Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of psychoeducation based on Psychological First Aid (PFA) in improving the resilience of mothers living in Jogoyudan Village, along the banks of the Code River, Yogyakarta. The research employed a pre-test and post-test design to evaluate changes in resilience levels before and after the training, involving 6 mothers residing in the Code River area. The analysis results showed a significant difference in resilience scores between the pre-test and post-test, with a p-value of 0.027 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that PFA-based psychoeducation effectively enhances resilience among mothers in the Code River area. Further analysis revealed that the more frequently PFA training was provided, the higher the levels of resilience achieved. This study offers significant practical contributions. PFA-based interventions can be implemented as an effective strategy to enhance resilience within the context of community empowerment. By incorporating this approach into community development programs, individuals, especially those living in disaster-prone areas, are expected to be better prepared to face life's challenges. This study recommends continuous PFA training to strengthen the psychological resilience of communities residing in high-risk environments.

Abstract

Psychological well-being plays an essential role in supporting adolescent development, particularly in early adolescence, which is characterized by significant changes in biological, cognitive, and socio-emotional aspects. The family environment, particularly the father's involvement, along with positive characteristics such as gratitude is believed to contribute to improving adolescent psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the correlation between father involvement and gratitude with psychological well-being in junior high school students. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study sample consisted of 184 junior high school students obtained through an accidental sampling technique. The research instruments included a father involvement scale, a gratitude scale, and a psychological well-being scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression tests. The results showed a significant correlation between father involvement and gratitude with adolescent psychological well-being. Both independent variables act as positive and significant predictors of adolescent psychological well-being, with gratitude showing a more dominant contribution.

Abstract

The development of social media and the ease of digital transactions have contributed to consumptive behavior among Generation Z, particularly through the phenomenon of fear of missing out. This study aims to examine Fear of Missing Out as a driver of consumptive behavior among Generation Z. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The participants were working Generation Z individuals aged 18 to 28 years who reside in Surabaya City. Data were collected using a Fear of Missing Out scale and a consumptive behavior scale based on a Likert format. Data analysis was conducted using a nonparametric correlation technique. The results indicate that Fear of Missing Out is significantly associated with consumptive behavior, particularly in unplanned purchasing, emotional responses to promotions, and pressure to follow trends. These findings suggest that fear of missing out functions as a psychological factor that encourages consumptive behavior among Generation Z. This study concludes that managing fear of missing out is essential in fostering more rational and adaptive consumption behavior. By addressing this psychological aspect, marketers and educators can develop strategies that promote healthier spending habits and encourage mindfulness in purchasing decisions. Future research should explore intervention methods that mitigate the effects of fear of missing out on consumer behavior, aiming to support Generation Z in making more informed choices.
