Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of mediation in resolving divorce cases at the Sangatta Religious Court under Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) No. 1 of 2016 on Mediation Procedures in Courts. It employs a socio-legal method combining the statute approach and the sociological approach. Primary data were drawn from interviews with mediating judges and the court registrar, secondary data from statutory regulations, and tertiary data from legal dictionaries. The analysis is built on Soerjono Soekanto's theory of legal effectiveness, which identifies five factors the substance of the law, law enforcers, facilities and infrastructure, society, and legal culture  as indicators of successful law enforcement. The findings show that mediation has been carried out in accordance with Perma No. 1 of 2016, yet its success rate remains low: of 2,351 divorce cases mediated between 2022 and 2024, only 212 cases (9.02%) reached a peaceful settlement. This low effectiveness is attributable to the limited number of certified mediators, the absence of non-judge mediators, a caseload disproportionate to the time allotted for mediation, and weak good faith among the parties. The study recommends strengthening mediator capacity and numbers, involving certified non-judge mediators, and providing legal education to the public as strategic steps to reduce the divorce rate in Sangatta.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive hospitality industry requires companies to strengthen their competitiveness through effective human resource management. One of the key factors influencing organizational competitiveness is employee job satisfaction. Amarterra Villas Resort Bali Nusa Dua , Autograph Collection faces challenges in maintaining employee job satisfaction, as indicated by fluctuating employee turnover rates and gaps between employees' expectations and their perceived working conditions. This study aims to determine the level of employee job satisfaction, map job satisfaction attributes using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method, and formulate improvement strategies to enhance employee job satisfaction in order to strengthen the company's competitiveness. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 45 employees selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and analyzed using validity testing, reliability testing, conformity level analysis, and the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results indicate that the average conformity level of employee job satisfaction reached 99.46%, suggesting that employees' expectations have generally been fulfilled. However, several attributes remain priorities for improvement (Action), particularly those related to salary, promotion opportunities, certain aspects of coworker relationships, and the relationship between employees and supervisors. Meanwhile, attributes associated with supervisor recognition, the work itself, and several coworker-related aspects fall into the Hold category and should therefore be maintained. The findings are expected to provide managerial recommendations for improving employee job satisfaction as a strategic effort to enhance the competitiveness of Amarterra Villas Resort Bali Nusa Dua, Autograph Collection.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital banking services has encouraged banks to continuously improve the quality of mobile banking applications to enhance customer satisfaction and foster long-term loyalty. This study aims to examine the influence of End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) on customer satisfaction and loyalty among users of the BPD Bali Mobile application at Bank BPD Bali Nusa Dua Sub-Branch, as well as to investigate the effect of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty. A quantitative research approach was employed using a simple random sampling technique involving 96 active BPD Bali Mobile users. Data were analyzed using path analysis, with EUCS measured through five dimensions: content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and timeliness. The findings indicate that respondents perceived EUCS (3.72), customer satisfaction (3.68), and customer loyalty (3.86) to be at a good level. Hypothesis testing revealed that EUCS has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction (β = 0.113; p < 0.001) and customer loyalty (β = 0.083; p < 0.001). Furthermore, customer satisfaction also exerts a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty (β = 0.190; p = 0.020). These findings suggest that improving the quality of the BPD Bali Mobile application to better meet users' needs enhances customer satisfaction, which subsequently strengthens customer loyalty. Therefore, Bank BPD Bali should continue optimizing its digital banking services, particularly in terms of system stability and ease of use, to improve user experience and sustain long-term customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of environmentally responsible procurement in supporting environmental sustainability at a 5-Star Hotel, focusing on supplier selection that meets environmentally friendly criteria and on procurement processes oriented toward reducing, reusing, and recycling materials. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with the procurement manager, procurement staff, and Head of Receiving. The results show that environmentally responsible procurement has been implemented based on the responsible sourcing guidelines of the international hotel network, but has not yet fully met all supplier selection criteria and has not fully eliminated single-use packaging, so its impact on environmental sustainability has not been significant. This finding confirms the importance of consistent implementation of environmental policy at the operational level.

Abstract

Emerging adulthood requires university students to achieve academic success while simultaneously preparing for their future careers, making them vulnerable to experiencing both academic anxiety and career anxiety. The high unemployment rate among university graduates and the uncertainty of the labor market in Indonesia further emphasize the importance of examining the relationship between these two forms of anxiety, as studies specifically investigating their association remain limited. This study aimed to examine the relationship between career anxiety and academic anxiety among university students in Indonesia. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 1,062 active diploma and undergraduate students aged 18–26 years from 23 provinces and 73 cities in Indonesia, selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Academic Anxiety Scale (AAS) and the Career Anxiety Scale (CAS). Because the data were neither normally distributed nor linearly related, they were analyzed using the Spearman's rho non-parametric correlation test. The findings revealed a weak positive relationship between career anxiety and academic anxiety (r = 0.224, p = 0,000 <0.05).

