Abstract

This article aims to elaborate the relationship between the principles of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the scientific values contained in Surah Al-Alaq verses 1-5. The main focus of the research is the question: to what extent can the principles of learning and cognition in JST be semantically analyzed through the Qur'anic perspective, and whether the ethical values contained in the first revelation can provide conceptual guidance for the development of responsible AI. The method used is semantic analysis using Toshihiko Izutzu's approach, which examines the lexical and relational meanings of key words in Surat Al-Alaq. The results showed conceptual similarities between JST learning processes - such as data input, classification, and layered processing - and the command “Iqra'”, the concept of “Qalam”, and the Qur'anic emphasis on reason and knowledge. These findings indicate that the working principles of JSTs have philosophical counterparts in Islamic sacred texts, which emphasize progressive learning, truth-seeking, and sincere intentions in acquiring knowledge. Consequently, this study offers an ethical-conceptual framework for the development of value-based AI, particularly in the realms of Islamic education and humanistic technology. These results contribute to the discourse on the integration of Islamic science and modern science in an applicable manner and open opportunities for the development of a more transcendental AI ethic.

Abstract

Abstract: Islamic education plays a central role in shaping individual character and societal civilization, with the virtues of learning and teaching upheld as core values. These virtues are profoundly reflected in numerous hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which encapsulate not only intellectual dimensions but also spiritual and ethical foundations. However, in contemporary educational practice, there exists a significant gap between the ideal values embodied in hadith and the implementation of curricula that tend to prioritize cognitive and instrumental outcomes. Moreover, academic studies that specifically explore educational hadiths through a thematic approach to address the demands of 21st-century education remain notably scarce. This condition underscores the urgency of systematically reexamining the prophetic traditions on the virtues of learning and teaching, in order to formulate a value-based framework that can be integrated into a transformative Islamic educational curriculum. This study aims to identify, classify, and analyze hadiths related to the virtues of seeking and imparting knowledge, and to explore their relevance in designing contemporary Islamic education curricula. The main focus is on integrating the spiritual, moral, and intellectual values found in hadith into both formal and non-formal education systems, especially in the context of digital-era challenges. Employing a qualitative approach with thematic (maudhu’i) analysis, this research draws upon authoritative hadith collections and is supported by contextual academic literature. The findings reveal that these prophetic traditions not only convey spiritual merit but also offer transformative educational philosophy. Their integration can serve as a foundation for curriculum development that simultaneously addresses cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. This study provides practical implications for strengthening the role of hadith as a source of ethical guidance and visionary pedagogy in the advancement of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Qur’an-based counseling and psychotherapy model, focusing on the analysis of psychopathology found in Surah Yunus, verse 57. The research employs a qualitative approach using thematic exegesis (maudhu‘i) to uncover the deep meaning of the verse and its relevance to modern psychopathology concepts. Data were collected through a literature review involving classical tafsir, contemporary tafsir, and clinical psychology literature, and then analyzed hermeneutically to identify correlations between the Qur’anic message and therapeutic strategies. The findings indicate that Surah Yunus, verse 57 provides a four-dimensional framework for psychological healing: the educative-preventive dimension (al-maw‘izhah), the curative dimension (al-shifā’), the cognitive-preservative dimension (al-hudā), and the affective-spiritual development dimension (al-rahmah). These four dimensions can be adapted into a Qur’anic counseling model that emphasizes a balance between religious knowledge, self-understanding, cognitive restructuring, and spiritual strengthening. The implications of this model offer an alternative integrative approach that combines modern psychological principles with Islamic values for addressing mental disorders, particularly those related to anxiety, depression, and loss of life meaning. This study recommends the implementation of the Qur’anic counseling model based on Surah Yunus, verse 57 in Islamic mental health service settings as a holistic and transformative intervention strategy.

Abstract

The behavior of using other people's belongings without permission among Ma'had Al-Jami'ah IAIN Kendari mahasantri is an important concern in maintaining social ethics and morality. This study aims to understand the factors that influence this behavior, with a focus on the reception of QS. Al-Baqarah verse 188 and QS. An-Nisā verse 29. The research method used is qualitative through field studies, which involve observation and interviews with mahasantri. The results show that 33.33% of mahasantri engage in this behavior, with patterns of action such as using items and then returning them, or even not returning them at all. The contributing factors include lack of awareness, urgent circumstances, and bad habits. Although the majority of mahasantri understand that this action is prohibited by these verses, a small number believe that it can be justified in certain situations. The impact includes positive changes in social interactions, with increased awareness of the importance of respecting the property rights of others and collective efforts to prevent violations. This study emphasizes the need for further education on the ethics of using items and the more effective application of the teachings of the Qur'an in daily life. Thus, a deeper understanding of this prohibition can contribute to the formation of a better character of respecting the property rights of others among mahasantri.

