Abstract

Although the issue of low career readiness among vocational high school graduates has been widely discussed, research that specifically highlights the role of learning motivation as an internal factor influencing students’ career readiness remains limited, particularly in the context of regional vocational schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between learning motivation and career readiness among students at SMK Negeri 01 Karanganyar. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed, involving 169 Grade XII students selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using four-point Likert scale questionnaires whose validity was tested with Corrected Item–Total Correlation and reliability with Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, and Pearson Product–Moment correlation. The results show that all items for both variables are valid (r > 0.152) and reliable (α = 0.812 for learning motivation and α = 0.681 for career readiness), the data are normally distributed (p = 0.200), and there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and students’ career readiness (p < 0.05). These findings contribute to the development of motivation theory and career development theory, particularly in explaining the role of students’ internal factors in their readiness to enter the world of work. The study concludes that learning motivation is an important factor that needs to be strengthened through instructional strategies and career guidance programs in vocational schools, with theoretical implications for enriching the literature on motivation and career readiness, and practical implications for schools in designing interventions to enhance students’ career readiness and opening avenues for further studies on other variables that may influence career readiness.

Abstract

The management of Barang Milik Negara (BMN) plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability and optimization of government assets; however, in practice, various challenges are still encountered, particularly regarding the accuracy of administrative data, the alignment between physical asset conditions and records, and the effectiveness of information system usage. This study aimed to examine the implementation of BMN management at BPK Perwakilan Provinsi Bali and to analyze the factors influencing the effectiveness of asset administration based on Edward III’s policy implementation model, which comprises the dimensions of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through interviews, observation, and document study involving officials responsible for BMN management. The findings show that BMN management has essentially followed established procedures, yet still faces obstacles such as limited human resources, suboptimal internal socialization, differing understandings of asset classification, and technical constraints in the SIMAN V2 application, including unstable internet connectivity and inefficient barcode scanning. These results underscore that the effectiveness of BMN management is strongly influenced by the quality of communication and coordination, improvement of managers’ competencies, upgrading of technological infrastructure, and strengthened periodic physical verification of assets, all of which constitute critical prerequisites for achieving accountable and optimal state asset administration.

Abstract

The use of natural products as anti-inflammatory agents is becoming increasingly important due to the long-term side effects of synthetic drugs. Cantigi (Vaccinium varingiaefolium), an Indonesian mountain plant species, is known to contain various bioactive compounds. This study aimed to explore the potential of compounds from cantigi leaves as COX-2 enzyme inhibitors using a molecular docking approach. A total of 19 compounds were examined through Lipinski screening, ADMET prediction, and docking against COX-2 (PDB: 6COX). The results showed that eight compounds met all Lipinski parameters and thus have potential to be developed as oral drug candidates, while ADMET analysis indicated that α-bisabolol and 2H-tetrazole possess favorable absorption and distribution profiles with minimal toxicity. Molecular docking analysis revealed that ligand 14 exhibited the highest binding energy (ΔG = –7.8262 kcal/mol) and interacted with the His386 residue, the same binding site as indomethacin, thereby suggesting a potentially similar mechanism of action. This study concludes that several compounds from cantigi leaves have promising potential as natural anti-inflammatory agents. These findings contribute to the development of local phytopharmaceuticals based on computational evidence and provide a foundation for further experimental research in the development of effective and safe herbal medicines.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has highlighted the urgent need for effective antiviral agents. Natural products have increasingly attracted attention as potential sources of antiviral compounds due to their structural diversity and relatively favorable safety profiles. This study aimed to evaluate the antiviral potential of bioactive compounds present in Tradicia cochinchinensis honey against the main protease (3CLpro) of SARS-CoV-2 using an in silico approach. Molecular docking procedures were performed on the 3CL protease (PDB ID: 6M2N) and subsequently validated using root mean square deviation (RMSD) analysis. Drug-likeness and pharmacokinetic suitability were assessed based on Lipinski’s Rule of Five and ADMET predictions. Among the 17 compounds tested, luteolin, genistein-O-glucoside, and ellagic acid exhibited the lowest binding free energies (−7.94, −7.74, and −6.11 kcal/mol, respectively), which were comparable to the reference compound ritonavir. Luteolin and ellagic acid showed stable binding conformations with RMSD values below 2 Å, whereas genistein-O-glucoside demonstrated slightly higher conformational flexibility. Further evaluation indicated that luteolin fulfilled Lipinski’s criteria and possessed a more favorable ADMET profile than the other compounds. These findings suggest that luteolin is the most promising candidate among the compounds investigated as a potential inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 3CL protease, although validation of its antiviral activity and safety still requires additional in vitro and in vivo investigations.

Abstract

Mobile-based academic evaluation systems, such as Computer-Based Tests (CBT), are vulnerable to cheating, including impersonation (proxy test-taking) and illegal collaboration, thereby necessitating more reliable monitoring mechanisms to safeguard exam validity. This study aimed to develop and implement a Face Recognition feature utilizing Google ML Kit as a monitoring system in the CBT Edu application and to examine user responses to its implementation. The research employed a research and development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), with exam participants and prospective users as the subjects and Google ML Kit as the research object. Data were collected through questionnaires used to assess system functionality and user experience. The results show that the Face Recognition-based exam monitoring system was successfully designed and implemented in the CBT Edu application. Functional testing using white-box and black-box methods validated all features, while device compatibility and bandwidth consumption testing demonstrated stable performance across various devices and network conditions. User responses measured using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) fell into the “very good” category, with the six dimensions of Attractiveness (5.93), Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty (5.72) achieving average scores above 5.7. These findings indicate that the integration of Face Recognition in the CBT Edu application is effective in enhancing exam validity and provides a practical solution to minimize cheating in mobile-based academic evaluation systems, while simultaneously delivering a positive user experience.
