Abstract

The use of motorcycles on unstable roads, such as off-road and potholes, demands the importance of a reliable suspension system for riding comfort and safety. Conventional testing of s is often ineffective in accuracy and data recording, so this research proposes the use of an automatic measuring instrument to improve test efficiency and accuracy, allowing users to evaluate deflection in real-time and determine the optimal comfort level. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of load and brand of motorcycle on deflection value and deflection time. The research method used in this study is the experimental method, which involves a series of trials to collect empirical data related to the characteristics of the . This study uses independent variables in the form of load weight (60 kg, 80 kg, 100 kg) and brand (Aspira, Showa, Kayaba). The measured dependent variables include deflection (mm) and deflection time (s) to evaluate the performance. The results showed that load and brand had a significant effect on deflection and deflection time. Increasing load caused deflection to increase, with Aspira showing deflection of 40-42 mm at 60 kg load and 36-38 mm at 100 kg load. Kayaba had a shorter deflection time of 178.45–180.95 seconds at 100 kg load, compared to Showa's 245.45-275.75 seconds. This shows that Kayaba is more responsive in managing loads, with lower deflection and shorter deflection times than other brands, making it a more effective choice for dealing with varied road conditions.

Abstract

Automobiles are now the primary mode of transportation due to rapid technological advancements. One method for accomplishing ideal volumetric effectiveness and augment power is to change the camshaft. This study means to grow understanding in the auto world in regards to power and force and to assess the impact of changes in camshaft lift level on a 200cc limit bike utilizing pertalite fuel. The information from the review is introduced in tables and examined utilizing the two-way ANOVA technique and charts. The results of the analysis indicate that a comparison of the power data obtained by adding the lift height (test 3) yields a result of 16 66 HP at 8500 RPM. In the mean time, the force information demonstrates the way that the force examination of the three tests can be supposed to be the most elevated information of the three tests, to be specific (test 3) which is completed by adding a high lift to get a force of 17 59 Nm at engine rotation 5000 RPM. Abstract

The type of fuel is important in a vehicle. At this time there are various types with different brands with different qualities. The objective of the study is to determine the difference of quality with various types of RON 92 fuel on engine performance on a 150 CC combustion motor. The method used in this research is an experimental testing to evaluate the effect of a new treatment with one or more other groups as a comparison. The results showed that statistically using anova on power and torque testing using 3 types of fuel with RON 92 did not get a significant difference. Then the results of fuel consumption testing show different results where the fuel with brand B gets 70.3 ml / 5 minutes with 5000 rpm. The results of statistical exhaust emissions testing also get a difference with the best fuel obtained by using fuel B with the results of CO by 0.43% and HC by 69 ppm.

Abstract

Expert systems work by collecting knowledge from experts in the form of rules or knowledge bases, then using an inference engine to analyze situations and produce decisions or suggestions. Apart from that, it is often used in the fields of medicine, engineering, finance, etc., related to this, especially the process of identifying the level of stress experienced by employees in the company so that they can find out more, therefore an expert system application design is needed for identification using the method. certainty factor, based on the certainty factor which has a concept based on symptoms and diagnoses from the weight of an expert's value and the user's value, calculated using the formula in CF, the final result is the creation of an expert system application for identifying employee stress levels based on a website.

