumers are increasingly aware of product origin and often associate it with quality, innovation, reputation, and ethical standards. Apple, as an iconic American technology brand, represents a relevant case for investigating this phenomenon due to its strong global reputation and premium brand positioning. The company's association with the United States, widely recognized as a leader in technological innovation, is expected to strengthen positive consumer perceptions and encourage purchase decisions. This study aims to analyze how the American country-of-origin image influences Indonesian Gen Z consumers' purchasing decisions regarding Apple electronic products. The findings are expected to contribute to the literature on consumer behavior and country-of-origin effects while providing practical insights for international technology brands seeking to strengthen their marketing strategies in emerging markets, particularly among Generation Z consumers in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work engagement, work-life balance , job satisfaction, and creativity on employee performance at the Semarang Gypsum Company in responding to manufacturing productivity challenges. Using a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique, 100 out of 110 employees participated as respondents. Model evaluation and hypothesis testing were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) version 4.1.1.8. Based on Social Exchange Theory, the analysis results prove that work engagement, work-life balance , job satisfaction, and creativity have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with an Adjusted R-Square value of 56.9% (moderate category). The practical implications suggest that management strengthen emotional support, implement flexible work policies, and create a conducive environment to trigger innovation. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of creativity variables as the main determining factor along with work engagement, work- life balance, and job satisfaction to evaluate employee performance in the high-pressure gypsum manufacturing sector.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a significant social issue affecting human resource quality, community welfare, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Village Living Lab approach in supporting the achievement of SDG 8 through economic empowerment as a strategy to reduce early marriage in Montong Tangi Village. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving village government officials, the Family Assistance Team (Tim Pendamping Keluarga), community and religious leaders, adolescents, and local entrepreneurs selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that the Village Living Lab approach strengthens collaboration among local government, communities, and stakeholders in implementing youth education, literacy improvement, skills development, and local-based economic empowerment programs. This approach enhances adolescents' awareness of the negative impacts of early marriage, encourages educational attainment and economic independence, and increases community participation in preventing early marriage. The study concludes that the Village Living Lab approach contributes to strengthening human capital development and supports the achievement of SDG 8 by improving the economic capacity of rural communities.

Abstract

Reclamation works employing the Cement Pipe Mixing (CPM) method in the Phase 1–2 Patimban Port Project involve environmental risks that may affect water quality, material efficiency, ecosystems, project cost, and schedule. This study aims to identify environmental risks, develop Green Construction-based risk treatments, and evaluate their implications for the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), project schedule, cost, and implementation feasibility compared with the existing CPM approach. A mixed-methods approach based on ISO 31000:2018 was employed through stakeholder identification, identification of 30 environmental risks, development of a risk register, determination of mitigation measures, and formulation of a Green WBS, Green Schedule, and Green Cost. The analysis also compares the resulting Delta Cost and Cost of Risk. The findings indicate that the most significant risks occur during the Dredging and Pipe Mixing stages, with marine water quality representing the largest risk category at 33%. The integration of Green Construction introduces preventive controls, including silt curtains, real-time turbidity monitoring, leak detection, material loss control, emission monitoring, and waste management, without altering the fundamental CPM construction method. The main finding shows that project duration increases from 164 to 175 days, while cost increases from IDR 680.124 billion to IDR 684.304 billion. The resulting Delta Cost is IDR 4.18 billion, equivalent to 0.61% of the baseline cost, compared with an estimated Risk Treatment cost of IDR 8.065 billion. Thus, Green Construction is considered economically feasible on an indicative basis, as the additional mitigation cost is lower than the estimated risk-treatment consequence. The integrated framework also strengthens environmental risk control and supports the principles of SDGs 9, 12, 13, and 14.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of conflict management and interpersonal communication on SPPG employee performance, and tests the moderating role of social support. The sample consisted of 115 SPPG employees across the districts of Kebumen and Cilacap, selected using purposive sampling. The instruments were adapted from the Thomas–Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) for conflict management, a Communication Competence Scale for interpersonal communication, a Workplace Social Support Scale for social support, and Koopmans et al.'s Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) for employee performance. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that conflict management has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, social support has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and social support significantly moderates the effect of conflict management on performance, but does not moderate the effect of interpersonal communication on performance. Managerially, SPPG management should strengthen collaborative conflict-handling styles and build a sustainable workplace social support network to sustain cross-functional performance.

