Abstract

Monitoring management is a systematic process aimed at overseeing, evaluating, and improving performance within an organization, including in educational settings. This study aims to: (1) describe the monitoring management process in supporting the performance improvement of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers at MTs Sunan Gunung Jati Kabuh; (2) identify the factors influencing its effectiveness; and (3) analyze its impact on teacher performance quality. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the monitoring process is implemented systematically through planning, execution, and evaluation stages. Factors supporting effective monitoring include a well-structured work system, teachers’ commitment to self-development, and active support from the head of the madrasah. The implementation of monitoring management has led to increased teacher professionalism and improved instructional quality. These findings affirm that monitoring serves not only as a control mechanism but also as a developmental tool focused on the sustainable enhancement of educational quality.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of the ProFiZ (Profesional Fiqih Zakat) web-based learning media for Grade X students at MA Unggulan KH. Abd. Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang, and evaluates students’ responses to its use. The research is driven by the need for interactive, valid, and practical media to support fiqih learning, particularly in the subject of zakat. The method used is Research and Development (RnD) following the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The media product was validated by media and content experts, then tested with students as end users to assess its feasibility. Validation results showed scores of 89% from the media expert and 94% from the content expert, both classified as “highly valid.” Field testing through questionnaires yielded a student response score of 91%, categorized as “highly practical.” Therefore, the ProFiZ media is considered highly valid and highly practical for use in fiqih zakat instruction and effectively increases student engagement with the subject matter.

Abstract

Arabic writing instruction for Grade X students at Madrasah Aliyah Al-I’dadiyyah Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang has remained predominantly conventional, relying on lectures and textbook-based exercises. This approach limits student engagement and hinders their ability to compose Arabic sentences independently. This study aims to develop, assess the feasibility of, and evaluate the effectiveness of a digital flipbook-based interactive e-book as a learning medium to enhance students’ writing skills. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) following the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, observation, and pretest-posttest assessments. Validation results indicated a very high level of feasibility, with scores of 95% from the subject matter expert, 100% from the media expert, and 96% from students. Effectiveness testing using a Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in students’ writing skills following the use of the interactive e-book. The medium proved effective in enhancing learning interest, active participation, and students’ ability to write progressively and independently. The development of this interactive e-book offers an innovative and accessible learning tool, aligned with the demands of digitalized education and capable of overcoming the limitations of conventional methods.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has prompted local governments to deliver public services through adaptive and effective electronic platforms. One concrete implementation in Payakumbuh City is the MyKopay application, designed as an integrated platform for various public services in support of the city’s smart transformation initiative. However, the functional realization of this application remains suboptimal. This study aims to examine the barriers to the implementation of the MyKopay application as part of the smart city transformation in Payakumbuh. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Technology Acceptance Model 3 (TAM 3) framework. The findings reveal several obstacles, including weak coordination among local government agencies (OPDs), limited technical human resources, low levels of digital literacy among the public, the absence of technical regulations, and insufficient public outreach. These factors contribute to the low adoption and utilization of the application. The study concludes that institutional strengthening, human resource capacity building, the development of supporting regulations, and effective communication and education strategies are essential to ensure that digital applications serve as practical solutions for public service delivery rather than mere symbols of modernization.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the issue of declining water quality due to increasing demand that is not matched by optimal waste management. The objective of the research is to determine the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels in industrial wastewater by comparing the BOD concentrations at the inlet and outlet points of a wastewater treatment system. A quantitative approach was employed, using two samples obtained through purposive sampling. Data were collected through field observation and analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results show a decrease in BOD levels from 3.99 mg/L at the inlet to 3.41 mg/L at the outlet, indicating that the treatment process effectively improves wastewater quality. The main conclusion of the study is that lower BOD levels in a body of water reflect higher oxygen availability, resulting in better water quality that poses less risk to aquatic life and human users. The implications of this research contribute to the existing literature on industrial wastewater BOD analysis and offer recommendations for industries and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness of wastewater treatment systems and implement ongoing water quality monitoring policies. The study also opens opportunities for further research on innovative wastewater treatment technologies and analysis of other water quality parameters such as COD, TSS, and heavy metals.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) by varying the stirring speed during the synthesis of ZnO as a double layer on the TiO₂-ZnO/SDS (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate) semiconductor structure. The research is grounded in the importance of optimizing semiconductor structures to enhance solar energy conversion efficiency. The sol-gel method was used to synthesize ZnO at stirring speeds of 300, 600, 900, 1200, and 1500 rpm. DSSC fabrication was conducted using the doctor blade method with poly tannic acid as the dye. The operating principle of DSSC relies on photon absorption by the dye, where excited electrons are injected into the semiconductor. Efficiency measurements were carried out using a multimeter to obtain voltage and resistance values. The results showed that the highest efficiency of 0.174% was achieved at a stirring speed of 1200 rpm. This finding indicates that stirring speed during ZnO synthesis affects the morphology of the semiconductor, thereby influencing the photon-to-energy conversion efficiency of the DSSC. This study contributes to the development of more efficient DSSCs based on double-layer semiconductor structures through the control of synthesis parameters. Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in developing students’ potential, and with the rapid advancement of information and communication technology, innovation in learning media has become increasingly relevant in creating practical, engaging, and interactive learning experiences. This study aims to design and develop interactive learning media using Adobe Animate for the subject "Microcontroller Programming and Applications" for Grade XI students majoring in Audio Video Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Validation was conducted by two subject matter experts, resulting in a validity score of 94.7%, and by a media expert with an average validity score of 100%, both categorized as “Highly Valid.” A practicality test involving 15 students showed a practicality level of 96%, classified as “Highly Practical.” The results of this study indicate that the developed interactive learning media is suitable and effective for use in the learning process and supports the achievement of student competencies in microcontroller-related material.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of varying additions of red dragon fruit peel (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on the quality of red dragon fruit jam, assessed through moisture content, vitamin C content, pH level, and organoleptic characteristics. The jam was formulated in three treatments: without peel, with the addition of 125 grams of peel, and with 250 grams. An experimental method was employed to measure changes in the composition and physicochemical properties of the jam. The results show that the addition of red dragon fruit peel increased moisture content from 26% to 39% and vitamin C content from 1.584% to 2.024%, while decreasing the pH from 4.9 to 4.4. Organoleptic tests revealed that the addition of 250 grams of peel yielded the highest scores for texture and taste attributes, whereas the characteristic aroma of dragon fruit was more pronounced in the jam without peel. These findings indicate that utilizing red dragon fruit peel positively impacts nutritional value, sensory characteristics, and the potential shelf life of the product. The implications of this study support the use of dragon fruit peel waste as an additive in the development of functional food products that are both economically valuable and environmentally sustainable.

