Abstract

Research reports are important in the preparation of historical writing. Through the research report, we can pour the flow of history that occurs based on historical writing methods, such as heuristics, criticism (verification), interpretation, and historiography (the stage of writing history). By following the historical writing method, it can then be developed and compiled in the form of a research report. The writing of this article uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and uses the literature study method. The literature study method is a research method by collecting library data and processing the data. Historiography is the result or work of historical writing. This historiography uses research methods to communicate the results of research that are tested, revealed, and interpreted. Historians in pouring the results of their research into the text of their reports or scientific works must comply with applicable historical writing rules. Historiography is historical writing that is preceded by research (analytical) of events in the past. The subject matter in historiography talks about the history of historical writing or in a more practical context it can be understood.

Abstract

Lirik lagu bukan hanya sekadar rangkaian kata atau ungkapan artistik, tetapi memiliki fungsi komunikatif. Fungsi ini dimanifestasikan dalam bentuk interaksi tidak langsung antara penulis lagu dan pendengarnya. Dalam menjalankan fungsi ini, penulis lagu menggunakan tindak tutur ilokusi untuk berinteraksi dengan pendengar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis tindak tutur ilokusi dalam lirik lagu Gala Bunga Matahari karya Sal Priadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk memberikan gambaran yang mendalam tentang jenis-jenis tindak tutur yang muncul dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Data berupa transkripsi lirik lagu diperoleh dengan menerapkan teknik simak dan catat. Kemudian, data dianalisis dengan mengadopsi model analisis data interaktif yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu Gala Bunga Matahari mengandung beragam jenis tindak tutur ilokusi, yaitu direktif, asertif, ekspresif, dan komisif. Dari analisis data, ditemukan bahwa tindak tutur direktif adalah jenis yang paling dominan dalam lirik. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya ajakan atau permintaan dari penutur kepada mitra tutur untuk melakukan tindakan tertentu.

Abstract

This research was motivated by errors in writing anecdote texts by students. This is due to students' lack of interest in writing and students' lack of ability to express their ideas correctly according to the applicable spelling. Based on the results of interviews, students pay less attention to linguistic rules or rules when writing anecdotal texts. This research aims to describe the forms of spelling errors in anecdotal texts of class X SMA Negeri 1 Amandraya students. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive research that requires solving problems based on existing data, analyzing and interpreting the data. The research results found that out of 25 students, 7 students did not make/no mistakes in writing the anecdote text, while 18 students made mistakes. The errors found were errors in the use of capital letters in 18 texts, errors in the use of words in 14 texts, errors in the use of commas in 11 texts, errors in the use of quotation marks in 14 texts, and errors in the use of question marks in 11 texts. Suggestion, the results of this research can be used as material for further research regarding the analysis of spelling errors in anecdotal texts for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Amandraya for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the change in the form of nouns in sentence construction, especially in Hilimeara Village, Amandraya District. This research aims to describe changes in the form of basic nouns in the North Nias language, the central dialect of Amandraya. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a content analysis method. The data source in this research is primary data and the informants in this research are three people in Hilimaera Village, Amandraya District, using documentation and interviews with criteria (understanding Nias language and understanding nouns), according to the context and topic. The data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data presentation and conclusions/verification. The findings of this research indicate that there is a change in the construction of nouns used in the North Nias language, the central dialect of Amandraya. This change in noun form occurs when the interrogative sentence changes form to a telling sentence and when the telling sentence changes form to an interrogative sentence. The researcher's suggestion is that the findings of this research can be used as comparison material for future researchers and it is hoped that it can provide additional new insights in the field of Indonesian literary language, especially the form of changes in the construction of basic nouns.

Abstract

The background to the problem in this research is that there are still errors in choosing words or diction such as denotation, connotation, synonyms, general words and special words in writing argumentative paragraphs. These errors can cause readers to misinterpret the meaning of the argumentation paragraph written by the student. This research aims to describe errors in denotation, connotation, synonyms, general words and special words. The approach used in this research is a descriptive approach. This research data was analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, verification and conclusion drawing. The results of this research were from eighteen seventh grade students, six argumentative paragraph texts which had denotation word errors, one argumentative paragraph text which had connotation word errors, three argumentative paragraph texts which had synonym word errors, two argumentative paragraph texts which had word errors. In general, two argumentative paragraph texts that have specific word errors and those that do not have word errors are four argumentative paragraph texts. This word error occurs because students still don't know the more appropriate and better words to use in argumentative paragraphs. Suggestions for future researchers, the results of this research can be used as material for further research on word errors in writing argumentative paragraphs.

