Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the implementation of risk management in higher education at Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Asuransi Trisakti. The research method uses exploratory research design, because the purpose of this research is to understand the problems of risk management at STMA Trisakti. Data was obtained by conducting interviews and barinstorming with the head of the study programme, head of section, and Head of Centre, also by using secondary data, namely the number of students, number, lecturers, and other data. The stages of analysis are carried out through risk identification, risk assessment and evaluation, risk mitigation planning and data analysis and interpretation. Based on the results of risk identification, there are 7 inherent risks that can have a significant impact on the sustainability of STMA Trisakti. Based on the risk profile of the seven identified risks, risks 1 and 6 have a qualitative impact on reducing accreditation ratings, risks 2, 3 and 7 have an impact on not achieving performance targets, risks 4 and 5 can have an impact on reducing the National Higher Education clustering. Quantitative impact Risks 1, 2, 3 and 6 have an impact on institutional losses, risks 4, 5 and 7 have an impact on low budget absorption (cost centre). Some risks require handling in a short time such as risks 2, 4 and 7 can result in residual risk not in accordance with the expected risk target (risk appetite), so that continuous risk handling is needed. This study has limitations, namely risk identification is not carried out in depth in all work units. Future research is expected that risk identification is carried out in all work units in Higher Education, so that existing risks can be immediately mitigated and improvements made immediately. Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has a high level of biodiversity in the world. Indonesia's high level of biodiversity is influenced by several environmental carrying capacity factors such as rainfall, climate, temperature, topography, humidity, soil fertility and light intensity. Existing biodiversity can affect the culture of Indonesian society, especially in terms of utilizing natural materials in meeting daily needs. The existence of anthropogenic activities can have an impact on existing biodiversity, especially activities that do not follow applicable rules and regulations such as excessive hunting, illegal trade in endangered species, waste pollution and habitat conversion. If there is no effort to take conservation and protection measures, it will have an impact on the decline in population numbers to the extinction of species. Therefore, the 6R principles of conservation, which include release, relocation, reproduction, restocking, rehabilitation and research, need to be considered and implemented in the community. The 6R principle has been widely applied by researchers, governments and non-governmental organizations both at the broad scale of the ecosystem landscape and the small scale of the species level. Based on research activities, it is hoped that the 6R principle can scientifically become one of the efforts to reduce the extinction rate and the main threats to wildlife in Indonesia. In addition, the 6R principle can be a good thing to be developed in protected areas and become a lifestyle based on environmental insight in urban areas (urban conservation lifestyle).

Abstract

Environmental issues on the coast are of concern because of their important existence, but environmental conditions on the coast, especially mangrove forests, are increasingly critical Based on Clark Labs data, the extent of mangrove conversion to ponds from 1999 to 2018. The on going community participation in the mangrove rehabilitation program has its dynamics because it involves many parties. The parties involved include local governments (Forestry Service, UPT Sawitto, and Fisheries Service), farmers, village governments, and communities. During the implementation of the program activities, the main issues encouraging community participation in mangrove rehabilitation such as analysis, strategy, mobilization, action, evaluation, and sustainability are very interesting to be studied further. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. The unit of analysis is the mangrove rehabilitation program. Key data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants. For the data triangulation process, observation of mangrove rehabilitation sites was carried out to complete the research data. Furthermore, the data is analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of this study is an evaluation of community participation in the mangrove rehabilitation program in Tanroe Hamlet, Bababinanga Village, while some issues have not been satisfactory such as participation in evaluation and participation in decision-making. Furthermore, developing a communication strategy run by the Pinrang Regency Government is very good for the short term. In the long term, it has not yielded significant results in some areas of the rehabilitation program. This is influenced by several things, including land rehabilitation and empowerment by communicators, extension programs and public campaigns, community participation in planning and decision-making, diverse communication media, formation of working groups and training, monitoring, and feedback. In principle, the practice carried out is good but still at the exploration stage.

Abstract

Waste banks are a potential solution for managing waste in tertiary institutions, and TRUSTATION (Trust Your Trash to Our Station) is a waste bank planned to operate within the Indonesian University of Education (UPI) as a revolution in the process of overcoming waste problems. To realize TRUSTATION and show that UPI is taking waste problems seriously, an analysis of the waste management condition within UPI is needed. This research aims to explain the waste management system at UPI, the response of UPI residents to waste management, and the idea of establishing a waste bank. The study uses a mixed-method approach with data collection techniques including interviews, surveys, and literature studies. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Results of the study show that waste management at UPI still relies on sorting and processing at the TPS level. UPI residents choose to hand over their waste to the waste management, but the absence of waste processing facilities on campus or around their residence is a significant obstacle, causing waste to remain mixed at the TPS. Therefore, UPI residents support the establishment of a waste bank within UPI.

Abstract

Doom Island is a small island in Southwest Papua Province, Indonesia. Located right across from Sorong City, clean water services from PDAM do not yet reach all of Dum Island, so some people on Doom Island still use dug wells or shallow wells. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of sea water, the status of quality standards on the quality of shallow well water in RK 4, West Doom village, and the solution to its influence is to build an absorption well. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling intentionally, determining water quality status using the storet method. The results of the research at sample points 1 - 14, at sample points 1 - 3 there is the influence of sea water on shallow well water with a distance from the shoreline of around 13 - 22 meters with a shallow well depth of around 5 - 6 meters below the ground surface, with a value salinity 1180 – 2130 mg/L. The high salinity test value resulted in the influence of sea water in shallow wells at several well points in RK 4 West Doom Village. On average, most of the shallow wells in RK 4 West Dum District have class B water quality status, namely lightly polluted.
