HuRuf Journal : International Journal of Arabic Applied Linguistic (e-ISSN : 2798-8821 | p-ISSN : 2798-9402) is a journal which is published by Rumah Jurnal Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bukittinggi, West Sumatera Indonesia. The journal is published twice a year in June and December. HuRuf Journal : International Journal of Arabic Applied Linguistic that focuses on the study of Arabic applied linguistics and Arabic stylistics. How does it affect learning, community life, and the needs of non-Arabic learners in studying Arabic. This journal is also open to discussion of Arabic language learning for specific purposes, this journal is open to the investigation of language attitudes, beliefs, and identities as well as contributions related to the language learning process and language practice inside and outside the classroom. The study of syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, and other aspects of the Arabic language; survey of recent theoretical developments that facilitate accessibility for readers.

Abstract

This research aims to strengthen students' speaking skills. The low quality of speaking learning for Arabic Language Education (PBA) students for the 2023/2024 academic year shows that many students complain when they are appointed to speak in class. They feel confused about determining the material or topic of discussion or are not yet able to speak in class using Arabic. because lecturers have not implemented speaking learning using media so that students are able to develop ideas for finding conversation material and dare to speak Arabic in class. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), on STAINU Kotabumi Lampung second semester Arabic Language Education students with a total of 33 students, data collection techniques in the form of observation, questionnaires, tests and interviews. The use of caricature drawing media can improve speaking learning outcomes for students in the second semester of Arabic Language Education at STAINU Kotabumi Lampung. The results of student learning achievement in cycle I were 57.5% or as many as 19 students. In cycle II the learning completion results were 90.9% or as many as 30 students. Students feel interested when they are involved and active in the process learning. and students are enthusiastic about participating in learning because they use caricature drawing media to strengthen their speaking skills. Active student involvement will create the learning process becomes more meaningful.

Abstract

This research/paper aims to reveal the results of the tests that use the Kahoot App for the students and do not use it, and to reveal the effectiveness of the Kahoot method in teaching he remote listening skill. This research followed a semi-experimental study based on the quantitative approach, and its design consisted of the experimental group and the control group. The researcher used data collection methods, which are direct observation, personal interview, tests and questionnaires. After the researcher analyzed the data, reached the mean of the two tests, the pre-test and the post-test. Based on the average results of the experimental group at a value of 28.75 and the average results of the control group at a value of 16.75, it indicates that the average results of the experimental group are greater than the average results of the control group. And I came to the analysis of the data using the "t" test rule. The result of the arithmetic t0 (t0) is 2.79, so the table is at the level of significance of 5% on the value of 1,686 and the level of significance of 1% on the value of 2,429, and this indicated that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. This means that the use of the Kahoot method in teaching the remote listening skill of the pupils of this school is statistically significant. يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن نتائج الاختبارات التي استخدم فيها تطبيق كاهوت للطلاب والذين لم يستخدموه، وكذلك للكشف عن فعالية طريقة كاهوت في تعليم مهارة الاستماع عن بعد. اتبع هذا البحث منهجًا شبه تجريبي قائمًا على النهج الكمي، ويكون تصميمه من مجموعة تجريبية ومجموعة ضابطة. استخدم الباحث طرقًا لجمع البيانات، من الملاحظة المباشرة، المقابلات الشخصية، الاختبارات، والاستبيانات. بعد أن قام الباحث بتحليل البيانات، توصل إلى متوسط نتائج الاختبارين، الاختبار القبلي والاختبار البعدي. بناءً على نتائج متوسطات المجموعة التجريبية بقيمة 28.75 ومتوسط نتائج المجموعة الضابطة بقيمة 16.75، فإن هذا يشير إلى أن متوسط نتائج المجموعة التجريبية أكبر من متوسط نتائج المجموعة الضابطة. وقام بتحليل البيانات باستخدام قاعدة اختبار "t". وكانت نتيجة t الحسابية (t0) هي 2.79، وبالتالي فإن القيمة الجدولية عند مستوى الدلالة 5% هي 1.686 وعند مستوى دلالة 1% هي 2.429، مما أشار إلى أنه تم رفض الفرضية الصفرية (H0) وقبول الفرضية البديلة (Ha). وهذا يعني أن استخدام طريقة كاهوت في تعليم مهارة الاستماع عن بعد لطلاب هذه المدرسة له دلالة إحصائية.

