Abstract

Children with mild intellectual disability (MID) often experience difficulties in social skills, which affect their ability to establish relationships, communicate, and adapt to the social environment. This study aimed to identify various effective treatment efforts to improve social skills in children with MID. This study used the Systematic Literature Review method by searching for articles through Google and Google Scholar using specific keywords. The articles were selected based on inclusion criteria, including publication years from 2015 to 2025, subjects ranging from children to adults, and a study focus on improving social skills in children with MID. From an initial 14,418 articles, 15 articles matched the title and were analyzed further. The review results showed that interventions such as peer tutoring, storytelling, modeling, educational games, digital technology, and collaboration between schools and families were effective in improving the social skills of children with mild intellectual disability. Contextual, enjoyable, and sustainable approaches help children understand social norms, improve communication skills, and build independence in social interaction. Thus, selecting appropriate, adaptive, and sustainable treatment efforts is important to optimally support the social-emotional development of children with MID.

Abstract

The exemplary conduct of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ moral character has received attention in various previous studies, but studies that specifically discuss its implementation in the context of public schools and the dynamics of supporting and inhibiting factors remain limited. This study aimed to explore in depth the implementation of PAI teachers’ exemplary conduct in fostering students’ moral character at SMAN 5 Bukittinggi. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consisted of PAI teachers, students, and school personnel selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that PAI teachers’ exemplary conduct was implemented in various dimensions, including worship, personal morality, communication, discipline, social interaction, and behavioral consistency, which had a positive impact on students’ moral development. However, several student moral problems were still found to be influenced by external factors, such as social media, as well as teachers’ limited time to provide intensive guidance. This finding contributes to the development of Islamic education theory and social learning by expanding understanding of exemplary conduct-based moral character development in the context of modern education. Thus, teachers’ exemplary conduct is a key factor in fostering students’ moral character, so schools need to strengthen religious culture and improve supervision of external influences that may affect students’ behavior.

Abstract

The need to cultivate learning behaviors that improve the quality of Qur’anic memorization from an early age, particularly in Juz 30, provides the basis for this study. This study aims to describe the implementation of tahfiz habituation and explore its influence on the memorization ability of students at MIM Gembuk II. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that tahfiz habituation was implemented through routine practices, particularly muroja’ah and teacher-guided memorization sessions. The program was supported by teachers’ active involvement, a positive school environment, and family participation. Its influence was reflected in students’ improved memorization quality, particularly in terms of accuracy, fluency, and memorization mastery. The study concludes that regularly guided tahfiz habituation can serve as an effective Qur’anic learning strategy at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. These findings contribute to the development of structured memorization practices in Islamic elementary education and highlight the importance of sustained school–family collaboration in strengthening students’ Qur’anic memorization quality.

Abstract

The urgency of oversight over government power has become increasingly critical in the administration of the modern state, which is vulnerable to the abuse of authority and uncontrolled executive discretion. Although previous studies have examined government oversight from the perspectives of administrative law and institutions, these studies tend to be partial and have not integrated legislative oversight, judicial review, and internal oversight mechanisms into a holistic constitutional law framework. This study aimed to analyze the mechanisms for overseeing government power in the Indonesian constitutional law system, evaluate their effectiveness in preventing the abuse of power, identify juridical obstacles, and formulate recommendations for improvement. This study used a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. Data were collected through a literature review of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials from the 2016–2024 period and then analyzed through the stages of inventory, systematization, norm interpretation, and legal construction. The study was conducted from January to August 2024. The results showed that the Indonesian constitutional law system has provided a comprehensive normative framework for oversight through legislative oversight by the DPR, judicial oversight by the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, as well as external and internal oversight through the BPK, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, and APIP. However, the effectiveness of oversight still faces significant weaknesses, as indicated by 29% of BPK audit recommendations not being followed up, Indonesia’s Corruption Perceptions Index score of 34/100 with a ranking of 115/180, and the continued compromise of the institutional independence of supervisory bodies. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that although a comprehensive normative framework for oversight is already available, its effectiveness remains hindered by regulatory disharmony, limited institutional independence, and procedural complexity. This study contributes by offering a reconstruction of an oversight framework based on integrative constitutionalism through regulatory harmonization in an umbrella law, strengthening the executorial authority of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, and modernizing the oversight system through technology-based e-monitoring.