Abstract

This study examined the effects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Product and Service Quality (PSQ) on Corporate Reputation (CR), with National Culture (NC) as a moderating variable, in the context of international hotels in Batam City. Using a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 261 hotel employees through purposive sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicated that both CSR and PSQ had positive and significant influences on Corporate Reputation, and National Culture also showed a significant direct effect. However, National Culture did not significantly moderate either the CSR–CR or the PSQ–CR relationship. These findings suggest that consistent CSR implementation and quality service improvements are universal drivers of hotel reputation, transcending national cultural boundaries. The results offer practical guidance for international hotel managers seeking to strengthen corporate reputation in cross-cultural markets.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic behavior of Generation Z, particularly the Digital Generation, in purchasing decision-making from the perspective of consumer psychology in the social media era. The study employs a descriptive-interpretive qualitative approach using a literature review method. The data consist of relevant national and international journal articles addressing digital consumer behavior, consumer psychology, Generation Z, digital marketing, social media, influencer marketing, purchasing decisions, Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), and digital technology, published between 2020 and 2026. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through the stages of identification, categorization, interpretation, comparison, and synthesis of findings to identify key patterns in digital consumer behavior. The findings indicate that Generation Z’s purchasing decisions are not entirely based on rational considerations of needs, prices, and benefits, but are shaped through the interaction between digital stimuli and consumers’ psychological processes. Social media, digital marketing, influencers, online reviews, viral content, algorithm-based recommendations, artificial intelligence (AI), and the convenience of digital payments serve as stimuli that influence attention, perception, motivation, emotions, trust, perceived risk, social comparison, and FoMO. These psychological processes subsequently influence preferences, purchase intentions, alternative evaluations, purchasing decisions, and tendencies toward impulsive purchasing. This study proposes a conceptual model in which Generation Z’s purchasing behavior occurs through a sequence of digital stimuli → attention and perception → psychological processes → consumer evaluation → purchase intention → purchasing decision. These findings emphasize that Generation Z’s economic behavior should be understood not only from the perspective of rational economics but also through the lens of consumer psychology, which incorporates social, emotional, and digital dimensions into the decision-making process.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the implementation of Storytelling Marketing and Experiential Marketing strategies in the marketing development of Balinese carved handicrafts. Narrative- and experience-based marketing strategies are considered relevant for strengthening consumers’ emotional engagement and enhancing the cultural value embedded in handicraft products. This study employed a qualitative approach using a narrative research method, focusing on four carving craft centers: Singapadu, Sukawati, Celuk, and Marga. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and visual documentation, and were subsequently analyzed using narrative analysis techniques. The findings reveal that the application of storytelling, particularly narratives highlighting cultural philosophies and artisans’ creative processes, can establish strong emotional connections with consumers. Meanwhile, experiential marketing through workshops, studio tours, and direct interactions with artisans enhances consumer appreciation and loyalty. The study also found that integrating these two strategies not only expands market reach but also strengthens cultural identity and improves the competitiveness of Balinese handicraft products in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of education, work experience, digitalization, and workplace facility support on employee compensation, with labor productivity as a mediating variable in the banking sector of Mataram City. An explanatory quantitative design involved 76 purposively selected respondents from a population of 240 employees at three banking institutions. Questionnaire data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4. The results show that education and workplace facility support have positive and significant effects on compensation, whereas work experience and digitalization have no significant direct effects. Labor productivity positively affects compensation and significantly mediates only the relationship between work experience and compensation. The model explains 65.4% of labor productivity variance and 53.1% of compensation variance, with Q² of 0.838.
