Abstract

The study aimed to determine the viability and vigor of rice seeds harvested by farmers. The study was conducted in April 2025 in Pare Kranggan Village, Temanggung, by taking several samples of dry rice harvested by farmers. The samples were dried and then tested for viability and vigor. Each seed was placed in a petri dish containing 100 seeds and replicated three times. This study was designed using a Completely Randomized Design. Observations were made for 14 days, observing seed germination (viability) and seed vigor. The results showed that seeds with a germination rate (viability) above 85% were only obtained from two sample farmers. Seed viability significantly influences the seed vigor index, with seeds with high viability also having a high vigor index. High vigor seeds are indicated by seeds with a high germination rate, namely with a vigor index above 20. One factor influencing low seed viability and vigor is that at harvest, the rice is not yet fully physiologically ripe.

Abstract

Asset forfeiture in corruption is an important legal enforcement instrument that aims not only to punish perpetrators but also to recover state financial losses. Perpetrators of corruption crimes are not only individuals but also corporations, both legal and non-legal entities. The research problems in this study are: how the regulation of corporate asset forfeiture as an effort to recover state financial losses in corruption crimes is formulated and how the enforcement of corporate asset forfeiture is carried out as a means of recovering state financial losses in corruption crimes. The theories employed in this study include law enforcement theory and asset forfeiture theory. This research applies a normative juridical method with an approach based on legislation, legal doctrines and relevant case studies. The results show that corporate asset forfeiture is a strategic measure which has to be a priority in the law enforcement agenda against corruption. Although Indonesia already has several legal instruments governing asset forfeiture, in reality, the implementation is still hindered by various challenges, such as regulatory, institutional and inter-agency coordination. Law enforcement often emphasizes the ultimum remedy approach, resulting in criminal sanctions against corporations to be overlooked and replaced by administrative sanctions. In fact, criminal prosecution of corporations is not only important as the state's measure to penalize crime, but also serves to restore state financial losses through seizure and confusion of illegal profits. This study recommends strengthening regulations through the enactment of the Asset Forfeiture Bill, enhancing the capability of law enforcement officers in understanding the concept of corporate crime and establishing a special agency to handle asset forfeiture professionally and transparently.

Abstract

Differences in cultural backgrounds often create obstacles in the process of interaction between individuals. This study discusses the case of interaction between students of ethnic groups from eastern Indonesia and students of Javanese ethnicity in the Surakarta campus environment. The presence of students from eastern Indonesia in the context of higher education in Java creates a complex intercultural meeting space. Differences in values, norms, and communication styles between these two ethnic groups often create barriers to building social relationships. This study aims to identify the forms of communication accommodation strategies employed by both parties in their efforts to build effective communication. The approach used is a phenomenological approach to explore the direct experiences of informants in the process of cross-cultural interaction. The theory used is Communication Accommodation Theory to analyze how individuals adapt their communication styles to achieve mutual understanding. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews with three student informants from the eastern region and one Javanese ethnic student informant. The results of the study indicate that the most dominant communication barriers manifested in the form of differences in language style, perceptions of emotional expressions, and cultural stereotypes. The accommodation strategies employed include convergence by Eastern students as a form of adaptation to the majority culture, and divergence in the context of preserving cultural identity.

Abstract

In the digital age, social media has emerged as a dominant force in shaping public discourse. This research investigates how Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) are utilized to manage public awareness regarding viral content in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews and digital observation of five viral cases spanning social, political, environmental, and cultural issues. The study applies Agenda Setting Theory and Public Communication Theory to analyze how each platform influences users’ perceptions. Findings show Instagram is effective in building emotional engagement through visual storytelling, while X serves as a dynamic forum for fast-paced opinion exchange. The contrast in platform characteristics influences how users interpret and respond to viral issues. The study concludes that while social media plays a significant role in shaping awareness, the impact varies depending on users’ digital literacy and critical engagement. The research highlights the need for media literacy in navigating complex information ecosystems and calls for responsible communication strategies in digital spaces.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of customer service, interest rates, and security guarantees on customers' interest in savings at Bank NTT Main Branch Office (KCU) Kupang City. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to Bank NTT customers and data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that customer service has a positive and significant effect on saving interest. Interest rates also have a significant influence, this shows that the higher the interest offered, the greater the interest of customers to save. In addition, the security guarantees provided by banks make a positive contribution to the customer's decision to keep their funds. Simultaneously, the three independent variables (customer service, interest rates, and security guarantees) have a significant influence on the bound variable (interest savings). The results of this study provide important implications for the management of Bank NTT to continue to improve the quality of services, provide competitive interest rates, and ensure security and trust in banking transactions. This research is expected to be an input for Bank NTT in improving service quality, providing competitive interest rates, and providing a sense of security and trust in banking transactions.

Abstract

Parents play a very important role in the process of child personality development. The role of parents is to be aware of the child's condition and focus on understanding good examples of his character. Especially with the current rise in bullying cases, the role of parents is very important in shaping children's character so that they do not become victims or perpetrators. The reason for carrying out this investigation is the prevalence of bullying among minors, which is a serious problem and requires follow-up action. The aim of this research is to clarify the role of parents in developing children's character in responding to bullying. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Research shows that parents have a very important role in the development of a child's personality. Because, the first people who model their behavior are their parents. Parents can instill character in their children by setting an example, doing good deeds, communicating, and involving children in activities at home. Therefore, the character that parents instill in their children from an early age will make them more confident, strong and able to appear assertive in their environment. To combat bullying, parents must educate and strengthen their children to be fearless and self-confident, empowering them to choose friends at social gatherings and even to protect themselves and even seek revenge.
