Abstract

Umatan wasathan is a way of forming the character of Muslims which represents various differences in beliefs between religions. Umatan wasathan has an important role in maintaining harmony, peace and tranquility so that a harmonious society can be created amidst differences. In the process of its implementation, the Umatan wasathan makes Muslims not to be excessive, to be in a middle position, not extreme right or left, but to have a moderate character that adorns the personality of every Muslim. This research discusses the Umatan wasathan in the Al-Qur'an surah al-Baqarah verse 143. This research uses a qualitative research type of literature study which is presented descriptively-analytically using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The results of the research show that the Wasathan Ummah is a people who have a moderate character which is reflected in the ability to act fairly, be balanced, and be able to implement beneficial values. Muslims are asked to be able to combine two things, namely, piety in the afterlife and worldly life. This research recommends that future researchers examine the future of Indonesian life amidst diversity and religiousity.

Abstract

This article departs from the view of some logo designers in Indonesia who avoid using images of animate beings in their designs. So this article attempts to explore the hadith of the prohibition of drawing living things contextually. On the other hand, the development of image visualization has developed in various variants, one of which is the logo as an industrial tool in the present.  This study uses the library research method, which collects data through literature study of books, notes, and reports relevant to the problem under study. The results show that there are three main reasons ('illat) that cause the prohibition of drawing animate beings: first, if it aims to match the creation of Allah SWT; second, because it resembles the actions of Ahlul Kitab; third, because the image can be a means towards shirk. Meanwhile, the purpose of creating a logo is for the identity of a business, company, or organization to make it easily recognizable, differentiate it from other entities, and as a communication tool of what it offers. Given that the reason for the prohibition of drawing animate beings is irrelevant to the function of the logo, the law of creating a logo with visualization of animate beings is permissible.

In this modern era, of course we cannot avoid technology. Increasingly advanced technology has an influence on the world of education, one of which is the science of hadith. This article aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities that arise in the use of hadith digitization in the modern era. Using the descriptive-qualitative method, the study analyzes the various media that have developed in hadith studies especially in the online and offline digital world. The results of this discussion show that the digitization of hadith has many challenges due to the easy access to hadith, one of the challenges is the easy spread of false hadith. However, among these challenges there are also opportunities and benefits of the digitization of hadith in the modern era, namely the ease of accessing hadith that used to be still in the hadith books, now changing to digital versions online or offline.

Abstract

The Qur'an, the holy book of Muslims, has been a source of wisdom and guidance for centuries. In the contemporary era, the challenge of understanding the power and beauty of Qur'anic language has never been more relevant. This article aims to unravel the mystery surrounding this sacred text, exploring how contemporary challenges arise in trying to understand and appreciate the Qur'an's linguistic uniqueness. This study uses qualitative methods. The qualitative method in this study is used to understand social phenomena in depth and detail. This method focuses more on interpretation and understanding the meaning of the data obtained, rather than measurement and hypothesis testing. The result of this study is the literary quality of the use of language in the Qur'an has a significant role in the spread of Islam among the Arab community in the seventh century, which gave birth to a special interest in the study of the Qur'an. Thus, the uniqueness of the Qur'anic language is known as Qur'anic Uslub or Stylistics. Based on several responses to the Qur'an, it can produce a unique phenomenon called “Quran in everyday life” in contemporary Qur'ānic discourse, reflecting how the Qur'an is responded to and understood beyond its textual meaning, through continuous interaction. Thus, the Qur'ān seems to come alive and merge with everyday life. The divine challenge in the Qur'ān refers to various verses that invite humans to contemplate and understand the signs of God's greatness in His creation. The implication is to encourage people to get closer to God, gain a deeper understanding of God, and take lessons from the signs in the universe. One of the verses that reflects the divine challenge is in Q.S Al-Baqarah verse 164.

Abstract

This study contains the specialty of the closing of surah al-Baqarah verses 284-286. The last verse of the closing of al-Baqarah in addition to having a message in its content, it also has its own impression for Muslims. This verse is often read during zhikr, tahlil, and often also read when finished praying. This study uses two books of tafsir, namely tafsir as-Sa'di by as-Sa'di and tafsir Shafwatut Tafasir by Muhammad Ali Ash-Shabuni. Of these two books of interpretation, when viewed from the systematics of interpretation has a difference. As-Sa'di interprets the verses one by one. While ash-Shabuni interprets by grouping these three verses, but there is a cut in verse 285 with 286, but ash- Shabuni does not bring up the theme of the group of verses. In the interpretation of as -Sa'di he interpreted by bringing up the aspect ofbalaghahn only, while in the interpretation ofash-Shabuni, he brought up munasabah, lughah, asbabun nuzul, tafsir, balaghah and faidah in his interpretation. In this case, the author is interested in further discussing these two books of interpretation related to Q.S. Al-Baqarah: 284-286 by looking at the interpretation practices carried out by as-Sa'di and Ali-Ash-Shabuni with the title Interpretation of As-Sa'di and 'Ali Ash-Shabuni. This study uses literature research method on the book Tafsir al-Karim al-Rahman fi Tafsir Kalam al-Manan by as-Sa'di and tafsir Shafwatut Tafasir by Muhammad Ali Ash-Shabuni. As-Sa'di and Ali Ash-Shabuni both explain the aspect of balaghah in their tafsir. In addition, As-Sa'di and Ali Ash-Shabuni also both explain the aspect ofmunasabah verse. When viewed from the difference, tafsir Sa'adi interprets the verse very concisely and short. In contrast to Ali Ash- Shabuni in tafsir Shafwatut Tafasir, the explanation of the meaning is ijmali and tahlili at once. Ali Ash-Shabuni also explains the munasabah of the verse, lughah, asbabun nuzul, tafsir balaghah and its faidah.
