Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and analyze the implementation of multicultural-based Islamic Religious Education learning. This research method uses library research to collect data from various library sources that are relevant to the research topic. The findings of this research indicate that effective multicultural Islamic Religious Education learning strategies involve recognizing and respecting religious and cultural diversity. Teachers need to have competence in integrating multicultural values in learning and using interactive and participatory methods. This research provides a valuable contribution in developing Islamic Religious Education learning strategies that are inclusive and relevant to multicultural conditions in Indonesia

Abstract

The study aims to examine how to use and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for E-learning learning media used in PAI subjects. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that in its implementation, teachers delivered material in the form of text and video via Whatsapp and Google Classroom while the evaluation of PAI learning was carried out by giving questions to students through Google Form, with the results that a percentage of 58.1% of students could understand jurisprudence learning delivered through E-learning-based media. Although students understand the material, as teachers must still strive so that the evaluation process can run well, because in research it was found that around 10.3% Students strongly agree to freely cheat, as for the supporting factor in the use of E-learning, namely IT mastery that must be owned by every teacher, in this case the school holds an In House Training program related to online learning. Meanwhile, obstacles in the implementation of PAI learning are signals and economic conditions of parents.

Abstract

This research aims to see the effect of using the Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy on the ability of eleventh grade students in reading comprehension of narrative texts at SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. In this study, researchers used a method called quasi-experimental design, which allows researchers to collect numerical data. The population is all class XI students of SMA Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar for the 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 10 classes. The number of students in each class varies, so the total is 360 students. This research sampling involved two classes, namely XI PMIA-1 and XI PMIA-3. Data analysis shows that the experimental class obtained an average post-test score of 86.52, compared to the control class's average score of 80.13. The post-test standard deviation for the experimental class was 6.95, while the control class had a standard deviation of 3.77. Additionally, the standard error of the mean difference was calculated as 3.22. With a significance level of 5%, the T-count value exceeds the T-table value (1.8 > 1.672), so it can be concluded that the T-count is greater than the T-table. This also shows that (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted.

Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of Ice Cream Stick Media to improve students’ ability in reading comprehension of descriptive text at SMP Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar. This research is quantitative research with quasi experimental research design, according to Ary, et al (2010:426) quantitative research is research that gathers numeric data through control procedures and analyses to answer predetermined questions or test hypothesis. The population is the grade eight of SMP Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar with a total of 344 students. The sample of this research is divided into two classes namely experimental class (VIII-7) consist of 30 students that use Ice Cream Stick Media and control class (VIII-6) consist of 30 students that use conventional strategy. The data collection instrument uses a multiple choice for pre-test and post-test. The research finds that the mean of post-test in experimental class is 73.1 and the mean of post-test in control class is 65. After that the researcher find that the ttest is higher than ttable (2.066 > 1.672) at the level significance is 5%. Based on the result finding Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that use Ice Cream Stick Media significantly affects the students’ ability at SMP Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar in reading comprehension of descriptive text.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe and analyze reading comprehension teaching techniques using jigsaw teaching techniques for eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Tapian Dolok. The aim of this research is to determine the effect. Jigsaw Teaching Technique on reading comprehension of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tapian Dolok on descriptive text. This research uses a quantitative type of research with a quasi-experimental design. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling, with a sample of 62 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Tapian Dolok. Two classes were taken as subjects for this research, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data obtained from the experimental class and control class were analyzed using the t-test formula. Researchers found that the post-test average in the experimental group was 83 and the post-test average in the control group was 77. The calculation results showed that at the 5% significance level, the t-count value > t-table (2.4 > 1.671 ). From these results, it appears that there is a significant difference between student achievement in reading comprehension of descriptive texts that use jigsaw teaching techniques and those taught using traditional lecture-based teaching methods. Therefore, the researchers concluded that there was a significant influence of the Jigsaw teaching technique on reading comprehension.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to obtain the empirical evidence about the effect of using video tutorial in teaching writing procedure text at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. The method used in this research was a quantitative method and the research design was a quasi – experimental. The sample of the research was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar. They were VII-9 as the experimental class and VII-11 as control class. Each class consisted of 30 students which was selected by purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was taught by using Video Tutorial while in the control class was taught without Video tutorial. Data collection instruments used writing tests for pre-test and post-test, Jacob et al writing assessment rubric was used in this research, which includes two aspects : content and organization. The result obtained from this research showed it was proven from the mean score of the post-test of students in experimental class was 79,56 and the mean score of pre-test was 49,36 that were taught by using video tutorial which was improved better than the control class, pre-test in the control class was 60,63 and post-test in the control class was 71,73. Moreover, the result of the t-test calculation was 2,865 which is higher than that T count < T table where T count was 2,865 and T table for df 58 = 1,672 ( 2,865 > 1,672) than Hypothesis Alternative (Ha) accepted and Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Thus, the use of Video Tutorial gives significant effect in teaching writing Procedure Text at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar.

