Abstract

Hypertension is a condition that is often found in primary health care, because the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is relatively high. According to RISKESDAS 2018, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia was 34.11%. Hypertension is a major public health problem, responsible for at least 45% of deaths from heart disease and 51% of deaths from stroke. The increasing prevalence of hypertension is caused by population growth, old age and risk factors for unhealthy dietary behavior. In addition to hypertension, through general health checks, other diseases can be found, especially degenerative diseases. In elderly it is important to carry out periodic checks because the higher the risk of degenerative diseases due to decreased the function of various organs of the body. The activities of Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat are carried out by counseling and health care on 4th January 2023 to 42 participants aged ≥46 years (early elderly) at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 4. The results of the counseling get a 43% increase in knowledge about hypertension. The results of the health care get diagnosis of 23% hypertension, 17% stroke, 17% neuralgia, 9% osteoarthritis, 9% diabetes mellitus, 9% cephalalgia, 6% gastritis, 6% dermatitis, and 4% anemia. Abstract

Jakarta is listed as one of the cities in the world with the most polluted air quality, with an annual average PM 2.5 of 49.4 g/m³ in 2019. The sources of air pollution in Jakarta among others are the large number of motor vehicles that are not in accordance with the guidelines of safe vehicles for the environment. Not to mention air pollution from industries and factories fueled by coal or other fossils. Online motorcycle taxi drivers are a profession that is at risk of experiencing the effects of this air pollution. Respiratory disorders that can occur such as acute respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), decreased lung function and lung malignancy. To reduce the risk of respiratory problems that can arise in online motorcycle taxi drivers, efforts are being made to prevent and stop exposure to air pollutants through counseling activities which carried out on November 12, 2023. This activity was attended by 42 online motorcycle taxi drivers. Participants' knowledge was assessed by pre-test and post-test using the Google form to assess participants' cognitive changes. From the results of the pre-test and post-test evaluation, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge about the risks and respiratory tract disorders that could arise, namely 25.5%, with an increasing percentage of correct answers of pre-test and post-test ranging from 4.8 % - 40.5%. Abstract

The most common source of air pollution in urban areas comes from motor vehicles, which account for 70% of air pollution. Indoor or outdoor air pollution can cause illness and even death. The highest mortality is in countries with low to middle income, namely in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific region with 3.3 million deaths caused by indoor air pollution and 2.6 million deaths caused by outdoor air pollution. Online ojek drivers are a group of workers who are vulnerable to exposure to air pollution as well as exposure to cigarette smoke. So far no studies or counseling activities have been found, especially regarding knowledge about lung health in online ojek drivers, so it is still necessary to hold health service activities in the form of education about the importance of lung health. The activity was held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Trisakti, attended by 30 online ojek drivers in the West Jakarta area. The results obtained through this activity are the increased knowledge of participants about the importance of maintaining lung health as evidenced by the increase in post test scores after attending counseling. The conclusion of this activity went well supported by all related parties starting from the institution, the implementation team and partners who actively participated. Suggestions that we can provide by conducting periodic evaluations of behavior change after receiving counseling.

Abstract

Since early March 2020 until today, COVID-19 case in Indonesia is still a problem, requiring comprehensive efforts to manage and break the chain of transmission. Employees of Yvonne's Catering located in Cipinang Muara, possess oral health problems such as cavities, swollen gums, bad breath, and significant number of tooth loss. These problems affect employees' day-to-day performance – bad breath gets in the way of employees talking to customers, and toothaches affect employees while working in the kitchen. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people were afraid to have their teeth checked by dentists because dental treatment was considered a high risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection. Based on the problems above, Yvonne's Catering employees need training and education about the importance of maintaining oral health to prevent cavities which are closely related to overall health, and providing an understanding of emergency cases that need to be treated immediately to prevent the conditions from worsening that can be life-threatening. Information regarding the importance of implementing the 5M health protocol (wearing mask, washing hands, keeping distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility) to protect oneself from exposure to the COVID-19 virus was also provided, including when visiting dentists. The main purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in maintaining maximum oral hygiene. Other goals in this community service include providing alternatives as an effort to maintain oral hygiene and health by making their own mouthwash using natural ingredients from their surroundings, such as Ocimum basilicum.

Abstract

The oral cavity is a mirror of a person's health that can show local and systemic health problems. Dental and oral health problems, especially caries, periodontal disease, and cancer are reported as diseases and disorders in dental and oral health that are still experienced by the population in the world and Indonesia. It is known from a preliminary survey, that family members of WKRI community partner Ranting Birgitta have quite a lot of oral health problems but cannot freely come to the dentist for treatment during the pandemic. The aim of this community service was (1) to increase the knowledge about the problem of caries, bleeding gums, bad breath and the prevention (2) to increase the knowledge of causes and manifestations of various disorders that arise due to systemic medications and how to overcome them. The activity was carried out offline through the educational materials in the form of presentations, demonstrations, and posters to members of the WKRI community of Birgitta branches and guests, on February 5, 2023, at Grha St. Mikael, Kranji, Bekasi. A total of 43 people (32 participants and 11 PkM teams) participated in this activity. The pre-test and post-test results attended by 29 participants showed a significant increase in knowledge by 1.2 times (p<0.001) of the material presented, with an average pre-test score of 54.66 and 78.10 for the average post-test score. Overall, the activity went smoothly. It is highly suggested that similar activities can be held again with a wider scope of participants.

Abstract

Dental emergencies are potentially life-threatening conditions and immediate treatment is needed to stop ongoing bleeding, reduce pain and also uncontrolled bleeding, cellulitis or bacterial tissue infection causing swelling in the mouth or mouth area and trauma to the bones in the facial area . Delay in treatment of trauma to the teeth can lead to treatment failure. Delay in emergency dental treatment after trauma will increase the risk of complications, non-vital teeth and an unpredictable prognosis.Dental emergencies often occur at the elementary school level and the most common cases are loose or avulsed teeth due to falls and impacts. Teachers in schools not only have a central role as educators, but teachers also act as first aid agents in dealing with health problems in schools. In addition, teachers also play a role and assist health workers in collecting data and also as the first emergency referral before being handled by health workers.SDI Assalaam has a staff of 46 teachers and 250 students. Having students who are actively moving has a risk of accidents such as falling and so on which can cause injury, especially the oral cavity, while knowledge of dental emergencies and their management according to the Principal of SDI Assalaam has never been received by the teachers who teach at SDI Assalaam , so that if there is a dental emergency the teachers don't know what action to take.To overcome the lack of knowledge about dental emergencies and their management. So the teachers of SDI Assalam are given counseling and training about dental emergencies and their handling so that the importance of dental emergencies is socialized so that teachers at SDI Assalaam can increase their knowledge about dental emergencies and their management.Based on the evaluation results of community service activities. There was a significant increase in the level of knowledge of SDI Assalaam teachers regarding dental emergencies and their treatment.