Abstract

Students’ low scientific literacy, particularly in physics topics such as harmonic vibrations, remains a major problem in learning. This condition is partly caused by the use of assessment instruments that are not yet able to measure conceptual understanding in depth and identify students’ misconceptions. This study aimed to analyze the need for developing a four-tier multiple-choice e-assessment as an instrument for assessing students’ scientific literacy. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a needs analysis design. The research participants consisted of eleventh-grade students and physics teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, and then analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques with an interactive model. The results showed that the assessment instruments currently used were still oriented toward lower-order cognitive abilities and had not comprehensively integrated scientific literacy indicators. In addition, students had difficulty understanding physics concepts contextually, while teachers needed assessment instruments that were more diagnostic and technology-based. The conclusion of this study emphasizes a high need for developing a four-tier multiple-choice e-assessment that is able to identify misconceptions and measure students’ scientific literacy more accurately. The implications of this study indicate that the development of this instrument can serve as an innovative solution for improving the quality of physics assessment and learning, while also providing a basis for developing technology-based evaluation that is more effective and aligned with the demands of 21st-century learning.

Abstract

Differences in students’ characteristics and learning tendencies in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning need to be understood by teachers so that the learning process can take place more optimally. One effort that can be made is to map students’ characteristics through the STIFIn test. This study aimed to describe students’ STIFIn test results, PAI learning outcomes, and the profile of PAI learning outcomes based on the STIFIn test mapping of fifth-grade students at SD IT Madani 2 Payakumbuh. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with fifth-grade students of SD IT Madani 2 Payakumbuh as the subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires, documentation of PAI scores, and interviews, and then analyzed by presenting the data in the form of tables and percentages and describing them in accordance with the research objectives. The results showed that the STIFIn test mapping of fifth-grade students revealed diverse intelligence machines, including Sensing, Thinking, Intuiting, Feeling, and Instinct. In general, students’ PAI learning outcomes had achieved learning mastery in accordance with the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) established by the school, although a small number of students had not yet achieved mastery. The STIFIn test result mapping provided an overview of students’ characteristics and learning tendencies that can be used as supporting information for teachers in understanding students’ learning needs in PAI learning. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that mapping students’ characteristics through the STIFIn test contributes to supporting more adaptive PAI learning oriented toward the diversity of students’ learning potential.

Abstract

Railway safety is an important aspect of the public transportation system, particularly at level crossings that have a high risk of accidents. In Pariaman City, especially at the Simpang Lohong crossing, the implementation of railway safety standard policies has not been optimal and has generated various external impacts on the community. This study aimed to analyze the forms of externalities arising from the implementation of railway safety standard policies and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The research informants were selected using purposive sampling, involving PT Kereta Api Indonesia, the Pariaman City Transportation Agency, Balai Teknik Perkeretaapian Class II Padang, as well as local communities and road users. The results showed that there were three forms of externalities, namely ownership externalities, technical externalities, and public goods externalities. Ownership externalities were characterized by the suboptimal division of authority among institutions, technical externalities were reflected in limited facilities and undisciplined road-user behavior, while public goods externalities were indicated by low public awareness in using and maintaining safety facilities. Supporting factors for policy implementation included clear regulations, the availability of facilities, and the active role of relevant institutions. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included budget limitations, administrative constraints, limited human resources, and low public awareness. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the implementation of railway safety policies in Pariaman City has not been fully effective and still requires comprehensive improvement through strengthening institutional coordination, optimizing safety facilities, and increasing public awareness. These findings imply the importance of more integrated level-crossing safety governance within the framework of public transportation policy.

Abstract

Although music arts learning has received attention in several previous studies, research specifically discussing rhythm learning in elementary schools remains limited, particularly regarding the implementation of learning and teachers’ needs in teaching rhythm material. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of music arts learning on rhythm material in elementary schools. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation studies, with the research subjects consisting of classroom teachers who were directly involved in SBdP learning, particularly music arts material. The results showed that music arts learning had not been implemented optimally, especially in the teaching of rhythm. Teachers had not explicitly taught rhythm concepts, such as beat patterns, tempo, and rhythmic patterns. In addition, several obstacles were found, including teachers’ limited understanding of rhythm and the unavailability of a systematic rhythm teaching module. These findings are in line with social constructivist theory and Howard Gardner’s theory of musical intelligence, which emphasize the importance of active and meaningful musical experiences in the learning process. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need to develop a rhythm teaching module that is aligned with the characteristics of elementary school students and teachers’ needs in music arts learning. The implications of this study include enriching studies on music learning in elementary schools and recommending the development of more innovative and contextual rhythm learning tools. This study also opens opportunities for further research on the implementation and effectiveness of rhythm teaching modules in elementary schools.