Abstract

Reading skills in learning Arabic are very important to pay attention to because they are part of the importance of understanding Arabic. With reading skills, someone who learns Arabic will know what reading is good and correct according to the rules and will know the meaning of Arabic reading. This article aims to (1) find out the application of the qiraah jahriyyah strategy in learning Arabic at IAI SKJ Malang (2) find out the difficulties in applying the qiraah jahriyyah strategy in learning Arabic at IAI SKJ Malang and solutions in applying the qiraah jahriyyah strategy to learning Arabic at IAI SKJ Malang. This research is qualitative research based on field studies, data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. In this case, the researcher made direct observations at IAI SKJ Malang and interviewed teachers who taught Arabic language courses, especially in the Arabic Language Education department, semester 3. The results of this research were that the implementation of the qiraah jahriyyah strategy was very good and created positive things for the students, However, there are problems from several factors, namely (1) internal factors, errors in sound system, punctuation and recitation. (2) external factors, resulting from student factors and learning media factors. And the solution is the activeness of a teacher and student which is very important in improving Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Translation activities are often carried out by generation z in the field of education, generation z translates Arabic texts or books related to the material they are studying, so that it is easier to understand the material. However, the translation process does not always run smoothly. There are several problems they face when translating. This research was conducted to identify the difficulties faced by Generation Z when translating. This research uses a qualitative approach with analytical methods. The research subjects here are generation Z who are learning to translate. The author uses a questionnaire to find out the data and analyzes it using descriptive analysis. The results of this research are that there are problems translating Arabic texts for generation z in the Arabic language education study program. Penpen is influenced by linguistic and non-linguistic aspects. This research is motivated by the fact that generation Z is experiencing difficulties, one of which is a lack of understanding of the rules of the Nahwu. Mastering Arabic grammar and morphology is very important in learning the Arabic language, especially in translating it into other languages, so that there is an equal understanding of the meaning.

Abstract

Arabic learning is divided into four skills, including writing skills. The researchers discovered that at Al-ishlah Islamic High School Bukittinggi, many students were making mistakes in writing letters, words, and even Arabic sentences. Additionally, there was a lack of engaging learning materials for developing writing skills. The objectives of this study are (1) To find out the steps for using Scrapbook media in learning students' writing skills at Al-Ishlah Islamic High School Bukittinggi. (2) To find out how much influence the use of Scrapbook media in improving the writing skills of students at Al-Ishlah Islamic High School Bukittinggi. Researchers use quantitative research methods with a Quasi-Experimental approach. The results of this study are (1) The steps for using Scrapbook media in learning writing skills consist of three stages, namely the preparation stage, the application stage, and the evaluation stage. (2) The amount of influence of using Scrapbook media in improving students' writing skills is 70.2%. Researchers concluded that the use of scrapbook media had a positive effect in improving the writing skills of tenth grade students of Al-Ishlah Islamic High School Bukittinggi.

Abstract

The book "Durusul Lughoh al-Arabiyah" is an Arabic learning book that is used widely in Indonesia, especially in Pesantren Modern. There are many discourses on Morphology (Nahwu) in this book that is interesting to be seen deeply. One of these discourses is an-na’tu. This article wants to analyze the various kinds of an-Na'tu and their objectives in the book "Durusul Lughoh al-Arabiyah" juz 1 written by Imam Zarkasyi and Imam Syubbani. The objectives of this research are: To know the sentences in which there are an-Na'tu in the book "Durusul Lughoh al-Arabiyah", and to know the kinds of an-Na'tu and their purpose in that book. Researchers used qualitative research with descriptive methods. To get the data, Researchers used documentation as well as using content analysis to analyze the data. The results obtained by the researcher are: 1) the sentences in which there are an-Na'tu in the book "Durusul Lughoh al-Arabiyah" there are 286 sentences. 2) The types are an-Na'tu al-haqiqi al-mufrod 266 sentences, an-Na'tu al-haqiqi al-jumlah al-ismiyah 13 sentences, and an-Na'tu al-haqiqi syibhu al-jumlah 7 sentences. From this result, perhaps this article will be one of the resources to explore the discourses of Morphology (Nahwu) in this book.
