Abstract

Gout is a disease due to abnormalities in purine metabolism, this can occur due to oversecretion of uric acid or decreased kidney function. The cause of high uric acid levels will cause an increase like a needle, especially in the joints which will cause pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving bay leaf boiled water on decreasing uric acid levels in the elderly. The method uses a literature study approach. Search for articles using the Google Scholar database. The search results obtained 500 articles consisting of 475 research articles according to the selection of journals for the last 10 years, and 439 articles according to the selection of titles and duplicates. Of the 439 articles, 436 articles were published so that 3 articles were reviewed. The conclusions of the 3 journal articles explain the effect of giving bay leaf boiled water on reducing uric acid levels in the elderly. Shows that there is a difference between the mean value of uric acid levels before giving 7.26 mg/dl of bay leaf boiled water and after giving 2.75 mg/dl of bay leaf boiled water.

Abstract

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are diseases caused by a mix of genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors. The prevalence of NCDs is comparable to that of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and hypertension. Diabetes Mellitus cases were 476 million worldwide in 2019, with 578 million anticipated in 2030 and 700 million predicted in 2045. This is a Systematic Review study that employs the "Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Guideline" and is presented as "Synthesis without Meta-Analysis."All studies chosen for review were found in internet resources such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Emeral Insight. All research examined ranged from 2013 to 2023. The keywords used to search the examined studies were "Programme", "Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus", and "Prevention". Furthermore, the articles chosen all used a cohort research design. The findings of the research were undertaken to determine the most effective T2DM program, particularly preventive measures. The present PROLANIS initiative in Indonesia needs to be strengthened by improving interactions with stakeholders.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death and one of the diseases with the highest incidence in the world. Hypertension can be caused by several factors such as age, gender, personality type, genetic factors, obesity, exercise, diet, lifestyle, stress, and sleep patterns. Poor sleep quality is a factor in the occurrence of physical, psychological, environmental and lifestyle problems. The physical problems caused include a decrease in daily activities, weakness, fatigue, decreased endurance, and instability of vital signs, while psychological factors impact depression, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. Study was to determine the experience of sleep quality in hypertensive patients at the Karanganyar 1 Health Center. The design of this study was qualitative using a phenomenological approach by involving 3 hypertension participants who had poor sleep quality. Three themes that emerged were then used to reflect the objectives of the study, including: 1) perceptions of hypertensive patients about sleep quality 2) problems perceived by hypertensive patients with sleep quality 3) how hypertensive patients deal with sleep quality. All participants experienced poor sleep quality, such as difficulty sleeping, short sleep hours, frequent daytime sleepiness, waking up in the middle of the night, difficulty sleeping again. Abstract

Nurses are the health profession with the most number when compared to other health professions. They play a critical role in disaster management. Competencies related to disaster management are acquired by nurses during their learning process in higher education institutions. One of the challenges in nursing education is the application of theoretical knowledge into practice, particularly in disaster situations. A learning model that can integrate nursing theory with practical skills is simulation-based learning. This research aims to evaluate students' perceptions regarding the implementation of disaster management simulations in the Nursing Disaster course at the Nursing Diploma III Program in Banda Aceh. The respondents of this study were 48 students of the Diploma Three Nursing Program in Banda Aceh. Data collection was carried out through a Likert-scale questionnaire containing questions about students' perceptions of various aspects of simulation implementation. The results of this research indicate that, overall, students' perceptions of the implementation of disaster management simulations in the Nursing Disaster course are very positive.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcers are advanced complications experienced by people with diabetes mellitus that have a negative impact and must be treated immediately. One method that can be done to overcome the incidence of diabetic foot ulcers is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This therapy is known to facilitate wound healing by improving wound tissue perfusion, increasing fibroblast replication and collagen production and increasing phagocytic ability. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to wound healing in diabetic foot ulcer patients. Methods: The method used in this writing is literature review, with secondary data obtained from previous research with empirical studies of the last 10 years, data sources are accessed through the google scholar database, by taking journals that are relevant to the research topic. Results: This study shows that the results that have been carried out on the administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to diabetic foot ulcers, show the ability to heal wounds in a fast time and more effective results. Conclusion: Based on the results of literature review research by collecting several journals, it is concluded that the management of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in diabetic foot ulcer patients is more effective, cost-effective, and increases the prevalence of wound healing.
