Abstract

In the rapidly developing world of public relations. The way to spread awareness of a brand is by doing endorsements. Endorsers who were previously actresses, athletes and public figures, have now been found "pet influencers" as supporters. Uniquely, the police institution uses the services of "pet influencer" supporters. The purpose of this study is to see if there is an influence of the use of pet influencer supporters on the police institution. This study was designed as an analytical study related to the hypothesis that connects the correlation and significance between the independent variable (pet influencer) with the dependent variable (image) of the Human Resources Bureau of the Metro Jaya Police regarding the existence of idols in society. To find the answer, some data are needed that need to be tested for significance and validity. Therefore, this work uses validity and reliability tests. To analyze the hypothesis, this study uses simple linear regression analysis Anova, Coefficient, and T Test (Partial Parameter Significance) and Correlation Coefficient Test. This work also uses the Instagram platform as a basis for thinking that is the hypothesis in this work. Based on the simple linear regression test in the Coefficients table, the significance value of Music Video is 0.000 <0.05, so the novelty of this study is that Pet Influencers, which in this study are positioned as independent variables (X), are proven to be valid and reliable in influencing the Image of the Metro Jaya Police Human Resources Bureau, which in this study is positioned as dependent variables (Y).

Abstract

This research investigates the challenges faced by students in translating poetry from English to Indonesian at HKBP Nommensen University. The complexity of poetic language, characterized by symbolic meanings, figures of speech, and ungrammatical structures, significantly complicates the translation process. A descriptive qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing a poetry translation test and interviews with 20 students. The findings reveal that students predominantly struggle with lexical choices, contextual understanding, and grammatical accuracy, resulting in ineffective translations. Most participants indicated difficulties in selecting appropriate diction and understanding poetic nuances, often leading to inaccuracies. The study concludes that enhancing vocabulary and translation skills through targeted instructional strategies could improve student performance in translating poetry. Recommendations for educators and students are provided to address these challenges effectively.

Abstract

The development of technology facilitates access to information, becoming a means to convey messages to many people. One of them is film, as a popular audio-visual media that is effective in presenting messages. Making films requires ideas, concepts, and a long time to produce quality work. Many films are made every year from various sources, with various functions such as education, entertainment, motivation, and others. However, it should be noted that films can also influence the moral values of society. The conclusion of the search for moral messages, researchers found the struggle of a mother to her deaf child. The struggle carried out by the mother was to learn sign language, then with love and patience tried hard to introduce it to her child who initially refused. But in the end the child was willing to learn sign language. With the provision of sign language that the child has, the world seems wide open, he can participate in various activities, both in the deaf community and in the hearing community, even the child can have achievements as a sign language interpreter.

Abstract

The urgency of this research is to increase efficiency, transparency and sustainability in increasingly complex and challenging agribusiness supply chains. The aim of this research is to develop an integrated system that combines IoT capabilities in collecting agricultural data in real-time, AI to analyze data and provide recommendations for action, as well as security and transparency guaranteed by blockchain technology. The method used is a mixed methods approach , this approach combines qualitative and quantitative elements to obtain a deeper understanding. A qualitative approach is used to gain a contextual perspective, while a quantitative approach is used to measure performance empirically. This research uses a case study design on a sensor-based agricultural monitoring system because of its ability to provide in-depth and holistic insights. The research population consists of users and stakeholders in sensor-based agricultural monitoring systems. The sample was selected purposively to cover various aspects of the supply chain. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, surveys of system users and collection of sensor and transaction data from agricultural monitoring systems. The research results show that the integration of IoT, AI, and blockchain significantly improves operational efficiency in agribusiness supply chains. Implementation of this integrated system resulted in an increase in productivity of up to 22%, a reduction in pesticide use by 35%, an increase in water use efficiency by 30%, and a reduction in operational costs by 18%. Statistical analysis confirmed a strong positive correlation between the use of integrated technology and increased operational efficiency (R=0.85, p<0.01).

