Abstract

This study aims to: (1) explain the meaning of denotation and connotation of defamation on social media, (2) explain the pragmatic analysis (speech acts) of defamation on social media, and (3) explain the juridical effects of defamation on social media. The data in this study are language that contains criminal acts of defamation on social media Facebook. The data source in this study is the social media Facebook. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, data collection techniques in the form of capturing screens, reading techniques, and taking notes. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that: based on the semantic study of NA speech on social media Facebook, NP contains denotative and connotative meanings. The use of the type of animal chosen by the speaker is a different animal from the animals that are used to insult and humiliate. In this pragmatic study of speech is a type of ommissive illocutionary speech act. There is also a metaphorical meaning in the words "human", "gorilla", and "desert lizard", which is to compare the power between ordinary people, a group of people who have power against the government, and a group of people who are against the government. Perlocutionary in this sentence is the reporting of AN in Polda Papua and Polda Papua Barat so that Bareskrim takes the case. AN will be subject to Article Law Number 19 of 2016 Amendments to the ITE Law and KUHP Article 310 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code regarding written pollution.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the forms of speech acts that contain Habib Rishiq Shihab's hate speech on YouTube social media. The data in this study are Habib Rishiq Shihab's story uploaded on YouTube social media which contains hate speech. The source of the data in this study is a document in the form of a video uploaded on YouTube social media related to Habib Rishiq Shihab's speech which contains hate speech.The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, data collection techniques look-see and note. Data were analyzed usingThe data analysis technique used is qualitative content analysis.The results of this study indicate that:Habib Rishiq Shihab's speech on YouTube contains declarative and interrogative speech acts. The form of illocutionary speech acts uses declarative and directive locutions. The form of perlocutionary speech acts is in the form of a deliberate effect by influencing the interlocutor. Such speech is considered as a form of provocative/incitement that can cause feelings of hatred or hostility towards certain individuals and/or community groups based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group (SARA) so that they can be categorized as having committed an unlawful act as regulated in the formulation of article 45A paragraph (2) UU ITE and Article 160 of the Criminal Code.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to determine the theme of Bugis folklore. Based on the table data, it can be concluded that the highest score obtained by students on the ability to understand the theme of intrinsic elements in the story text La Maddukkelleng is 4 and gets a score of 100 while the lowest score obtained by students is 2 so that they get a value of 50. The research design used in this research is a descriptive quantitative research design. The population of this research is the entire class VIII SMP, totaling 81 students and divided into four classes. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the Ability to Understand Intrinsic Elements in Bugis folklore texts with seven assessment indicators found the level of ability in the theme aspect was categorized as capable as much as 75% who got a score of 75-100.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate students' perceptions toward English teacher teaching strategies, personal competence, and school facilities at Mts Nurur Rahmah Pamekasan. This study use qualitative research. The sample of this study involved 25 students in class 7-9 junior high school at Mts Nurur Rahmah Pamekasan. In this study, the writer use some kinds of instruments; the researcher, observation and interview, note-taking, video camera, and document. The data would be taken from the observation. In addition, the writer also used online questionnaire (close-ended and open-ended question) to gain information about students’ perceptions on the teacher’s teaching strategies. The result shows that the teaching strategies are suggested to be used by teachers in their teaching process to attract students' interest in learning the target language and to achieve curriculum goal has not been fully implemented. The teacher did not apply the required strategies in English language teaching and did not have a set of complete personality. In addition, regarding school facilities, the schools do not have adequate facilities.

Abstract

The objective of the research were to find out : (1) whether or not the ability the use of Communicative Drilling increased pronunciation ability of the second year students at SMK 4 Sidrap and (2) whether or not the second year students of SMK 4 Sidrap are interested in pronunciation through Communicative Drilling. This research applied Pre-experimental method that apllied one group pretest and posttest. The subject of the research was the second year students of SMK 4 Sidrap academic year 2021.total number of population was 92 students spread in three classes and one class of them XI.3 were taken as sample by using cluster sampling technique. The data of the research were collected by using twi kinds of instruments, namely pronunciation test and questionnaire. Pronunciation test was used to obtain data of the students’ pronunciation ability and questionnaire was used to know the students interest in pronunciation by using communicative drilling. The result of data analysis showed that the mean score of post test (70) was higher than the mean score of post test ( 28). This showed that was significant difference between the students before and after taught by using communicative drilling. Then, the analysis of interest by using Linkert Scale indicated that the students were interested to pronounce English through communicative drilling. It was proved by mean score of students’ interest was (79.9) in categories in interest.The result of the t-test value (7.29) was greater than t-table (α = 0,05: 16 = 2.120). This mean that H1 was accepted. Based on data analysis, the researcher concluded that teaching pronunciation by using Communicative Drilling increased the students’ ability to pronounce English. Moreover, the use of Communicative drilling makes the students’ interested in pronouncing English.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to identify the problems of the second grade students in speaking English and to discover the effective steps of the learning strategy to improve the speaking skill of the second grade students at SMAN 4 Sidrap in the academic year 2021. This study applied a classroom action research and was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing, evaluating, and reflecting. Subjects of the research were the second grade students of SMAN 4 Sidrap in the academic year 2021. Data collecting techniques used were observation, interview, diary and speaking test. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis. Based on the research, there were four strategies applied in cycle I, i.e., the strategies of asking for clarification or verification, grouping, repeating and placing new words into a context. The result of strategies application in cycle I gave positive and negative responses that it did not give much significance to the students‟ speaking skill. The highest speaking score of the students in cycle I was 18. Therefore, revision was done. There were two strategies that must be revised in cycle II, which were the strategies of grouping and repeating. As the revision was done in cycle II, students showed positive response and gave significant improvement to the students‟ speaking skill. The highest speaking score of the students in cycle II was 27. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning strategy is successfully implemented and improves the speaking skill of the second grade students at SMAN 4 Sidrap in the academic year 2021.
