The problem of this research was to find out whether using the paraphrasing strategy could improve students' listening skills in the IELTS Listening Section. The aim of the research was to find out whether the paraphrasing strategy was able to improve students' listening skills in the IELTS Listening Section. Students were taught the strategies of paraphrasing in IELTS in which students were required to know the meaning of different words such as synonyms, antonyms, knowledge of grammatical changes in active and passive sentences, changing the type of words they heard, rephrasing the main idea of what they heard, and various other strategies. The research method was class action research that applied four phases, that is: planning, action, observation, and reflection. After two cycles, it can be concluded that there was a significant improvement at the end of the second cycle. The average at the end of the first cycle was 69, while at the end of the second cycle was 81. Qualitative data also supported the increase in the students' abilities in the IELTS Listening section. Students were enthusiastic, motivated, and interested in participating in the two cycles. The criteria of success have been achieved after cycle 2, as the percentage of improvement has reached 88% of students with scores of 75% and above. Therefore, the conclusion that can be drawn is that the paraphrasing strategies have been beneficial in helping students’ ability to improve their listening skills for the IELTS. Paraphrasing strategies consequently help sudents be motivated to increase their vocabulary level and their grammatical knowledge.

Abstract

North Sulawesi Province has a strategic role in national development. As a region that has abundant natural resources, good utilization of regional potential is a prerequisite for accelerating development in the region both from an economic and other aspect. The aim of this research is to find out whether protecting the rights of clove farmers in clove cultivation agreements is very important, because there is inequality in making agreements, where farmers who need money are easily dictated to by buyers. This research uses normative juridical methods and surveys in several villages in North Sulawesi. The social theory used in this research is Behavioral Sociology, which is a science that seeks to apply the principles of behaviorism starting from psychological theory to sociological problems. The research results show that there is no maximum protection for the rights of the farming community, especially in bond agreements, there are no special regulations such as regional regulations that regulate and provide sanctions for buyers who harm farmers, where the practice is still based on agreements. There is an urgent need for oversight by local governments of bond practices and agreements, as well as firm action against purchasers. The conclusion of this research is that regional head regulations regarding clove fishing need to be immediately established so that regional governments have a legal basis for carrying out enforcement and supervision. The novelty of this research is the need to improve the supervision system for bonded laborers by village and district governments with the existence of a bonded labor recording system which is expected to provide legal certainty in engagement agreements. Supervision also includes taking action against parties who intentionally harm farmers in unilateral agreements that harm farmers.

Abstract

Conditions in Indonesia are actually inversely proportional to the existence of composers in Europe, such as; Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Listz, Schumann, Schubert, Debussy, Verdi, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, etc. The research explores Indonesian folk music which has become a source of inspiration for Jaya Suprana and Ananda Sukarlan in composing the piano composition Rapsodia. This research also prioritizes musicological studies to see their mindset in 'capturing' or manifesting Indonesian folk music which gives a 'magical touch' in their work. Research uses a qualitative approach with musicological studies. Qualitative research understands what the research subjects experience holistically and by means of descriptions in the form of words and language in a natural context. Based on the results of the musical analysis, it was found that the musical educational background they had taken for decades as well as the various musical activities they had carried out had made a big contribution in terms of considering the musical style they discussed in the musical works they composed. Ananda Sukarlan and Jaya Suprana's musical language still uses traditional musical notation, which means that all their musical ideas and ideas can still be manifested in traditional musical notation without having to provide certain symbols in the work

Abstract

Air transportation is effective, efficient, fast, safe, and comfortable transportation. The role of air transportation, especially commercial aviation, is very important in economic and social development as shown by the increase in demand for aviation services as measured by the growth of air passengers. Airports are an important means of transportation in the transportation sector. Cut Nyak Dhien Nagan Raya Airport has many facilities that support the flight implementation process and also improve services to air transportation service users, however, there is something that is an important concern, namely disruption or outages of the main electrical power source on the CCR with Type Cooper at Cut Nyak Dhien Airport. where when the main power source goes out, at Cut Nyak Dhien Airport the main electrical system at the airport will go out for eight seconds and this will disrupt flights, especially when the plane is about to take off or land, because the CCR is a vital part when there is a flight, so CCR cannot be contested. Due to the problem of damaged UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) in the CCR Room at Cut Nyak Dhien Nagan Raya Airport, it will not operate properly and smoothly when there is a problem with the electricity in the airport CCR room, because the UPS is very influential for the smooth running and security of Cut Nyak Dhien airport. The function of the UPS is to supply electrical power requirements to the load. Quality and balanced electrical power is a priority in the world of aviation. Even the slightest electrical disturbance will disrupt the flight process chain and this can result in financial losses

Abstract

Community welfare can be measured from the fulfillment of basic human needs. A healthy place to live and living environment is one of the basic needs that must be met. People's personalities can be formed and influenced by the conditions in which they live and their environment. This research aims to analyze and identify factors that support and hinder Social Innovation in managing the Social Rehabilitation Program for Uninhabitable Houses in Central Java . The main data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis. Research on social innovation in alleviating poverty in Central Java Province through the RTLH Hospital assistance program which was carried out by researchers some time ago, the results of which are the supporting factors in researching social innovation in alleviating poverty through the RTLH Hospital assistance program in Central Java Province, namely individual factors and system. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors in researching social innovation in alleviating poverty through the RTLH Hospital assistance program in Central Java Province are organizational and network factors. The organizational factor is an obstacle in this research, because there is no integrated and sustainable social work process from all community organizations in the current development of improvements to the RTLH Hospital in Central Java Province. And the network factor is another inhibiting factor in this research, because up to now the people receiving RTLH Hospital assistance have not received training programs, education or courses to increase their income. So the use of new, more modern technology to improve the welfare of their families cannot be realized in real terms by the Central Java Provincial Government at this time.
