Abstract

This community service program aims to optimize edupreneur literacy among deaf students at SLB Kemala Bhayangkari Gresik by utilizing Damar Kurung artwork as both a learning medium and a creative product. The key problems identified include limited understanding of local cultural wisdom, insufficient entrepreneurial literacy, and restricted market access for students’ creative works. The program was carried out through several stages, including socialization, cultural literacy training on Damar Kurung, workshops on visual artwork production, and training on basic entrepreneurship and digital marketing. The results show significant improvement in students’ ability to recognize Damar Kurung elements, creative drawing skills, confidence in presenting their artwork, and understanding of the economic value of cultural products. Approximately 30 visual artworks were successfully produced as prototypes of creative products. Teachers also experienced improved capacity in developing culture-based instructional media and integrating entrepreneurial concepts into lesson plans. Overall, the program demonstrates that cultural and entrepreneurial literacy can be effectively cultivated through a visual, local wisdom–based approach, supporting the economic independence of deaf students and contributing to the development of the local creative economy.

Abstract

The scarcity of forage during the dry season is a major challenge for goat farmers in Senden Village, Kampak District, Trenggalek Regency. This condition negatively affects livestock productivity and the sustainability of smallholder farming. This community service program aimed to introduce silage technology as an appropriate solution for providing alternative feed that is nutritious, durable, and cost-effective. The implementation methods included socialization, technical training, production assistance, and evaluation of the impact on livestock health and productivity. Local forages such as elephant grass, corn leaves, and banana fronds were chopped, compacted, and fermented using EM4 and molasses. The results showed that the farmers were able to independently produce silage with an initial capacity of 300 kg per month. The program demonstrated tangible impacts, including increased goat weight within two months, reduced feed costs by up to 25%, and the establishment of the Fermented Feed Business Group (Kelompok Usaha Pakan Fermentasi/KUPF), which strengthened farmer solidarity. This program proves that a participatory approach based on simple technology can enhance food security and empower rural communities, and it offers a replicable model for other villages with similar conditions.

Abstract

This community engagement program was carried out at MTs Nurfadhilah, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, an educational environment with strong ecological potential yet underutilized for the development of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). The presence of unmanaged open spaces reflects limited greening initiatives and low levels of knowledge among students and the surrounding community regarding TOGA as a means of promoting self-care and natural health practices. The primary issues include insufficient education on medicinal plants, limited skills in basic cultivation and herbal processing, and low awareness of environmental stewardship. The program addressed these challenges through a series of activities: dissemination of information on the benefits of TOGA, training in sustainable and accessible cultivation techniques—such as vertical gardens and simple hydroponics—workshops on processing herbal products (tea, jamu, and simplicia), and continued mentoring for transforming school land into a functional TOGA garden. Simple technological applications, including QR codes on plants, were introduced to enhance digital herbal literacy. The implementation methods consisted of outreach, training, appropriate technology application, mentoring, and evaluation. The program is expected to improve participants’ knowledge and skills, optimize school spaces as productive green landscapes, and foster a culture of self-reliant health practices rooted in the use of herbal plants.

Abstract

Environmental damagecontinues to be an increasingly worrying issue. In response to this, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has made environmental issues a matter that must beresolved through priority eco-theology programs. This service was carried out to support the Ministry of Religious Affairs' ecotheology programin Sukogidri Village through a socialization program and nature school activitieson waste recycling and planting vegetable seeds for elementary school students. This community service used the participatory action research (PAR) method by directly engagingin discussions about the problems encountered in the community service andfacilitating their resolution. The results of this community service showthat the issue of waste is an important problem to be solved, and that fosteringan environmentally friendly mindset in children must also be done. The results of the socialization and nature school activities showed that elementary school students were very enthusiastic inparticipating in these activities. They listened attentivelyduring the socialization, scrambled to answer questions, and one student evenasked to take his work home to show hisparents. Positive responses also came from elementary school teachers. They fully supportedthis community service activity.

Abstract

The deterioration of irrigation infrastructure in Putat Lor Village, Gondanglegi District, poses a significant obstacle to agricultural productivity due to high sedimentation and the collapse of earthen channel banks. This article discusses the transformation of civil engineering research into a community service activity through the implementation of mountain stone (quarry stone) masonry construction based on community empowerment. The implementation method employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, involving the Water User Farmers Association (HIPPA) from planning and technical training to self-managed construction. The results indicate that the utilization of local Gondanglegi mountain stone offers mechanical advantages in the form of strong interlocking bonds and a cost efficiency of 21% compared to river stone materials from outside the region. Physically, a 100-meter sturdy tertiary irrigation channel has been constructed. Socially, there was an increase in the partners' capacity regarding standard mortar mixing techniques (1:4) and drainage maintenance management. This program recommends the use of local materials and active ommunity involvement as a sustainable model for rural infrastructure revitalization.

Abstract

Sigedang Village has abundant coffee and vegetable agrotourism potential at the foot of Mount Sindoro, but its management has not been optimally integrated. This community service program aims to empower the community, especially the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna), in developing ecotourism through an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The methods used include participatory asset mapping, in-depth interviews, and assistance in digital content creation. The results of the activity show that through an experiential ecotourism strategy, village assets in the form of agricultural activities can be packaged into a systematic "Trekking KEWONO" tour package. In addition, strengthening digital branding through documentary videos has been proven to increase the confidence of local youth in managing village potential. The conclusion of this activity is that effective empowerment must place the community as the main subject to ensure economic sustainability and environmental conservation.