Abstract

Language and culture play a crucial role in shaping the identity of a community. In Nias society, the greetings "Yahowu" and "Ya’ahowu" serve as distinctive forms of address that reflect warmth, blessings, and deeply held social values. Although these greetings are often considered to have the same meaning, there are differences in their usage across social, religious, and customary contexts. This study aims to examine the meaning, distinctions, and cultural significance of "Yahowu" and "Ya’ahowu" in the daily life of the Nias people. Through a qualitative approach involving literature studies and interviews with local community members, the findings indicate that "Ya’ahowu" is more commonly used in formal, customary, and religious settings, whereas "Yahowu" is more prevalent in everyday conversations. These greetings are not merely forms of communication but also serve as cultural identity markers that reinforce social solidarity and local wisdom within the Nias community. This study is expected to enhance understanding and appreciation of Nias cultural heritage and emphasize the importance of preserving traditional values in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the utilization of digital technology in Indonesian language learning to improve students' ability to compose expository texts. Expository text writing is an important skill in Indonesian language learning that involves the ability to organize ideas, information, and arguments in a systematic and structured manner. However, many students face difficulties in composing expository texts due to a lack of understanding of the correct structure and language rules. Digital technology, with its various applications and e-learning platforms, offers a solution to facilitate more interactive and engaging learning. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to explore the application of digital technology in expository text learning at schools. The research findings indicate that the use of digital technology, such as writing applications, collaborative platforms, and tutorial videos, can enhance students' understanding of expository text structure and improve their writing skills. This study is expected to provide new insights for educators to integrate digital technology more effectively in Indonesian language learning, especially in the teaching of expository texts.

Abstract

The concept of creative engineering of literary vehicle transfer from adult novels to children's novels as a form of adaptation across age segments demands aesthetic and pedagogical sensitivity. This process does not simply transfer the story from one form to another, but is a practice of creative transformation that considers the differences in the horizon of readers' expectations, cognitive capacity, and the needs of children's educational values. This study relies on literary reception theory (Jauss and Iser), Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development, Linda Hutcheon's theory of literary adaptation, and Graham Wallas' four-stage creativity theory of preparation, incubation, illumination and verification to explain the creative mental process involved in the re-creation of the text. Through this approach, adaptations are made by simplifying the plot and conflict, choosing communicative diction, rejuvenating characters, and reconstructing moral messages to suit child readers. These adjustments still maintain the substance of humanist values contained in adult novels, but are repackaged to be more child-friendly and arouse imagination and empathy. This research shows that creative engineering can be an effective literacy bridge to introduce adult literature to children, while enriching the repertoire of Indonesian children's literature with high-value narratives delivered in a contextual and educational manner.

Abstract

This research explores the representation of mystical culture in the film Waktu Magrib through an anthropolinguistic approach. Javanese society holds strong beliefs in mystical elements such as spirits, sacred objects, and magical times like dusk. This study aims to describe how mystical beliefs are expressed in the dialog and scenes of the film, especially regarding objects (amulets, stones), places (forests, rivers), and times (sunset). Using a qualitative descriptive method and content analysis, the researcher examines dialogues and visual cues as data sources. The results show that the film reflects mystical values embedded in Javanese oral traditions, such as warnings not to play during sunset or the use of amulets for protection. These representations serve as both cultural memory and means of transmitting traditional wisdom. Language plays a central role in embodying and preserving these mystical elements, acting as a vehicle for spiritual knowledge. The study concludes that films, as popular cultural products, can effectively represent and sustain traditional values in a symbolic, accessible form for modern audiences

Abstract

This study analyzes the discourse on da'i (Islamic preacher) certification through the lens of public literacy by critically examining the Hotroom podcast. The certification of da'i has become a significant discourse in Indonesia, aiming to enhance the professionalism of Islamic preaching, moderate religious teachings, and curb the spread of radicalism. However, the policy has sparked controversy concerning the freedom of religious expression and the plurality of Islam. The Hotroom podcast, as a digital medium, serves as an interactive forum that brings together diverse perspectives from legislators, religious scholars, and the public. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and critical discourse analysis, this study investigates the narratives, rhetoric, and ideologies embedded in the discussions around da'i certification. The findings reveal two dominant narratives: a positive narrative that supports certification as a step toward the professionalization of dakwah (Islamic preaching), and a critical narrative that rejects the policy on the grounds that it restricts freedom of speech. Community-based alternatives, such as non-formal training and standardization, are proposed to maintain inclusivity and local relevance. The analysis highlights the importance of collaboration between the government, religious organizations, and civil society in designing adaptive and tolerant religious policies. As a medium of public literacy, the podcast proves effective in presenting complex issues reflectively, fostering democratic dialogue, and promoting critical public awareness. This research contributes to the development of humanistic and adaptable religious policymaking in the digital age.
