Abstract

Era globalisasi dan kemajuan tekhnologi menjadikan setiap orang mudah menjalin komunikasi dan hubungan antar Negara. Semakin meluasnya hubungan antar manusia membuat mereka mau tidak mau harus mempelajari bahasa asing khususnya bahasa inggris sebagai bahasa internasional. Didunia pendidikan mata pelajaran bahasa inggris sudah diajarkan sejak zaman penjajahan belanda dan masih terus digunakan hingga sekarang. Sudah sejak lama pelajaran bahasa inggris menjadi mata pelajaran wajib bagi siswa tingkat menengah pertama atau SMP dan tingkat menengah atas atau SMA. Ditingkat sekolah dasar atau SD, mata pelajaran bahasa inggris sudah menjadi muatan lokal sejak tahun 1996. Mengajarkan bahasa inggris pada berbaga tingkat tidaklah sama. Pada tingkat sekolah dasar bahasa inggris lebih ditekankan pada peningkatan dan penguasaan kosakata. Selain itu para pengajar haruslah menggunakan metode yang tepat dan media yang akan menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran. Pada penelitian kali ini peneliti akan melakukan eksperimen yang berpusat pada peggunaan buku bergambar sebagai media dalam meningkatkan kosakata bahasa inggris. Dalam rangka pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan tim KKN-DR IAIN KEDIRI. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk anak-anak pada tingkat sekolah dasar yang ada di desa Sitimerto. Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan metode pra-eksperimen ini menghasilkan sebuah kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media buku bergambar pada peningkatan kosakata ternyata terbukti. Pada penelitian ditemukan adanya pengaruh yang menunjukkan arah positif. Meskipun hasil peningkatan yang ditunjukkan tidak terlalu signifikan, hal ini membuktikan bahwa peningkatan kosakata dengan media buku bergambar membuahkan hasil.

Abstract

Coffee is a mainstay commodity in Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh. Coffee beans contain chemicals such as caffeine, chlorogenic acid, trigonelin, carbohydrates, fats, amino acids, organic acids, minerals and volatile aromas that can produce aromatherapy effects. The use of synthetic air freshener has a negative impact on health because the volatile organic compounds released are classified as toxic compounds and carcinogens. Aromatherapy diffusers are a good choice to avoid these risks, apart from being a relaxation, it can also improve air quality, which in turn acts as a COVID-19 preventive effort. Through this Community Service program, the Malikussaleh University PKM teams helps coffee farmer partners to develop an aromatherapy diffuser product from sorted coffee bean waste or rejected/pixel coffee, namely coffee with broken conditions, holes, seeds that are too young and too old. This program is a strategic step in the context of pioneering and building micro-enterprises in Weh Tenang Uken Village so that it can improve the economy of the community and its surroundings.

Abstract

The beginning of 2020 until the middle of the year is quite a tough year for all countries in all parts of the world. Since this pandemic, MSMEs have been one of the sectors that have been affected. In order for MSME actors to survive in the pandemic era, they must immediately adapt by digitizing MSMEs, because in this pandemic era, residents are starting to feel comfortable with transactions made digitally. The purpose of this MSME digitization activity is to help MSMEs to survive in the face of the pandemic era and be able to face the new normal era. This activity was carried out in 3 stages: first, the creation and distribution of MSME digitization guidebooks to MSME actors, secondly the development of MSME digitization, and a survey of the results of MSME digitization development. This activity was followed by MSME actors around the village of Wonoyoso. The method used in the implementation of the community service program regarding the digitization of MSMEs is in the form of socialization and assistance to MSMEs. Based on the survey results, it is known that MSME actors have started to use digital technology to develop their business.

Abstract

The objectives of the activity to be achieved are: to increase the knowledge, understanding and skills of SMK Negeri 2 Bungo teachers in utilizing web-based learning media so that they can increase knowledge, facilitate their tasks and can increase motivation and learning outcomes of students of SMK Negeri 2 Bungo. This goal can be achieved using the model of service, namely the Model (Assistance) and the method of implementing this activity the method (Assistance), specifically the method, namely: (1). Training in the form of presenting training materials on the history of the Internet, the use of web-based learning media. This activity was accompanied by the entire implementation team (2). Assignment to make all web-based teaching materials in accordance with the expertise program of each subject teacher. Based on the results of observations during the activity, it can be seen that the participant's activity is very good, this can be seen from the many indicators of training activities that appear. Likewise with the results of the questionnaire given to participants at the end of the activity, 93% of participants were satisfied with this activity. The implementation of educational activities has been able to achieve the expected goals, this can be seen from the tasks given to participants that can be completed properly. It is hoped that the participants will use the results of the training to develop learning media in accordance with the field of study taught at school

