Abstract

Vibration in the vehicle body is an important factor that needs to be considered when using a vehicle. This is important because vibration can affect driving comfort and safety, both for the driver and passengers. The less vibration there is, the more comfortable the vehicle is to drive and ride. The aim of this research is to determine the variation of the coil spring on vibration speed. In this research, the approach used is quantitative with an experimental type. The independent variables include variations in coil spring diameter, namely 9 mm, 11 mm, and 13 mm, as well as coil spring length, namely 130 mm, 180 mm, and 230 mm. The dependent variable analyzed is vibration speed. Data was obtained using a coil spring load test tool and a Vibration meter to measure vibration speed. The research results show that the interaction between the diameter and length of the coil spring influences the vibration speed. The highest vibration speed was found in the coil spring with a diameter of 9 mm and a length of 230 mm, while the lowest vibration speed occurred at a diameter of 13 mm and a length of 130 mm. An interaction with a diameter of 13 mm and a length of 130 mm indicates the optimal coil spring size.

Abstract

The heading machine is a critical type of machine used in the production of header tubes. If a failure occurs during the production of header tubes, the product cannot proceed to the next process and must be discarded. However, this machine frequently encounters component failures that require halting the machine for repairs, which is detrimental to the company. This research aims to enhance the machine's reliability by identifying the critical components and scheduling appropriate maintenance based on the heading machine's needs. The research method used is RCM, which includes collecting data on machine downtime and repairs, creating an FMEA table, identifying critical components, calculating TTF and TTR, determining component distribution patterns, establishing parameters, calculating the reliability of critical components, and scheduling maintenance. The research findings identified the critical components as conical spring for orifice and jaw for thread. The calculation of the reliability value using the Weibull distribution equation with scale and shape parameters for the conical spring for orifice components are 1001.78 and 1.12285, respectively. For the jaw for thread component, the scale and shape parameters are 532.083 and 1.33233, respectively, based on values derived from statistical software. As a result, the maintenance schedule should be set when the reliability value of the conical spring for orifice and jaw for thread reaches 0.5 at (t) 720 hours or 30 days, and (t) 390 hours or 17 days, respectively.

Abstract

Various problems that occur in asphalt damage in Indonesia have triggered new innovations to deal with existing problems, one of which is by improving the quality of asphalt by adding substances (additives) or substitutions to the aggregate composition. This study aims to determine the utilization of inner tube rubber waste and the use of candlenut shell ash as a substitute filler in the AC-WC mixture. This study is an experimental study. The manufacture of test objects using an AC-WC mixture with a total of 18 test objects was then tested using the Marshall method. The results of this study indicate that the use of inner-tube rubber waste and candlenut shell ash greatly affects the Marshall parameter value. With an Optimum Asphalt Content of 6%, the best variation content was obtained at 3% of inner tire rubber additives and 25% substitution of candlenut shell ash as filler with a density value of 2.341 gr/cm3, VMA 15.50%, VIM 4.36%, VFA 71.87%, stability 1730.79 kg, flow 3.36 mm and MQ 565.01 kg/mm ​​which meets the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications Revision 2.

Abstract

Lightning overvoltage is a periodic overvoltage caused by external causes. An arrester is equipment that protects installations from overvoltage disturbances due to lightning strikes or electrical surges. The transformer functions to distribute electrical power by increasing or decreasing the voltage at the substation. This research focuses on substation equipment, namely the type 3EP 2150-2PL3 arrester connected to a 100 MVA IBT Transformer. Good protection is obtained if the arrester is placed as close to the transformer as possible. Therefore, this distance is determined so that protection can take place properly. The distance between the arrester and the transformer used at the Keramasan 150 KV substation is 5 m. while from the calculation results it is 22.5 m. based on SPLN 7: 1978 that for a 150 kV system the distance between the lightning catcher and the transformer does not exceed 80 m. This means that the distance between the arrester and the 100 MVA IBT Power Transformer is still within the limits set by PT PLN. The continuity of the spark that occurs in the arrester is still within safe limits and in accordance with mathematical analysis.

