Abstract

Background: Treatment adherence is one of the problems in the treatment of patients with mental disorders. Telenursing is a part of telemedicine that plays an important role in providing modern nursing care, improving the quality of care, and accessing services quickly. Purpose: To describe the use of telenursing in medication adherence in patients with mental disorders. Methods: Literature review searches were conducted on PubMed, Wiley, and Google scholar. The search strategy used the keywords "telenursing" OR "telehealth" AND Medication Adherence" AND "Mental disorder". The inclusion criteria are the article uses a Randomized Control Trial design, the article does not limit the place or location, published in the last 5 years (2017-2021), in English and free full text. While the exclusion criteria are qualitative research, mixed-method, journal review/systematic review, published under 2017, the title and abstract do not match. Results: Four articles matched the inclusion criteria and topics. From four articles, it was found that the application of telenursing in mental disorders uses TIPS (Telephone Intervention Problem Solving), LEAN (Lay health supporters, E-platform, Award, and iNtegration), cellular applications such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, Line. Conclusion: With a smartphone application, it can provide a signal, reminder, or education, in overcoming forgetting or not wanting to take medicine or forgetting to control schedules and can be adjusted to resource and geographical conditions. The use of telenursing can help people with mental disorders to increase their belief in the importance of treatment, increase treatment adherence, reduce the length of hospital stay.

Abstract

The first stage of labor is the longest duration compared to the second, third, and fourth stages. At this time requires extra energy because contractions occur that cause feelings of fear, anxiety, and excessive stress, triggering the release of non-epinephrine hormones that inhibit the work of oxytocin so that it can prolong the first stage of labor. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family support and the midwives's motivation for the first stage of labor progress in an Independent Midwifery Practice within working area of Kalumata Public Health Center, Ternate City. The population is woman who during the first stage of labor in an Independent Midwifery Practice in Ternate City. There were 30 samples in this research that have been selected by using quota sampling technique. The data were collected by using questionnaires and partographs. The results of multivariate analysis using logistic regression showed that the two independent variables, family support and midwife's motivation when correlated multivariate together showed that had not relationship with the progress of the first stage of labor with the significant value equal to 0,05 and more than 0,05 is 0,999. The progress of labor is multifactorial that related with each other and not independent. Although the woman had received support from her family and motivation from the midwife, if her self efficacy was low, that can make anxiety and increased intervention in labor. Support in labor should be a standard procedure that is planned to be provided by midwife to pregnant woman and their families before the signs and symptoms that labor has begun.

Abstract

Factors that lead stunting incidents are poor nutrition and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Most parent especially in childbearing age may have lack of education about balanced nutrition that impact their feeding implementation to their children. This study investigated the impact of Golden Nutrition Booklet (GNB) in knowledge and attitudes changes of balanced nutrition implementation in women of childbearing age. Altogether 38 women in childbearing age were included in this quasi-experiment study, one group pre-test and post-test design.  Before the intervention, respondents were given pre-test questionnaire to assess their knowledge and attitude about balance nutrition, then given the GNB to be read during the next 7 days. In the last day, the assessment was repeated after the health education by GNB given. The study showed that health education interventions regarding GNB directly influence the increasing knowledge and attitude outcomes of women of childbearing age p <0.05. However, we can conclude that the GNB can be used as health education media for woman to implementing balanced nutrition, that could enhance child nutrition outcomes.

Abstract

Birth support can prevent prolonged labor. The husband can carry out this support as a delivery companion. This study aims to assess the effect of the husband's role as a labor companion on the duration of labor. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The samples in this study were 60 pairs of mothers and their husbands who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were obtained using the observation sheet on the husband's role and partograph. The analysis used in this study was the chi-square test and logistic regression. Mothers in labor will have an increased risk of 2.85 to experience a prolonged first stage of labor if the husband does not provide sufficient support as a birth companion during labor (OR=2.8, 95% CI=1.52-5.16). Good labor companion by the husband will be able to prevent mothers from experiencing a long second stage of labor (OR = 0.34, 95% CI = 0.18-0.62). The role of a good husband as a birth companion is to maintain the expected time for the first and second stages of labor and prevent the long duration of labor.

