Abstract

Vocational education currently requires students to be more active, creative, independent, explore their knowledge and abilities in carrying out learning activities. Therefore, teachers are required to choose the right learning model so that students are more motivated when carrying out learning, one of which is the Technical Drawing subject which is a basic subject that must be mastered by vocational students. The Project Based Learning learning model is an educational approach that emphasizes learning through direct involvement of students in projects that are real and relevant to everyday life. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Project Based Learning model on learning activities and student learning outcomes. The research method used is literature review, the author analyzes several journals, articles, or reading sources that are relevant to the related title. Through this analysis, it was found that Project Based Learning has a positive influence on student activeness during learning activities and increased student learning outcomes. This article contains an analysis of the effect of applying Project Based Learning in Engineering Drawing courses to provide insight for educators in determining effective learning models.

Abstract

This article explores the importance of integrating the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in the context of building engineering education, with a focus on the engineering mechanics field. PBL is a learning approach that challenges students to solve complex problems, providing benefits such as the enhancement of essential problem-solving skills and improved academic performance. Research suggests that implementing PBL methods has been successful in enhancing student achievement across various disciplines, including engineering mechanics. The findings indicate that the use of PBL has a significant positive effect on student learning outcomes, with the extent of impact influenced by factors such as student-teacher interaction, learning environment, and student motivation. Furthermore, the study highlights the effectiveness of PBL in enhancing students' problem-solving abilities. Therefore, the article concludes that the adoption of PBL can be a valuable learning strategy for improving student performance in the field of building engineering, particularly within the realm of engineering mechanics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the results of optimizing the application of expository learning strategies in Engineering mechanics courses. The research data is obtained from the analysis of relevant articles related to the discussion of the application of expository learning strategies in Engineering mechanics courses. The research method uses a literature review that involves studying, observing, and critically evaluating previous research sources on the topic. The research results are written using a qualitative descriptive approach. Studies conducted on many previous studies show that the application of this expository learning strategy is very optimal and effective in Engineering mechanics courses.

Abstract

Blended Learning is a learning method that integrates online learning with traditional methods that require the physical presence of teachers and students in the classroom. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Blended Learning allows the use of applications such as WhatsApp and Google Classroom for online learning. The focus of this research is the use of AutoCAD in teaching technical drawing at vocational schools. AutoCAD was chosen because of its superiority in accuracy, efficiency, and ability to produce three-dimensional drawings. However, some students face difficulties in understanding drawing learning with AutoCAD, which has a negative impact on their learning process. Therefore, the Flex model in Blended Learning is used to increase learning effectiveness. This model gives students control over their own learning path with face-to-face support from teachers. In the context of online learning, teacher creativity and parental support are very important to create a fun and productive learning environment for students. Online learning can also increase student independence, discipline and creativity, although it requires readiness from all parties involved.

Abstract

Vocational Building Engineering Education plays a crucial role in producing skilled workforce required in the construction industry. In this digital era, traditional teaching methods are no longer adequate. This article discusses the implementation of blended learning strategy in electrical installation competency in Vocational High Schools (SMK). By combining online and face-to-face learning, students can engage flexibly and actively. Literature studies indicate that blended learning effectively enhances learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. Thus, this approach enables the optimization of building engineering skills in SMK.

Abstract

In the course of Soil Mechanics & Road Engineering, students only receive instruction from teachers and do not have the opportunity to learn freely or systematically. Therefore, the education system should be more interactive and engaging to enable students to learn more freely and systematically. Teachers should have the ability to make the material more interesting and influential so that students can understand it better. The method used is Literature Review, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various sources of literature, such as articles, books, slides, and internet information, is known as a literature review process. Literature review is used in road engineering education to support students' knowledge and skills. In the subject of Soil Mechanics & Road Engineering, the application of project-based learning with a constructivist approach is an appropriate choice. This approach enhances learning performance and helps students achieve their learning goals. According to the project, learning increases students' ability to solve transportation problems in the field, enhances their teamwork skills, increases their enthusiasm, and makes them more independent and creative. The use of project-based learning (PBL) models in the Soil Mechanics & Road Engineering course can help students improve academic quality, skills, and understanding of building construction. Project-based learning with a constructivist approach can improve students' learning performance and achieve learning goals. The project-based learning model has a positive effect on learning, such as making it easier for students to understand the material during learning.

Abstract

Vocational High School (VHS) majoring in Building Engineering plays a crucial role in enhancing students' understanding of structural concepts. The utilization of software in teaching at VHS not only aids students in comprehending theories but also provides them with real-world experiences, enabling them to apply these concepts in everyday life situations. Through integrated case studies and simulation projects within the curriculum, students deepen their understanding of both theory and practice, thus enhancing their overall comprehension. The impact of using structural analysis software in teaching engineering mechanics at VHS majoring in Building Engineering extends beyond the classroom, significantly influencing the quality of technical education as a whole. By preparing students for challenges in the workforce, the use of this software contributes significantly to producing graduates who are ready to compete and succeed in the construction industry. Therefore, the integration of technology in education at VHS Building Engineering not only enriches students' learning experiences but also opens doors to better career opportunities in the future.

Abstract

Problem-based learning (PBL) has become a major focus in technical and vocational education, especially in the context of Construction Implementation and Supervision subjects in Vocational High Schools. This article aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the literature examining the use of PBL methods in the mentioned context. Through a comprehensive literature review, I explore various aspects, including implementation approaches, benefits gained, as well as challenges faced in applying PBL in construction learning. In addition, I also identified current trends or media in the use of PBL and considered its implications for learning in Schools. The results of this study not only provide valuable insights for educators and administrators in Vocational High Schools, but also serve as a foundation for further research in an effort to improve the effectiveness of engineering learning at the Vocational High School level, as well as enrich academic discussions on innovative learning approaches.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method using Sketchup software in improving vocational school student learning outcomes in building interior software application (APLIP) subjects. PjBL engages students in real projects, enhancing critical thinking, creativity and collaboration skills. Sketchup, as an intuitive 3D design tool, helps students understand spatial and aesthetic concepts and improves industry-relevant technical skills. This research uses a literature review of articles published in 2020-2024, analyzing 10 of 40 relevant articles. The research results show that the PjBL method with Sketchup improves students' understanding and skills significantly. Obstacles found include limited access to technology, lack of training for teachers, and resistance to changes in learning methods. However, the application of PjBL with Sketchup has proven effective in preparing students to face the needs of modern industry, increasing learning motivation, and producing graduates who are more competitive in the job market. Technological support and ongoing training are needed to overcome these obstacles and maximize the benefits of the PjBL method in vocational education.

Abstract

Vocational education requires the effective role of digital learning media in shaping student personality development. This study aims to analyze how the use of digital learning media can influence student personality development in vocational education. The results show that the use of digital learning media can increase student motivation, self-directed learning, and adaptability to change. Other positive impacts include eliminating spatial and temporal limitations, clarifying information, and reducing unnecessary costs. However, some challenges were found, such as not all schools having sufficient facilities and infrastructure to support learning processes using digital learning media. Therefore, this study recommends that the development of digital learning media should be tailored to student needs and abilities, considering existing limitations. In this way, digital learning media can become an effective tool in shaping student personality development in vocational education.