Abstract

The transition and acceleration of technology have opened new portals in the fields of information and communication. This includes aspects of information in the social and religious fields. This transition creates a new horizon that must be included in the rapid flow of technology. Therefore, the distribution of religious messages through da'wah needs to be reconstructed so that the audience still gets fundamental implications. This study aims to see how the da'wah patterns of muslim influencers on social media can still influence the religious attitudes of generation Z in the era of disruption. Not stopping there, the study also touches on the message in Q. S. An-Nahl [16]: 125 through hermeneutic studies by Imam At-Thabari, Imam Al-Razy, Sayyid Qutb, Buya Hamka and Prof. Quraish Shihab as a guide to the ideal da'wah method for da'i and ulama in conveying their da'wah messages. Through qualitative methods, the study was designed using a library study approach. The findings of this study are that the da'wah method contained in Q. S. An-Nahl [16]: 125 is able to provide an expansive effect on the da'wah messages conveyed by religious influencers through social media. Three methods that comprehensively influence the da'wah carried out are the bil hikmah method (verses of the Koran), the bil mau'idhoh hasanah method (good advice) and the bil mujjadallah method (discussion, debate, dialogue). By using these three methods the audience will be more cooperative in accepting Islamic teachings

Abstract

This article aims to explore the role of Al-Afw in mitigating cancel culture. in the perspective of At-Tabari's interpretation of QS. Ali-Imran: 134, focusing on the verse by offering an ethical response to the practice of cancel culture. This study uses a qualitative method through library research on the text of the Qur'an, At-Tabari's interpretation of Jami' al-Bayan, and contemporary scientific literature on cancel culture. The results of the study indicate that cancel culture can cause social problems in the form of ostracism and public punishment that are often carried out without providing space for clarification and forgiveness. Therefore, mitigation of cancel culture can be done by prioritizing the value of forgiveness that opens up space for social reconciliation, avoiding intolerant attitudes, and building harmony and civilized social justice. In this context, Islamic teachings through QS. Ali-Imran: 134, as interpreted by At-Tabari, emphasize the importance of the value of forgiveness (Al-'Afin) and restraining anger as an attitude to reduce destructive cancel culture. This study emphasizes the importance of building a culture of forgiveness in modern digital society to create a more just, empathetic, and civilized social harmony. At-Tabari's interpretation provides a strong foundation for formulating Islamic public ethics that are able to respond to contemporary moral challenges in a wiser and more humane manner

Abstract

In the digital era, Instagram has become an influential space for the dissemination of Hadith, yet it is often trapped in rigid textual interpretations. The phenomenon of “sweeping-the-road clothing” (garments that trail until they touch the ground) for Muslim women has become a polemic as the ideality of the Hadith text clashes with the reality of infrastructure, hygiene, and transportation safety in Indonesia. This research aims to unravel the contradictions between the Hadith text (matn) regarding the recommendation to lengthen clothing and the reality of its application in digital public spaces, as well as to identify audience reception patterns toward such content. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. Primary data are sourced from posts by the Instagram accounts @cahaya_peradaban, @mahasiswa.salaf, and @fiqihwanita_. The analysis uses Stuart Hall’s Encoding-Decoding reception theory to map the reading positions of netizens. Research findings reveal a misalignment of understanding caused by the dominance of literalism in the presentation of Hadith and the neglect of Indonesia’s geographical context, which is humid and carries a risk of wet impurity (najis). Netizen responses are categorized into three positions: 1) Dominant-hegemonic, where the Hadith is accepted textually as a standard of piety; 2) Negotiated, where the principle of covering the awrah is accepted but practical adaptations are sought, such as wearing socks; and 3) Oppositional, which rejects the application of the Hadith as it is considered irrelevant and hazardous to safety in the Indonesian environment. This study emphasizes the importance of contextualization and comprehensive Hadith commentary (sharh) in digital da’wah to ensure religious messages remain relevant, hygienic, and aligned with the principles of public interest (maslahah).

Abstract

This study aims to formulate the concept of Al-Qur'anic eco-theology by integrating moderate Eco-Fiqh to preserve the natural environment. The global environmental crisis demands a change in human awareness and concrete actions towards the environment. Islam offers a theological foundation through the concepts of mizan (balance) and human responsibility as khalifah, which form the basis of ecological ethics. However, the implementation of these values requires strengthening at the level of adaptive fiqh based on the principle of religious moderation (wasathiyah). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review. Data were collected by analyzing primary and secondary literature on ecotheology, Eco-Fiqh, and religious moderation. This study fills a gap in the literature that has not yet integrated Eco-Fiqh and the principle of moderation as a coherent approach to environmental preservation. The novelty of this research lies in the integrative formulation between Al-Qur'an ecotheology and moderate Eco-Fiqh, which is systematically formulated and directed towards practical implications. The results of this study are expected to enrich the moderation Eco-Fiqh knowledge base and provide practical contributions to strengthening the conservation movement based on inclusive and sustainable Islamic values.
