Abstract

Background : Hypertension generally affects adults to the elderly. In many countries, the diagnosis of hypertension is made at a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of at least 140 mmHg, and a diastolic blood pressure of at least 90 mmHg. Several studies have reported correlations between sleep duration and chronic conditions, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, and high blood pressure. Purpose : Knowing the effect of sleep quality on blood pressure. Method : This Research is a literature review type. Literature review data was collected by browsing published article on pubmed, science direct, and google scholar databases. Result : Search results obtained (1297) from Pubmed database, (980) articles from Google Scholar, (1001) from Science Direct articles. Most (11/12) studies show that sleep quality and sleep duration have an effect on systolic blood pressure. Conclusion : Poor sleep quality and sleep duration of less than 7 hours, especially less than 5 hours are at risk of increasing the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, the number of diabetics continues to increase from 10.7 million people in 2019 to 19.5 million people in 2021. Indonesia is ranked fifth with the highest number of diabetics in the world. The increase un the number of people eith type- 2 diabetes is due to socio-economic, demographic, environmental and genetic factors. Objective: To find out the patient's perception of type 2 DM about dm management during the covid-19 pandemic. Method: The type of research used in this study is qualitatively descriptive with a phenomenological approach. The sampling process in this study was carried out by purposive sampling while the data retrieval process was done by interview method (indepth interview) and for the length of the interview on each participant which is between 30-45 minutes. Each participant in the study will only be interviewed once and will not be re-interviewed. In this study, data saturation occurred in 5th participants so that the number of samples in this study was as many as 5 people. Results: In this study, researchers identified 3 themes, namely (1) Perception of the relationship of DM with Covid (2) Physical activity of DM patients (3) Diet of DM patients during pandemic. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study researchers concluded that participants in this study partly know that DM is one of the causes of Covid-19, in addition they also know and understand the diet and physical activity carried out to maintain the stability of blood sugar levels during the Covid-19 pandemic. Recommendation: The next suggestion for researchers is it is hoped that researchers will be able to further identify more broadly related to the role of families in treating Covid- 19 comorbid patients by modifying other methods that have been used before.

Abstract

Background : Neurogenic bladder is a condition in which the urinary sphincter is unable to increase or decrease its pressure in response to pressure on the bladder. This occurs due to damage to the central, peripheral, or autonomic nervous systems. Neurogenic bladder in spinal cord trauma patients is a condition that can pose a significant risk to the patient. Many medical and intervention approaches are available today. The goals of treatment for neurogenic bladder are to stop urine leakage due to overactivity of the detrusor muscle during bladder filling, to reduce intravesical pressure and vesicoureteral reflux, and to treat and prevent complications such as urinary tract infections. Purpose : Knowing the various neurogenic bladder management in spinal cord trauma patients. Method : This research is a literature review type. Literature review data was collected by browsing published articles on Pub Med, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases. Outcome : There were 3 articles discussing the use of Clean Intermitten Catheterization (CIC), 4 articles discussing electrical stimulation, and 2 articles discussing Botox. Electrical stimulation can increase bladder capacity and suppress detrusor activity. The use of CIC makes it easier for the patient to submit urine. Botox will inhibit involuntary detrusor contractions. Conclusion : There are various treatments for neurogenic bladder in spinal cord trauma patients, such as the use of intermitten catheters, Botox injections, and electrical stimulation.

Chronic kidney failure is a public health problem in the world with an incidence of 697.5 million cases. Patients with chronic kidney failure on hemodialysis experience a decreased quality of life good from the aspect physical and psychic. Caring behavior is a dynamic approach to help the patient's healing process which is influenced by several factors as work motivation, knowledge, workload and work environment in carrying out their role as implementers of nursing care. The aim of this research is to identifying factors affecting nurse caring behavior toward chornical kidney failure patients who are taking hemodialization, using quantitative methods through a cross sectional approach by doing crosstab. Research sample is 30 nurses with total sampling model. Instrument in this study using questionnaires. The analysis used is the Kendall Tau. From the research result can be found out that the result is that there is correlation between work motivation toward nurse caring behavior at the hemodialysis room with a significance value (p=0,032), there is not any correlation between knowledge toward nurse caring behavior with a significance value (p=0,054), there is not any correlation between workload toward nurse caring behavior with a significance value (p=0,418) and there is not any correlation between work environment toward nurse caring behavior with a significance value (p=0,228).

Abstract

Stroke is a malfunction of the nerves caused by circulatory disorders of the brain. Recovery of post-stroke patients will be hampered by lack of physical exercise so that it can cause dependence, disability and even death. The application of physical exercise is used to overcome paralysis in stroke patients.-based Virtual Reality technology is a technology that is created in the form of a 3-dimensional tool that is controlled by software so that it looks like real. Leap Motion Controller (LMC) game is a technology that can be used as a muscle recovery therapy in the upper extremities. This research is a study to look specifically at the effect of Virtual Reality and Leap Motion Controller as therapy for post-stroke patients..Methods: This research was written as a literature review with a narrative analysis method using databases including PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar. Results: At the article collection stage, 3,347 titles were obtained from 3 search engines. After doing the screening, the authors found 29 articles that matched and met the requirements. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the Leap Motion Controller and Virtual Reality can be used as virtual reality games for physical therapy in post-stroke patients.

Abstract

Background: dementia is a medical condition where there is a decrease in a person's cognitive abilities compared to the previous few months or years. People with dementia experience various types of cognitive difficulties, such as memory, language, attention, orientation, judgment, and planning. Increasing age substantially increases the risk of developing dementia. Apart from age, there are also lifestyle factors that can reduce or increase a person's risk of developing dementia. Approximately 35% of dementia is caused by a combination of 9 risk factors: low education level, hypertension, obesity, hearing loss, depression, diabetes, smoking, social isolation, and low physical activity. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of physical activity and the incidence of dementia. Methods: This study was written as a literature review with a narrative analysis method using databases including Google Scholar, Pubmed, Science Direct. Data search was done using the keyword “Activity Daily Living” OR “Living Daily Activity” OR “Physical Activity” AND “Dementia” OR “Alzheimer Disease”. Results: At the article collection stage, 1.290 titles were obtained from 3 search engines. After screening, the authors found 15 articles that discussed the relationship between levels of physical activity and the incidence of dementia. The authors obtained 5 studies using non-dementia subjects and 10 studies using dementia subjects. Research with non-dementia subjects (before patients develop dementia) shows that physical activity can reduce the risk of dementia. Physical activity training and ADL (Activity Daily Living) in patients with MCI and dementia can increase ADL independence, balance, cognitive function, reduce sleep disorders and depression. Conclusion: there is a relationship between the level of physical activity with the incidence of dementia. High levels of physical activity can reduce the risk of developing dementia in the elderly.
