Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the COBIT 5 framework in Information Technology (IT) governance in organizations. The main focus is to evaluate the extent to which COBIT 5 is able to improve IT management, operational efficiency, and the achievement of the organization's strategic objectives. This study uses a case study approach with qualitative methods. Data were collected through interviews with IT stakeholders, analysis of IT policy and procedure documents, and employee surveys to assess their perceptions of the effectiveness of IT governance. The assessment was carried out by comparing the implementation of COBIT 5 against the performance indicators and controls set out in the framework. This study revealed that although COBIT 5 provides a comprehensive framework for IT governance, the success of its implementation is highly dependent on managerial support, adequate training, and adjustments to the specific needs of the organization. Recommendations for improving effectiveness include strengthening training, improving internal communication, and periodic evaluation of COBIT 5 implementation. The implementation of COBIT 5 has shown substantial benefits in improving IT governance and supporting the achievement of organizational goals. However, to maximize its effectiveness, attention is needed to the aspects that influence the adoption and implementation of this framework.

Abstract

By seeing public awareness of the importance of using renewable energy for the sustainability of their children and grandchildren in the future, it has increased public attraction to sustainable and reliable home power plants. However, there are constraints in the application of sustainable home power generation systems, the integration of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries has become famous for their high energy density and long service life. However, efficient thermal management is essential to maintain performance and extend the life of these batteries. The study focused on optimizing the cooling system layout for 30V LiFePO4 batteries used in home power generation systems. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software are used to design and evaluate cooling systems. The cooling system in power generation plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safe operation of power plants. Power generation processes, whether they involve fossil fuels, nuclear energy, or renewable sources, typically generate a significant amount of heat that needs to be managed effectively

Abstract

Technological developments and modern industrial needs increasingly demand high energy efficiency in refrigeration machine operations. In this context, the development of a more efficient cooling machine control system is very necessary. Portable cooler boxes using Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) technology are an innovation to improve the quality and durability of fish caught by fishermen in Surabaya. This research aims to design and test a cooler box that can maintain low temperatures for a long time. This research method uses experimental methods, a series of tools and uses two test plans, namely: static and dynamic testing. The components used are three Peltier elements supported by a 12V 54A power supply, a 10K NTC temperature sensor, and a passive thermal regulator heatsink with fan. Precision testing data on the comparison sensor (thermodigital), obtained an average value of 3.75%. The error value is still categorized as a safe difference value and the tool works according to its function. Test data shows that the Cooler box can maintain a temperature between 5°C to 10°C, this temperature is ideal for slowing down the process of fish spoilage. Testing was carried out by integrating an Arduino Nano for real-time temperature monitoring which is displayed on the LCD and stored on a MicroSD. Test results show that this cooling system is effective in maintaining a stable temperature under various conditions of use, with an electrical energy consumption of 3111.38Wh per 6 hours.

Abstract

Toko Sehati is a business in selling leather shoes and bags. The decline in Toko Sehati sales was caused by reducing buyer interest due to the addition of new suppliers, from A and B, to A, B, C, D, E. The study aims to determine the appropriate shoe and bag supplier using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and MAUT (Multi Attribute Utility Theory) methods. This study used the criteria of time, price, service, flexibility, and quality. Based on the AHP method, it shows that the weight of the time criteria is 0.053, price 0.113, service 0.162, flexibility 0.209, and quality 0.462. Calculations using the AHP method indicates that the highest value at supplier C with a value of 0.454, supplier A with a value of 0.199, supplier B with a value of 0.192, supplier D with a value of 0.111, and supplier E with a value of 0.040. Meanwhile, the calculation using the MAUT method shows that the highest value for supplier C with a value of 0.916, supplier A with a value of 0.810, supplier B with a value of 0.662, supplier D with a value of 0.643, and supplier E with a value of 0. The recommended supplier order based on calculations using a combination of the AHP and MAUT methods is supplier C, A, B, D, E.

Abstract

Palm fronds are solid waste from oil palm plantations that contain a lot of natural fibers. One of the utilization efforts that can be done is to optimize palm frond fiber waste into composite materials. The use of natural fiber mixtures in composites has produced stronger materials, which can serve as alternative materials for car bumpers. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the value of impact toughness, tensile strength, and the type of failure that occurs in the fracture cross section. In this study, composites were made using palm frond fibers and polyester resin. The volume fraction variation applied is 30% fiber and 70% matrix with fiber lengths of 20 mm, 40 mm, and 60 mm. Impact toughness testing refers to ASTM E23 standard and tensile strength testing refers to ASTM D638 standard. The impact toughness value obtained in the 20 mm variation was 0.0065 J/mm², 40 mm was 0.0108 J/mm², and the 60 mm variation had the highest value of 0.0164 J/mm². The tensile strength value obtained in the 20 mm variation is 6.18 MPa, the 40 mm variation is 8.26 MPa, and the 60 mm variation has the highest value of 16.45 MPa. Analysis of the fracture cross section is categorized as a splitting fracture in multiple areas and the fracture cross section also shows the occurrence of fiber pull out after the fracture.

