Abstract

The potential of the organic soap market is increasingly promising along with the increasing public awareness of the importance of products made from natural and environmentally friendly ingredients. Our organic soap UMKM still faces many challenges, including competition with similar products and lack of access to more modern production knowledge. UMKM Utopia Bodysoap is an UMKM formed by several students of the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya which aims to provide high-quality natural skin care products to the community. Then collaborate with UMKM Soappahollic with the aim of collaboration between UMKM Soappahollic and Utopia is to increase the competitiveness and profitability of UMKM through the development of innovative and high-quality organic soap products. This collaboration process involves several stages, starting from identifying potential collaboration, knowledge exchange, new product development, product testing and evaluation, to product marketing and sales. The results of the collaboration created a new organic soap recipe that combines the advantages of each, so that UMKM Soappahollic succeeded in improving product quality, product diversification, and business profitability. This community service program has also succeeded in increasing the sustainability of the Soappahollic UMKM business through product diversification and wider market access.

Abstract

This service activity is carried out by lecturers and students of the Indonesian Language Education study program with the aim of increasing interest in reading and students having the ability to construct a short story based on building elements, structure and rules. Creative expressions of short stories produced by class XI Multimedia students at Arinda Vocational School Palembang shows significant potential as a medium for increasing literacy. Through short story writing activities, students are not only able to develop writing skills, but also improve critical thinking skills, imagination, and appreciation of various forms of literary works. This method encourages students to more actively explore ideas and create work that is relevant to their experiences and interests. Thus, the use of short stories as a literacy learning medium has a positive impact on improving students’ overall literacy skills. The service method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. After carrying out service, students are expected to have high creativity because they can present interesting stories based on their experience and imagination and are able to include intrinsic and extrinsic elements in the stories they create.

Abstract

Kaizen appears when many items are purchased but there is no or lack of control in their implementation. The purpose of this assistance activity in implementing Kaizen management and administration is to manage a science laboratory organization in a school so that the management of goods and administration can run well. The method used is the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) and PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, and Action). As a result of this activity, the TCS Science Laboratory can implement Kaizen well and can do it routinely and continuously.

Abstract

Community service activities (PkM) held by the Indonesian Education Study Program, Bina Darma University aim to increase the confidence of grade XI students of SMK Arinda Palembang through speech training. Speech is a public speaking skill that is very important in education and career. In this program, students are given a basic understanding of speech, then practice composing and delivering it, and are evaluated to measure the development of their abilities. As a result, students showed an improvement in confidence and communication skills after participating in this training. It is hoped that this activity can prepare students to face challenges in the world of work that require good presentation skills.

Abstract

Financial literacy can increase insight in making wise and effective decisions related to financial planning in the future. Improving financial literacy is an urgent need in building an economically strong, independent, and stable society. Effective financial literacy education and programs can help individuals understand and manage their finances better, as well as improve overall financial well-being. The purpose of this community service is to provide education and understanding about financial management to achieve financial independence. The method of this service is by educating and mentoring the PKK group in Ceguk village regarding financial literacy. Through comprehensive counseling and training, participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to manage personal and family finances more wisely. Financial literacy can increase insight in making wise and effective decisions related to financial planning in the future.

Abstract

Improving the village economy is an important global issue in village economic development in Indonesia. The village economy is a forum for converting opportunities into economic value by carrying out management and operational activities. Operational activities are related to managing input into output by providing added value. Sustainable economic development in villages is important in supporting national economic development. The aim of this activity is that village communities can process marine products in the village so that they have a higher selling value. Apart from that, using marine products can improve the economy so that it can increase people's income. Based on the results of service in Pagagan village, the village economy has improved, and village people can process marine products in Pagagan village so that they have a higher selling value. Apart from that, the use of marine products can improve the economy so that it can increase people's income. Supported by government, non-governmental organizations, and local community initiatives, the village economy can develop significantly, contributing to more equitable national development. Improving the village economy aims to improve community welfare through the natural resources available in the village. Apart from that, economic development in Pagagan village can open up new job opportunities so that the people in the sea will become economically prosperous.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is used cooking oil which is often considered waste and thrown away without proper processing. Uncontrolled disposal of used cooking oil can cause various environmental problems, such as soil and water pollution. For the environment, used cooking oil can have a serious impact because it pollutes the stability of soil and water when the waste is not managed carefully. Used cooking oil is included in non-hazardous and toxic waste but must receive proper handling so as not to cause environmental damage. On the other hand, used cooking oil has the potential to be processed into products of economic value, such as soap, candles, or biodiesel. The implementation of this service is carried out by providing outreach to the community regarding the processing of used cooking oil into economic goods that can be reused by the community. Processing used cooking oil into candles and soap could be a solution to improve the community's economy, knowledge, and skills, as well as interest in producing soap and candles from processed used cooking oil which is easy to process and become a benchmark for the success of the training in motivating the Ceguk village community to entrepreneurship.

Abstract

An effective and environmentally friendly dishwashing soap is needed because conventional dishwashing soaps often contain harmful chemicals that can damage the environment. Petai cina leaves, or Moringa oleifera, have antibacterial and antioxidant properties, making them a natural choice for cleaning care. Housewives will not be separated from dishwashing soap, so the PkM team aims to Socialize the Making of Dishwashing Soap with the Innovation of Adding Petai Cina Leaf Infusion to Teachers at the Ummul Quro Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Education Foundation. The method used is education and explaining how to make it, although not all participants can make it, at least they know the process of making it, the number of participants is 15 teachers, carried out on December 19, 2024. The results of the activity showed that participants were enthusiastic about participating in the activity. After the educational activities and mentoring, teachers understood what was explained by the speaker.

Abstract

In the midst of the increasingly rapid digital era, MSMEs in Indonesia, including the “Naza” perfume MSME in Cikarang, face challenges in increasing productivity and competitiveness. This community service activity aims to assist “Naza” perfume MSMEs in increasing productivity through assistance in implementing digital marketing strategies and online payments. By using qualitative methods which include observation, surveys and in-depth interviews as well as direct assistance. This service activity found that perfume MSMEs in Indonesia, including “Naza”, experience obstacles in utilizing the potential of digital marketing and online payments and it turns out that the implementation of digital marketing strategies through Instagram social media and online payments through QRIS and E-Wallet has succeeded in increasing product visibility, expanding market reach and increasing effective and efficient transactions. This service activity concluded that the importance of effective and efficient assistance for MSMEs in dealing with digital technology and competitiveness in the digitalization era to achieve sustainable growth.

Abstract

This community service activity is a learning assistance program that focuses on foreign language learning guidance for school-age children in the Glintong Dalam Village environment during semester holidays. With this activity, the children have interesting activities to improve their Arabic and English skills. This activity is one of the agendas of the facilitators of the Community Service Course of the Tarbiyah Faculty of STAI Darul Hikmahin 2024 in Glintong village. The service activities in the form of a foreign language learning guidance program which were attended by approximately 20 students went smoothly. The result of this activity is that the children are eager to learn Arabic and English and can overcome the difficulties they face when learning Arabic and English at school. In its implementation, children can learn calmly, comfortably, enthusiastically and are able to understand the material presented. This activity also received a positive response from themselves, parents, and the community.