Abstract

Terminal Kaltim Kariangau is an institution engaged in port services. This study aims to analyze the loading and unloading performance in terms of the indicator of effective time compared to berthing time (ET:BT) in container loading and unloading services.This research uses data collection methods through interviewees, observations, and document studies, utilizing the interactive and qualitative data analysis model by Miles and Huberman.. The results of the study indicate that the ET:BT performance is categorized as good, in accordance with the standard set by the Director General of Sea Transportation at 70%. In 2022, the achievement of ET:BT was 70.70%, showing a slight decrease compared to 72.48% in 2021. This decrease is due to 197 out of 471 ship calls in 2022, or approximately 42%, not meeting the standard with an ET:BT value of 60.70%. Ship performance that does not meet the standard can be related to high values of NOT (Not operating time), IT (Idle Time), and waiting time for pilotage.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that affect the low volume of cargo and get the right action strategy to increase the volume of cargo of RollOn–RollOff (RoRo) Makassar-Jakarta route at PT Bumi Lintas Tama Kalla Lines. The type of data used in this research is quantitative data, namely about the main size of the ship (LOA, LBP, B, H and T), the ship's cargo capacity, the size of the ship's loading space, the number of ship decks, determining the internal and external factors that influence the handling of Roro Ferry shiploads with interviews and questionnaires and Questionnaire Forms. Using the method with the results obtained from the calculation of the load factor and the determination of the fishbone diagram factors to get the root cause of the lack of RoRo ship cargo volume. The sample in this study were 50 respondents consisting of practitioners at the Port and AMI Maritime Polytechnic Lecturers in Makassar. The results of this study indicate that the company adopts a conventional system that focuses on one side, namely incoming cargo or the Jakarta-Makassar route. In addition, the use of SWOT analysis found that the situation experienced by PT Bumi Lintas Tama is in quadrant IV, indicating an unfavorable situation with various internal threats and weaknesses. It is recommended to focus on strengthening internal strengths and overcoming weaknesses. As for its operational efficiency and performance, it should adopt a more holistic approach and consider using methods other than the fishbone method.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the energy efficiency between the use of a heater band and an infrared heater on an injection molding machine type borche bi 320T. The injection molding machine is one of the main pieces of equipment in the manufacturing process of plastic products and plays an important role in shaping various consumer and industrial products. One of the critical aspects of the operation of injection molding machines is the significant energy consumption, especially related to heating. This study was conducted by measuring the energy consumption of both types of heaters under the same operational conditions. The results showed that the energy consumption of using a band heater was 46.9 kW, while the infrared heater was 38.9 kW, significantly more energy efficient by 17.1% compared to the band heater. Although the initial installation cost of the infrared heater is 87% higher than that of the band heater, the energy savings generated from the infrared heater can reduce operating costs by approximately $39 million per year. Higher energy efficiency means lower electricity costs and, thus, more efficient total production costs. The use of infrared heaters also has a positive impact on the environment. Reduced energy consumption means reduced greenhouse gas emissions from power generation. Therefore, besides the economic benefits, the use of infrared heaters is also in line with sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.

Abstract

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology with the concept of Smart Destinations offers an innovative solution in tourism management with the aim of improving operational efficiency and tourist experience. IoT technology, which includes interconnected sensor devices and communication systems, provides the ability to unify and manage various aspects of a destination in real-time. Meanwhile, Smart Destinations use digital technology to optimize the tourist experience through personalization, resource efficiency, and desire. This article discusses the background and key benefits of IoT integration in Smart Destinations, including improving the visitor experience through data and analytics, better crisis management, and more efficient resource management. Application examples such as smart parking systems, automated energy management, and providing contextual information to tourists through sensors are described to illustrate the practical application of this technology. However, challenges such as data privacy and security, technology compatibility issues, and significant investment requirements are also discussed. In conclusion, while this integration faces several obstacles, its potential benefits in improving the quality and efficiency of tourist destinations make it a promising approach for the future of the tourism industry.

Abstract

PT X produces bottles using extrusion blow molding machines that produce EL 125-ml bottles of polypropylene borealis material. In the production process, there is a process of cutting the remaining material at the mouth of the bottle, called abfal. The separation of the abfal from the bottle mouth is still done manually by the operator before the product enters the quality control camera area. This research is experimental, comparing the pressure parameters and blow pin time with the thickness of the abfal mouth using an optical profile projector measuring instrument. In the variation of pressure parameters to the thickness of the abfal mouth, the thinnest occurred in the variation of blow pin pressure fast 80 kg/cm² and blow pin pressure slow 70 kg/cm² by 0.085 mm, and the size of the thickest abfal mouth occurred in the variation of blow pin pressure fast 60 kg/cm² and blow pin pressure slow 50 kg/cm² by 0.195 mm. In the variation of time parameters to the thickness of the abfal mouth, the thinnest occurred at a blow pin time of 1.4s by 0.085 mm, and the size of the thickest abfal mouth occurred at a blow pin time of 1.2s amounting to 0.195 mm. The results showed that the thickness of the abfal mouth is thinner if the pressure and time of the blow pin are given greater, and vice versa, if the pressure and time of the blow pin are given smaller, then the size of the abfal mouth is thicker

Abstract

The brake block in the railway bogie system is an important component in supporting the operational safety of trains, so it needs to be inspected to determine its performance and service life. A simulation-based study was conducted to predict the wear rate of railway brake block with oriented braking force (F = 25.66 kN - 29.54 kN) and different material types, namely grey cast iron with hardness 170 HBN and metallic composite with hardness 90 HRR. The method of the study was carried out by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation and calculating the wear rate with the Archard wear equation to measure the comparison of the amount of wear volume that occurs on the two materials. The results of the braking ability calculation can be concluded that the different types of brake block materials can affect the ability to decelerate during the deceleration process, causing differences in stopping mileage according to the type of material, such as gray cast iron (μ = 0.30) which has an average mileage of 15 metres and metallic composite (μ = 0.21) has an average mileage of 66 metres. The wear simulation results obtained are that the grey cast iron brake block has an average wear rate of 2,8285e-08 /s which is greater than the metallic composite which is only 1,5391e-08 /s. With this data, it can be concluded that oriented to the braking force load, the metallic composite brake block material has the advantage of a longer service life than grey cast iron.