Abstract

Floating net cage (KJA) fish farming in Lake Maninjau faces several challenges, particularly the inefficiency of manual feeding—which requires significant time and labor and often results in uneven distribution—as well as water quality issues caused by pollution and upwelling (tubo) phenomena, leading to mass fish mortality. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based prototype to automate feeding and monitor water quality, thereby improving farming efficiency. The prototype was built using the ESP32 microcontroller, DS18B20 temperature sensor, pH sensor, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, DS3231 RTC module, servo motor, buzzer, LED, and LCD display, following the waterfall development model. Sensor validation was performed using standard instruments such as thermometers and pH meters. The Blynk platform was used for remote monitoring and control via smartphone. The system successfully monitored water temperature within the range of 27–32°C, pH between 6–8.5, and feed levels (0–100%), with a deviation of ±0.01 for pH and 0.0°C for temperature. A total of 150 grams of feed was automatically dispensed at scheduled times (09:00 and 16:00 WIB), with notifications sent via Blynk. These findings demonstrate that the developed system effectively supports more efficient, adaptive, and environmentally responsive fish farming.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the development of interactive learning media for Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (Islamic Cultural History, SKI), amidst the continued dominance of conventional methods that tend to be less engaging and the underutilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which negatively affects students' learning interest and comprehension. The aim of this research is to develop an interactive learning media titled "SKIAN" (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam Animasi), based on the iSpring Suite application, deemed suitable for Grade X SKI subjects at SMA Madinatul Ulum. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The trial subjects included two media experts, one Islamic Education teacher as a content expert, and 20 Grade X students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that the SKIAN media was rated highly feasible by media experts, with average scores of 94% and 84%, considered good by the content expert with a score of 71%, and received a positive response from students with a score of 71.1%. The media proved effective in increasing learning interest, supporting material comprehension, and creating a more interactive and engaging learning environment. The study concludes that SKIAN is a viable innovative alternative for SKI instruction. Its implications include theoretical contributions to the literature on ICT-based learning media and practical recommendations for teachers to integrate technology effectively, as well as suggestions for future researchers to enhance its features and evaluate its effectiveness in broader contexts.