Abstract

One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is the implementation of the online teaching and learning process. This is one of the factors that causes dependence on the internet to be higher. The implementation of online learning makes the use of gadgets connected to the internet for children more often. So that children can use the internet properly and safely, it is necessary to have supervision and assistance from parents. This community service given to mothers in the Baros Pakanewon hamlet of Kretek Bantul aims to provide knowledge about safe and healthy internet use for children. The implementation method is carried out by giving questionnaires regarding the use of gadgets in children and lectures on the negative and positive impacts of internet use for children. The results of the implementation of community service carried out include educating mothers on strategies so that children do not depend on gadgets and how the role of parents specifically for mothers is in providing assistance to children in using gadgets that are connected to the internet. Evaluation of activities was carried out by giving a questionnaire and the results of the questionnaire on the question of the bad impact of using gadgets to damage the future of children showed that 85% answered strongly agree and 15% answered agree. The results of the questionnaire on the question of the negative impact on children's health, 90% answered strongly agree and 10% answered agree.

Abstract

Community empowerment is an economic development concept that summarizes society's values to build a new paradigm in development that is people-centered, participatory. This study examines every process of community empowerment through non-formal education programs in the village of Baturetno, Banguntapan, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta. This activity is a development of community service. The community empowerment program results indicate that there are exogenous (government) and endogenous (community) factors in determining the program's success. The function of empowerment and other support is only a companion in line with the mentoring function concept. It is necessary to strengthen awareness, cooperation, and more active communication in improving the welfare of the economy, education, social, culture, and village infrastructure.

Abstract

The students’competency achievement is the main goal of teaching learning process, but It’s not easy as we think. In fact there are many students face learning loss. It really happened in SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo in writing simple desciptif text. This research is intended for describing the applying of TTW (Think-Talk-Write) learning model to improve the competency. It is included in classroom action research that involved 32 students of class VII.A as the research sebject. This research consist of two cycles. Each of them has four phases . They are planning, doing, observing and reflecting. The instrument in data collecting used observation sheet, test and field note. At the end of the research showed that (1)The applying of TTW (Think-Talk-Write) learning model are able to increase the students’ competency in writing descriptive text. It is showed from the test result that there was15.7%in developing the idea (content)from the first cycle to the second, increasing 6.3 % in advancing the vocabulary from the first cycle to the second, increasing 9.3% in using the grammar, and increasing 6,3% in the aspect of coherence of the sentences. (2) The applying of TTW (Think-Talk-Write) learning model also improve the students’ motivation in learning English.

Abstract

Teachers’ competency of SMP Negeri 5 Jujuhan in doing learning from home along Covid-19 Pandemy are still dissapointed. Of course, It influenced to the students’ ability. So, this research is meant to explain the applying of Conditioning, Organizing, Viewing, Interpreting, Deciding (covid) method in improving the teachers’ competency. This is School Action Research because all the teachers of SMP Negeri 5 Jujuhan roled as the research’s subject. The research was designed in two cycles. Each of them has the same phases : planning, doing, observing and reflecting. It used observation sheets and field note as the instrumen in collecting data. The results of the study show that (1) the principal must continue to provide a forum for developing teacher competence in order to maximize student competence. (2) The application of the COVID method is able to improve teacher competence in carrying out quality learning. (3) The application of the COVID method not only improves the professional competence of teachers but also improves motivation and learning behavior.

Abstract

The competency of teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo in performing the teaching learning proccess in the classroom are still unsatisfied. That’s whythis research is aimed to describe the implementation of continous monitoring and evaluation to improve their competency. This research is included in School Action Research because all the teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo as the research’s subject. There are two cycles in designing the research. Each of them has the same phases : planning, doing, observing and reflecting. It used observation sheets and field note as the instrumen in collecting data. At the end of the research showed that (1) By applying continous monitoring and evaluation are able to improve 3% teacher’s competency in doing the teaching learning process from pra cycle to the first one, then incresing 8% from the first to the second cycle. (2) The implementing of continous monitoring and evaluation is also able to increase teachers’ diciplin tocome on time at school and having teaching preparation much better.

Abstract

Online learning that is applied in schools turns out to leave some problems for students. There are students who do not use their time to study at home, but are used to play outside the home. As a result, there are students who do not understand and are not unprepared for parents in guiding their children to study. This community service program is carried out in the village of Rasau. This service is carried out with the Smart Home concept. The methods used in this service include preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of the assistance service for smart home-based learning programs are carried out by providing assistance in learning to read, write, count and learn foreign languages. Furthermore, providing vocational training to train psychomotor abilities and physical fitness assistance to maintain the physical health of students. So learning assistance provides benefits for improving cognitive and psychomotor students in the village of Rasau.