Abstract

Pontianak City is the capital of West Kalimantan Province. According to data from the General Elections Commission (KPU), it is known that in 2019, Pontianak City had a 24% abstention rate (abstentions) and 30% of the voters were first-time voters (KPU, 2022). Through a pre-research study, it was found that a significant number of young people in Pontianak City were apathetic and not interested in practical political activities, which became the main obstacle faced by the PKS of Pontianak City in implementing its communication strategies to the young sympathizers. It is known that the PKS Public Relations Team of Pontianak City uses Instagram as a communication tool to engage young sympathizers through social media. One way to shape aspirations and engage the young audience in Pontianak City to become sympathizers is through the implementation of effective political communication strategies to establish relationships with the general public, especially the younger generation (public relations). The Uses and Gratification theory, which explains the active nature of the audience in consuming media, can address this issue with five assumptions related to audience activity, audience satisfaction, media competence, audience motives, and media content evaluation. In terms of audience activity, media competence, and media content evaluation, it is considered quite good because young sympathizers have the goal of following the Instagram account @pkspontianak, which can offer activities directly involving young people and provide input and suggestions that can be implemented on the @pkspontianak Instagram account. However, in terms of audience satisfaction and motives, it is still considered less satisfactory. Further research can also gather data from the perspective of the external media environment of the institution in the development of communication strategies. This will lead to formulating strategies that enhance media competitiveness with other similar competitors

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program at SMP Negeri 4 Namohalu Esiwa through an ethnographic approach. It examines the perceptions of teachers, students, and parents regarding the program, literacy practices within the school, socio-cultural barriers, and school culture factors that support students' reading interest. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the GLS program at SMP Negeri 4 Namohalu Esiwa has not yet effectively improved students' reading interest due to limited library facilities, insufficient access to relevant reading materials, and low parental involvement in supporting students' literacy development. Furthermore, the local culture, which emphasizes oral traditions over written literacy, poses a significant challenge. Nevertheless, teacher support and literacy activities such as reading corners and a 15-minute pre-class reading period demonstrate potential for further development. This study recommends enhancing literacy facilities, providing teacher training, fostering collaboration among schools, parents, and communities, and integrating local cultural elements into the GLS program. These steps are expected to foster a sustainable literacy culture and significantly improve students' reading interest.

Abstract

This study examines the role of employee engagement as a mediator in the relationship between workplace comfort, communication, and time management on employee performance within the Provincial Government of Riau Islands. Using primary data collected through accidental sampling, the research involved distributing questionnaires via Google Forms to civil servants who met predefined criteria. The findings indicate that while workplace comfort has a limited direct impact on productivity, effective communication and time management are key factors that significantly contribute to organizational performance. Employee engagement emerged as a strong mediator in these relationships, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing performance outcomes. Theoretical contributions highlight the significant influence of time management and employee engagement in improving employee performance. From a practical perspective, the study suggests that organizations should continuously evaluate these factors and implement policies that promote effective communication, optimal time management, and a comfortable working environment to sustain and improve employee productivity. However, the research is limited to civil servants within the Provincial Government of Riau Islands, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

In this article the author offers an idea about contribution of the sociology of religion to theology. Traditional approach of doing theology often considers culture and all its elements just as an object of theological enterprise. The biblical text is the only valid and authentical source of theological reflection. As a result, people tends to underestimate the value containing in people religious expressions and experiences. The author does not accept such a view. He is of the opinion that people religious expressions and experiences must be regarded as one of authentic source of doing theology. Equal attention and honor must be given to both: biblical text and cultural text if we want to find a meaningful expression and experience of God’s love and salvation work in our daily activity. From this perspective the author throws a new light to reconsider the task of theological reflection. It is not just to repeat or to receive meaning which has alredy been formulated both in the bible and in the history of theological discussion. Theology must be understood more as an attempt to create or to make a meaning which help people in every given time. Theology is for the author has to be considered more as a meaning making exercise, not just as a meaning receving work.
