Abstract

A midwife is a woman who has completed a midwifery education program both domestically and abroad which is legally recognized by the Central Government and has met the requirements to practice midwifery. In carrying out their duties, midwives need good quality. Midwife competence is the ability and characteristics that include knowledge, skills and professional attitudes in carrying out their duties and work effectively that must be owned by a midwife, but in reality the midwife has not fully carried out her duties according to professional competency standards and gaps from ideal conditions and has not been carried out effectively. Midwives are health workers who are qualified to contribute to reducing maternal and child mortality and play a role in reducing stunting rates, this is because midwives are directly involved with women who are program objectives. Knowledge of midwives that has an impact on behavior where with good knowledge of midwives about stunting prevention, the better the knowledge of midwives, the better the quality of Ante Natal Care (ANC) services in preventing stunting. Training is a process of increasing systematically and in accordance with the needs of employees by increasing skills, knowledge and understanding as well as self-motivation. The development of a Participatory Innovative Collaborative (Pillar) training management model is an intervention model that has been analyzed, developed, tested, revised and implemented to obtain feedback that has an effect on the training objectives.

Abstract

Rice yield potential in average still below achievement. Weed control process in rice cultivation one of key driver to increase yield and selective herbicide application adoption become main factor. There is indication rice farmer have low adoption to application rice selective herbicide. The purpose of this study to get clarifiy from farmer perspective regarding purchase decision factors for rice selective herbicide of farmers perspective. The method of this research use qualitative methods by study case approach with in-depth interview (IDI), focus group discussion (FGD) and composite performance index (CPI) among five rice key farmers as informants. The result of this study are price is main purchase decision factor of rice selective herbicide product compare quality, time and flexibility application. Promotion activity that conducted by private sector play important role in determining key buying decision factors in rice selective herbicide.

Abstract

Fresh water generator is an auxiliary aircraft aboard a ship that produces fresh water by evaporating seawater in the evaporator and the seawater is cooled by condensation in a distillation vessel or condenser (condenser), thus producing condensed water called condensate. Fresh water generator running optimally is one of the important factors to support ship operations, especially the results of the fresh water generator used for cooling systems and daily needs on board. This study aims to find out the causes of the problems and efforts that occur in the fresh water generator so that it can maintain fresh water production results in the fresh water generator. While data analysis is to identify the data set that has been obtained, so that the data can be analyzed and the purpose is analyzed in order to get a clearer picture in the preparation of this research both from the problems and the final results. It is hoped that this research research can produce ideas, solutions and appropriate problem solving, both in observing and dealing with the problems raised in this study. Based on research on fresh water production on fresh water generators in MT. Rubra has decreased from 19 tonnes/day to 12 tonnes/day. This is caused by the occurrence of salt deposits on the evaporator plate so that evaporation becomes late and the low pressure of sea water leading to the fresh water generator causes fresh water production to decrease

Abstract

Air compressors are auxiliary machines on board that can produce high pressure air. This research was conducted because the productivity of the air compressor was less than optimal, causing air production and the performance of the air compressor to be less than optimal and disrupting operational activities on the ship. The impact that occurs when air production is reduced in the air compressor, the ship cannot operate according to the contract specified by the company, because the initial start of the main engine or main engine on board requires compressed air. Many factors can cause reduced production of air produced by air compressors, including the lack of performance of the suction valve and exhaust valve on the high pressure section which causes less maximum or longer time for filling air into the air bottle, low flow of the lubrication system on the piston which causes no compression to produce air. This research was carried out with the aim of identifying and analyzing the causes of the lack of performance of the suction and exhaust valves on high pressure sections and low flow of the piston lubrication system which results in less optimal performance of the air compressor when filling into air bottles. The method used in this study uses a qualitative descriptive method using primary and secondary data collection approaches and techniques. The lack of performance of the inlet and exhaust valves can be corrected by cleaning the carbon deposits on the valves and leveling the valve surfaces. The low flow of the lubrication system on the piston can be done by checking the lubricating oil pump, cleaning the lubricating oil filter, changing the lubricating oil periodically according to the instruction manual book, and adding lubricating oil according to the specifications of the air compressor.

Abstract

Prevention of contamination by sewage on ships can be overcome by using an auxiliary sewage treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant is a liquid waste treatment installation which is generally intended for domestic waste in the form of feces and laundry residue containing detergents which are harmful to the environment by utilizing aerobic bacteria as waste decomposers and UV sterilizers as a neutralizer for waste parameters. However, in reality when the author and engineer 3 conducted regular tests on the processed water content of the sewage treatment plant from May 4 2021 to May 25 2021, the results of the waste parameters were not in accordance with the manual book. So, according to the test results above, the authors take 3 causes for the decline in the quality of processed water which is the background for writing this thesis, namely the operation of the aeration blower is ineffective, the UV sterilizer does not function properly and the accumulation of sludge or excessive solid residue in the separation tank section. The research method used is descriptive. The approach method used is a qualitative approach method with data collection techniques carried out by means of observation and documentation based on data analysis techniques carried out using root cause analysis (RCA) techniques carried out on the MV ship. CK ANGIE from 11 December 2020 to 24 January 2022. the operation of the aeration blower is ineffective, If the uv sterilizer does not function properly, the cause of the problem is the dirty blower air filter and dirty blower air inlet pipe and the uv sterilizer section is caused by the life of the uv lamp which has exceeded running hours and the uv jacket is dirty. And for engine cadets to pay attention to the exhaust air pressure from the aeration blower so that when the exhaust air pressure from the aeration blower starts to decrease, they can immediately report it to the engineer in charge. suggestions for maintaining the performance of the UV Sterilizer are to pay more attention to the usage period or running hours of the UV Lamp so that the effectiveness of the UV Lamp continues to function properly. And for the jacket section of the UV sterilizer to be cleaned regularly by implementing a regular planned maintenance system (PMS)..