Abstract

University students frequently encounter academic challenges, including understanding course materials, completing assignments, and meeting academic deadlines, which may increase stress and reduce concentration, thereby affecting their willingness to seek academic assistance. Perceived social support has been considered a potential factor that encourages academic help-seeking behavior. This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived social support on academic help-seeking among university students. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 1,062 active university students from 73 cities across 23 provinces in Indonesia, selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and the Academic Help-Seeking Scale. Simple regression analysis was performed to examine the relationship between the variables. The results revealed that perceived social support did not have a significant effect on academic help-seeking behavior among university students (β = 0.021, p = 0.524, R² = 0.000). These findings indicate that perceived social support cannot be considered a predictor of students' tendency to seek academic assistance when experiencing learning difficulties. The study suggests that other psychological, personal, or contextual factors may play a more substantial role in influencing academic help-seeking behavior. Further studies are recommended to investigate additional variables that may better explain students' decisions to seek academic support.

Abstract

This article examines the legal design of the General Elections Commission (KPU), the variability of its workload across the electoral cycle, and its implications for fiscal accountability. The study employs normative legal research using statutory, conceptual, historical, and limited comparative approaches. Primary legal materials comprise the 1945 Constitution, electoral legislation, state-finance legislation, and relevant Constitutional Court decisions. The findings demonstrate that positive law does not leave the KPU without functions between formal electoral stages because voter-data maintenance, public education, evaluation, reporting, system management, and institutional preparation continue throughout the cycle. Nevertheless, existing regulations do not adequately distinguish the permanent institutional core, continuous services, and temporary surge functions or connect them with measurable workload, staffing, performance, and budget standards. Accordingly, the central problem concerns legal calibration and accountability rather than a proven normative vacuum or fiscal loss. The study recommends maintaining a permanent and independent KPU while introducing cycle-responsive staffing, budgeting, performance indicators, and periodic functional and fiscal audits. The PPU–UTKN model should remain a long-term constitutional alternative requiring stronger empirical and constitutional justification.

Abstract

The eruption of Mount Lewotobi has significantly affected communities in Wulanggitang District, requiring the involvement of multiple actors in disaster management. This study aims to analyze multi-actor roles in implementing disaster management policy through the dimensions of expectation, norm, and performance. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with 17 purposively selected informants, and document analysis. The data were examined using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, while validity was established through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings show that the local government, BPBD, Social Service, village governments, NGOs, volunteers, media, private sector, and communities performed roles broadly consistent with their functions. Their collaboration supported evacuation, evacuee registration, logistics distribution, emergency education, and psychosocial services. Nevertheless, role gaps remained in early information delivery, evacuation transport, equitable aid distribution, permanent housing, and interagency data integration. Limited personnel, funding, community preparedness, and sociocultural considerations also constrained implementation. The policy was therefore moderately effective but requires stronger early-warning systems, integrated data, institutional capacity, and sustainable socioeconomic recovery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model on the reading comprehension ability of grade VI students of SDI Manumuti. The study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research sample amounted to 23 students in grade VI of SDI Manumuti who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was in the form of reading comprehension tests provided before and after the application of the Think Pair Share learning model. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics through the paired sample t-test. The results showed that the average pretest score was 59.56, while the average posttest score increased to 83.04 with a mean gain of 23.48. These results show that the application of the Think Pair Share learning model is able to significantly improve students' reading comprehension skills. The stages of independent thinking, discussing in pairs, and sharing the results of the discussion (share) provide opportunities for students to actively build understanding, improve critical thinking skills, and strengthen the ability to find main ideas, important information, and conclude the content of the reading. Thus, the Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative to the Indonesian language learning model to improve the reading comprehension ability of elementary school students.

Abstract

The competitive hotel industry requires hotels to build an image that differentiates them from competitors, including an image as a family hotel. This study aims to analyze how a family-hotel image is formed when the public that experiences a program and the public that evaluates it are different parties, using the children's cooking class program at Lynn Hotel Mojokerto as a case. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed; data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with seven purposively selected informants (hotel management, event organizer, school, and parents), and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with source and technique triangulation. The findings show that the family-hotel image is formed through Jefkins' four stages of image formation, yet with a distinctive characteristic, namely a split in public roles: children act as the experiencing public, whereas parents act as the evaluating public who ultimately form and retain the image. The two are connected through direct observation and emotional re-narration, and direct experience proves to be a more effective channel for introducing the hotel than formal promotion. This study enriches image theory for family-based services and recommends managing programs that satisfy both publics simultaneously.