Abstract

A game is a game that aims to entertain and has an implicit meaning in it. A person can get entertainment by playing games as a medium of entertainment. This environment criminal case game presents a game with the theme of environmental damage with a casual genre of investigating the causes of environmental damage. With the presence of this game, it is hoped that players will understand the implied meaning so that they can participate in protecting the environment in accordance with the theme of this game. The method used is design thinking with five stages, namely Empethize, Define, Idea, Prototype and Test.

Abstract

 Fires can occur at any time, therefore a mechanism is needed to evacuate the building in the event of a disaster. Generally, public facilities provide instructions and evacuation routes for exiting the building. PT. PCC has its headquarters in Australia. As for PT. PCC also opened a new factory located in Gresik Regency, East Java. The new factory does not yet have adequate fire evacuation routes. Even though inside the building there are materials and equipment that are flammable. Based on this, this research aims to design fire evacuation routes in PT buildings. PCC Gresik. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research. The method that the author applies is the Djikstra Algorithm to determine the shortest proposed route. The design of the evacuation route has 2 gathering points, namely at the front and back. There are 22 evacuation route signs, 6 exit signs, 2 gathering point signs, 2 emergency telephone signs and 10 Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) signs. Evacuation route signs, exit signs and Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) signs are planned to be installed on the walls. Assembly point signs and emergency telephone signs are installed on poles.

Abstract

Caliper is an important thing in a vehicle, because at this time there are many caliper brands from domestic and foreign manufacturers with different qualities. Caliper quality affects braking performance. So it takes a caliper that has the best braking performance, many automotive manufacturers introduce calipers with different brands such as domestic or foreign brands, which are no less good quality with original products. The purpose to be achieved in this study is to determine the effect of differences in the type of standard caliper with racing caliper on braking distance and braking time of Scoopy 110 CC motorcycle in order to get which caliper gets better braking performance. The results of the study obtained an average decrease in braking time of 6.27% at a speed of 20 km / h, 6.4% at a speed of 40 km / h, and 6.63% at a speed of 60 km / h and an average decrease in braking mileage of 6.14% at a speed of 20 km / h, 6.24% at a speed of 40 km / h, and 6.34% at a speed of 60 km / h.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive quantitative study that calculates and analyzes the effect of recruitment, selection, and job placement on employees at PT Excellence Qualities Yarn. The sample used was 79 respondents with non-probability sampling technique. The data processing method uses multiple linear regression analysis with the F test, T test, and R square test as a statistical research method using SPSS 23. The results showed that there was a simultaneous influence between recruitment, selection, and job placement variables on employee performance. As well as partially obtained that the variables of recruitment, selection, and job placement have a significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

PT. ABC is a company engaged in the production of ready-to-wear clothing. The main raw materials use fabric from various suppliers. The problem is the poor quality of the fabric raw materials and late delivery from suppliers, which has an impact on production optimization. Supplier selection is a strategic activity, especially if the supplier will supply critical items and be used in the long term. Good raw materials will produce good products. Choosing the right supplier can provide benefits for the company so that the production process runs smoothly. This study aims to determine the best supplier according to the specified criteria using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) supplier selection method in the selection of fabric component suppliers at PT. ABC. Supplier selection uses the AHP method with subjective assessment input from the company. The expectation of the final result can determine the ranking of alternatives so that it produces the best supplier based on criteria that are in accordance with the company. Based on the results of processing using the AHP method, the order of criteria obtained is quality (0.6554), delivery (0.1867), and price (0.1577). The alternative selection of raw material suppliers with the highest priority is supplier X with the best score of 1.358. This shows the most optimal supplier value in fulfilling the needs of fabric raw materials according to the criteria required by the company.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the importance of applying professional ethics in civil engineering for decision-making related to safety, health, and environmental risks (K3L). This is crucial because, like other professions, civil engineering is a complex and intricate field that requires not only engineers with good technical skills but also sound decision-making abilities. The decision-making process significantly impacts the execution of infrastructure projects. Professional ethics serve as a guideline for engineers in making decisions that consider K3L. The issue is that decision-making is not solely based on technical skills but also on other soft skills such as emotional control. This study found that emotional intelligence (EQ) can influence the decision-making process of engineers. The higher an engineer's emotional intelligence, the better their decision-making regarding K3L risks. This is also related to engineers adhering to the professional code of ethics. Furthermore, good decision-making processes are expected to promote sustainable infrastructure development.