Abstract

Ultraviolet water sterilizer is a long cylindrical device used for the sterilization of water into drinkable water. Ultraviolet water sterilizer has two main parts: an adapter and UV tubes. The adapter serves to drain the ratio of electricity according to the voltage and current required by ultraviolet water sterilizer. UV tubes contain ultraviolet lamps where light is the main equipment for making the water drinkable and the water will flow along with the ultraviolet rays, so that the water flowing in the tube is passed through the sterilization process with ultraviolet rays so that the water is unfit for consumption. The problems that the authors take in this study are the factors that affect the declining quality of sterilization, the impact of what happens when the quality of sterilization decreases, and what efforts are made to keep the quality of sterilization is not decreased. The data was collected through observations, interviews, and literature directly related to the subject related to the factors, the impact, as well as the efforts of the decline in the sterilization process to the sterilizer in order to improve the quality of drinking water. The cause of the decline to the sterilization process in order to improve the quality of drinking water in MV. PAN EPIC that dirty filters, dirty water tubes, and the dirty ultraviolet lamp or resulting in less fresh water, complaints against the company, as well as the ship's operational costs are reduced. Therefore some efforts are made to improve the quality of the results of sterilization including cleaning filters, cleaning water tubes, and also cleaning the germicidal lamp,

Abstract

Various types of marine vessels require fuel to drive the main engine and auxiliary engines. The fuel requires hot steam as a heater so that the fuel reaches the appropriate temperature, not only fuel but hot steam is also needed for the accommodation space on the ship. The steam boiler is a closed vessel that can produce hot steam with a pressure greater than one atmosphere, to be able to produce hot steam, a heated medium is needed, namely fresh water. The water used in the steam generation process greatly affects the condition of the boiler. Therefore, the quality of water in the boiler must always be considered and maintained so that it is always in good condition, so that the boiler will always be in prime condition. In reality, steam boilers often experience disturbances, such as on the MV. ILE DE RE there is a decrease in the quality of boiler water and the occurrence of scale in the boiler. In this case, the research used an observation research method on boiler water by testing boiler water and it was found that the quality of boiler water was not up to standard with low pH levels up to 6.8, high alkalinity and high chloride up to 200 ppm. there is also a scale formation on the boiler water pipe which can be seen from the dirty condition of the boiler water when taken.

Abstract

The main engine sea water cooling pump is a type of centrifugal pump as one of the pumps that is often found in the ship machinery industry working on the principle of impeller rotation as a fluid transfer element driven by a propulsion engine. The liquid inside will rotate due to the impetus of the blades and cause a centrifugal force which causes the liquid to flow from the middle of the impeller and out through between the blades and leave the impeller at high speed. The sea water cooling pump has a very important role in supporting the cooling system process on the main engine. If the coolant pump does not work properly, it will result in a less than optimal cooling system. Like the problems the author experienced when carrying out sea practice on the MT ship. This causes problems with the lack of maximum performance from the pump impeller and pump vibrations that are too high. which resulted in affecting the performance of the main engine and disrupting the operation of the ship. The purpose of this research is to find out the cause of the less than optimal performance of the impeller on the pump and find a solution. and to find out the cause of too high vibration in the pump and find a solution. While this research method is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of this study are expected to be useful in science as a contribution to ideas related to the analysis of the performance of seawater cooling pumps to support ship operations.

Abstract

This research aims to Design and Development of Real-Time Monitoring & Controlling Infant Incubator with Tilt Stabilizer Using Raspberry Pi Remotely Controlled via PC and Smartphone to Reduce Tilt during Baby Transfer. An experimental approach was used, involving data collection, controller determination, hardware design, circuit schematics, software design, and user interface development. Raspberry Pi was selected as the controller due to its sufficient GPIO pins for reading sensors and operating actuators. The tilt stabilizer was created using NEMA 17 stepper motor and a self-designed flexible screw nut to ensure precise tilt adjustment. During testing, the system demonstrated reliable performance, verified through analysis of test data and sensor readings on the HDMI-connected screen, and remote accessibility via PC and smartphone using the internet. The incubator's temperature consistently maintained 37°C using PID control. On an inclined surface of 20°, the tilt stabilizer effectively maintained a stable 10° inclination during baby transfers.