Abstract

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a mental disorder that can affect mothers and their families, with symptoms of fatigue, mood swings, frequent anger for no reason, and excessive worry for the baby. Several studies regarding interventions that can be given to postpartum women with PPD have been carried out. The purpose of this review is to assess evidence on the effectiveness of a broad range of perinatal interventions to reduce the severity of PPD. The review of the literature has been done through PubMed, for papers with Randomized Control Trial (RCT) design published in 2012-2021. The approach was to explore quantitative parameters which is the EPDS score. More than 300 papers were identified, but only 6 studies met the inclusion criteria. A narrative review was conducted due to the studies' significant heterogeneity. Six studies reported a decrease in EPDS score. Six interventions have been identified to reduce the severity of PPD, they are exercise, psychological intervention, telephone-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), iBA (internet Behavioral Activation), application-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychoeducation. This review suggests that multiple intervention program may lead to better outcomes in terms of client’s satisfaction. There is also some indication that psychoeducation support Maternal Parental Self-efficacy (MPSE) and social support besides EPDS.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents are curious, challenge themselves, and take risks. Unstable adolescent self-control, lack of knowledge, and lack of faith make adolescents susceptible to premarital sex. Purpose: To explore perceptions of preventing premarital sex among adolescents on an Islamic campus. Method: This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection through in-depth interviews using an interview guide with 7 students identified through purposive and maximum variation sampling. Validity testing of the data using member checks, peer debriefing, and thick descriptions. Thematic analysis was carried out using Open Code 4.02 software. Results: Students perceive premarital sex as sex before marriage, kissing, holding hands, and hugging, which can have physical, psychological, academic, and social consequences. The causative factors are lust, food, environment, and knowledge. Premarital sex can be prevented by oneself, religion, campus, education, and parents. Premarital sex can be dealt with by regulation and institutional treatment. Islam considers premarital sex unlawful, and students on Islamic campuses do not necessarily abstain from premarital sex. This perception is influenced by culture, experience, and history of information. Conclusion: Perception will influence students' behavior towards premarital sex, so they need to have good knowledge and self-control to avoid premarital sex behavior.

Abstract

Normal labour can result in a perineal laceration due to pressure from the baby's bottom during delivery or from an episiotomy operation to open the birth canal. Perineal injuries will have an impact on the muscles in the pelvic floor. In the East Jakarta region, there will be numerous cases of perineal rupture in 2022, both spontaneous and due to episiotomy. Many postpartum women suffer from perineal lacerations that take longer than seven days to heal. This study aims to identify the factors that influence perineal wound healing in the Kramat Jati District Health Center's operational setting. This study used a cross-sectional design. Based on the sample formula, the research sample of 110 postpartum women with perineal wounds was chosen to test the hypothesis with a different percentage. Purposive sampling was used as the sample method. Chi-Square test study of a correlation test. A questionnaire and a checklist were employed as the data collection tools to track the healing of the perineum wound, which was assessed during the respondent's postpartum visit. The results showed that there was a significant association between age (P-value 0.003; OR 3.354), parity (P-value 0.001; OR 4.028), mobilization (P-value 0.007), personal hygiene (P-value 0.001; OR 3.611), body mass index (BMI) (P-value 0.012; OR 2.682), type of perineal injury (P-value 0.001; OR 0.251), treatment (P-value 0.0001; OR 5.262) on perineal wound healing. Postpartum mothers are advised to practice good hygiene, non-pharmacological therapies, engage in active mobilization, and maintain a normal BMI. Perineal wounds might heal more quickly depending on BMI. Health services require education for health workers and perineal wound care recommendations for postpartum women.

Abstract

Background: Marriage is everyone's dream and need to create a whole and happy family (household). Changing the status and role of being a parent is fun and even sad if the adjustment is not properly prepared. Self-acceptance as a parent can affect a person's psychological level where the rates of stress, depression, violence against family children, and even divorce experience an increasing trend. Young parents are more vulnerable to becoming victims of both physical and verbal violence. Methods: The method in this research is scoping review. The literature search in this study used three medical journal databases, namely Ebsco, ProQuest, and Willey Online Library, and one search engine, namely Google Scholar. Articles were selected using inclusion criteria, namely original research, in English and Indonesian, published within the last 5 years (2017-2022). The total search results were 3,395 articles. 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria in the authors' review were found. The instrument used to assess the quality of articles was the Joana Briggs tool from the Joana Briggs Institute (JBI). Conclusion: From the results of the review, it was found three themes related to readiness, influencing factors, and support in the transition to parenthood. The review of the ten articles showed that the transition to parenthood requires readiness both physically and mentally, internal and external factors, and the need for support from family, social, and health services.

Abstract

One of the main issues for women in the reproductive age range is leucorrhoea, which causes a woman ongoing distress, and occasionally be the first sign of several of the main gynecological disorders. The widespread use of fluconazole antibiotics has caused Candida sp to become resistant. Alternative non-pharmacological treatments based on natural products are needed, especially P. crocatum which has antioxidant, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory activities. This study analyzed the empirical study of P. crocatum used against leucorrhoea due to C. albicans. The empirical study presented that vaginal discharge was reduced after using P. crocatum formulations. The infection parameter of vaginal pH level, the intensity of pain, and itching were significantly recovered with p values of 0.008, 0.000, and 0.001, respectively, while the reducing C. albicans colonies was 0.001. P. crocatum decoction formulation is effective in reducing vaginal yeast infections in women, close to the results of the positive control, ketoconazole.