Abstract

The objectives of this research was find out whether the using scramble game to develop English vocabulary of grade seven students at SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This research used quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design. The population of this study was the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar with a total of 352 students. The sample of this study was divided into two classes, class VII-7 as the control class consisting of 32 students who used the conventional media and class VII-8 as the experimental class consisting of 32 students who used scramble game. Data collection instruments used multiple choice for pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used in this research is SPSS version 21, by conducting normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. In the post-test results for the experimental class, the average was 79.68, while in the control class the average was 74.53. Based on the hypothesis test using an independent test, it shows a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.016 < 0.05, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of scramble game can improve the English vocabulary of grade seven students at SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine whether the application of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning can improve learning outcomes. This research was carried out at SMA Martia Bhakti Bekasi Jl. Jendral Sudirman Km. 32 Kayuringin Jaya Village, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City. In this research, the samples to be taken are class X.2 as an experiment with a total of 35 students, and class X.3 as a control class with a total of 35 students. So the total sample used was 70 students. The cooperative learning model requires students' skills and cooperation in their groups, training students in critical thinking so that students' ability to understand the subject matter presented can increase. Meanwhile, researchers chose STAD cooperative learning because STAD cooperative learning is the simplest cooperative learning and easiest to apply in classes that have never implemented cooperative learning. Thus, it can be concluded that providing the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model has a positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of Mathematical Logic. From the research results, it can be concluded that providing the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model has a positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of Mathematical Logic.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the Learning Style of EFL Learners in Reading Comprehension at Smpn 2 Pematangsiantar. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. Qualitative methods are research that collect data in the form of words or images, not numbers. This research was carried out in September 2023 and was carried out at SMPN 2 Pematangsiantar which is located at Jl. Rajamin Purba, Sofa Hill, Siantar Sitalasari, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra. The primary data in this research are students. Secondary data in the form of research journals, relevant books. This data was obtained from interviews with research participants, namely class IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar for the 2023/2024 academic year. Researchers conducted research in class IX-11. Data collection is an important step in research, because the main aim of research is to obtain data. The procedures applied to analyze data are data reduction and data display. Researchers found three dominant student learning styles, namely: visual learning style, auditory learning style, then kinesthetic learning style and one combination of learning styles, namely: kinesthetic-auditory/musical. There are three students who have a visual learning style. After that, there were three students who had an auditory learning style, then there were two students who had a kinesthetic learning style, and finally there was one student who had a kinesthetic-auditory (musical) learning style.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the reading aloud strategy on the pronunciation abilities of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. In this research, researchers used quantitative research methods with a quasi-experimental design and pre-test, post-test and control designs. The sample for this research consisted of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 12 Pematang Siantar with an average class size of 32 in the 2022–2023 academic year. There are around 288 students in class VIII. By using this technique, the sample that will be used in this research consists of two classes, namely class VIII-8 as the experimental class and class VIII-9 as the control class at SMP Negeri 12 Pematang Siantar. From the results of research conducted at SMP Negeri 12 Pematang Siantar, it was found that there was an influence of the application of the Scrabble game on mastery of mathematics. This can be seen from the students' average score in the test, namely pre-test 54.21 and post-test 76.09, while the researchers' learning results found that the t-test in this study was 2.14. Based on the previously designed hypothesis formulation, the hypothesis is not rejected if tcount is greater than ttable. The meaning of these results is that students who were taught to use the game Scrabble were better than students who did not use the game Scrabble in the classroom treatment process. After carrying out calculations, the researchers found that in this study the t-count was higher than the t-table. Referring to this, we can put forward the following hypothesis. t-count > t-table 5%, namely 2.14 > 1.670. Because the calculated t-value (2.14) is higher than the t-table (1.670) at the 5% significance level for a two-sided test, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, the Scrabble Game is very effective as a learning support medium, especially in improving mathematics mastery.