Abstract

Renewable Energy Sources (NRE) must be used properly, as an effort to reduce the energy crisis and the impact of pollution. One of them is by developing Micro Hydro Power Plants (PLTMH). The type of turbine that has the potential to make PLTMH on rivers in Indonesia is a screw turbine. The purpose of this study is to find out the performance of PLTMH with a screw turbine using variations in pulley diameter ratios, namely 1:1, 3:2, 2:1, and 3:1. The results of this study show that the ratio of pulley diameter affects the performance of PLTMH in generating electrical power. The results obtained by the diameter ratio of 2:1 get maximum performance on each load on the generator with the generator power produced. The lowest results were obtained at a 1:1 diameter ratio variation on each load on the generator.

Abstract

The use of steel in industry continues to increase until now making it the material most often used in transportation equipment such as cars, ships and trains. Steel is used in the transportation construction industry, steel materials are often used for railway axle construction. Hardness values ​​were taken using the Vickers micro test, and wear using a taber abrasive tool. Based on this background, research will be carried out "The Effect of Gas Pressure in the Thermal Spray Aluminum (TSA) Process on the Hardness and Wear Resistance of ST-60 Steel". This research uses medium carbon steel material with a coating process via TSA. The resulting layer is expected to have better hardness and wear values. The research method used in this research is the experimental method. The experimental method is a method used to test the effect of a treatment on the object under study by comparing when treatment is carried out and without treatment. This research carried out tests on 15 test objects. The substrate material used is ST 60 steel. In the thermal spray process three variations of gas pressure are used, namely 3 Bar, 6 Bar, and 9 Bar. Hardness values ​​were taken using the Vickers micro test, and wear using a taber abrasive tool. The highest average value of layer wear occurred at a pressure variation of 4 Bar with a layer thickness of 0.00859 mm2/kg. The lowest average layer wear value occurred at a pressure variation of 3 Bar with a wear value of 0.00729 mm2/kg. Meanwhile, based on coating layer thickness testing, the highest average layer thickness value occurred at a pressure variation of 4 Bar with a layer thickness of 423.854 µm. The lowest average layer thickness value occurred at a pressure variation of 3 Bar with a layer thickness of 241.505 µm.

Abstract

Brake linings are an important component in the vehicle braking system, but the use of hazardous materials such as asbestos causes environmental pollution. This research aims to analyze the effect of water hyacinth fiber content in composites with Cu-Zn and MgO fillers on brake lining wear and hardness, as a more environmentally friendly alternative. The experimental method was used with variations in the composition of water hyacinth fiber: brass powder: magnesium oxide powder: epoxy resin of 10%:40%:20%:30%, 15%:40%:20%:25%, 20%:40%: 20%:20%, and 25%:40%:20%:15%. The manufacturing process involves a compaction pressure of 2 tons for 10 minutes and sintering at a temperature of 200°C for 30 minutes. Vickers hardness testing refers to the ASTM E384 standard and wear testing refers to the ASTM G99-95a standard. The results showed that the highest hardness was obtained with a composition of 10% water hyacinth fiber (245.26 Kgf/mm2), with a composition of 15% water hyacinth fiber (240.88 Kgf/mm2), with a composition of 20% water hyacinth fiber (215.84 Kgf /mm2), and a water hyacinth fiber composition of 25% (194.48 Kgf/mm2). The lowest wear test results were at a composition of 10% water hyacinth fiber (0.00212 mm²/kg), at a composition of 15% water hyacinth fiber (0.00242 mm²/kg), at a composition of 20% water hyacinth fiber (0.00295 mm²/kg), and with a composition of 25% water hyacinth fiber (0.0031 mm²/kg). This shows that increasing the percentage of water hyacinth fiber can reduce the hardness value and increase brake lining wear.

Abstract

This paper aims to evaluate the efficiency of screw compressor UP5- 15-10 used at PT XYZ. Screw compressor efficiency is a key factor in the operation of gas processing facilities, then a good understanding of screw compressor operation can improve operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption. The compressor used in this KKW is an Ingersoll Rand UP5-15-10. The UP5-15-10 compressor is used to power pneumatic tools and instrumentation equipment. The UP5-15-10 compressor is included in the rotary type positive displacement compressor, the compressor uses ambient air as its working fluid. UP5-15-10 screw compressor operation, including design data from the manual book and actual data such as incoming air capacity of 65 CFM at a temperature of 186 F with a pressure of 135 Psia getting a power of 13.74 kW from the power specification data of 15 kW obtained efficiency of 91%. The decrease in power in screw compressor UP5-15-10 by 9% is due to the difference in intake capacity between design and actual conditions, this is caused by process needs.

Abstract

Effective User Interface (UI) and User experience (UX) design relies heavily on good interactions between users and the system. One approach to improving the quality of these interactions is to use heuristic methods. This method allows designers to spread the usability of an interface based on certain principles, such as readability, consistency, feedback, and efficiency. This study reviews how heuristic methods can be applied to identify potential problems in UI/UX design and provide solutions to create a better user experience. By transmitting designs through heuristic criteria, designers can quickly find errors that may not be visible in conventional trials, thereby accelerating system improvement and refinement. In addition, user interaction analysis through this method also provides a more systematic guide to designing UI/UX that is responsive to user needs, both visually and functionally. This study highlights the importance of using interactive heuristic evaluation in the product development cycle to ensure optimal user experience quality. The results of applying this method show increased navigation efficiency, better user engagement, and decreased user error rates.
