Abstract

Abstract. Pepper farming has an important and strategic role in increasing the income of the pepper plantation community in East Kolaka Regency, however, smallholder pepper plantations are still characterized by various weaknesses such as relatively narrow farming land, conventionally cultivated with low productivity and quality, and a weak position in product marketing. This study aims to examine the financial feasibility and sensitivity of pepper farming in East Kolaka District, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The designated research location is Tirawuta District as a pepper production center in the pepper plantation community in East Kolaka Regency. Sampling was carried out purposively based on the age of the plants, ie 1 to 17 years old. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis method using a feasibility analysis through the Benefit-Cost approach in PAM and sensitivity analysis. The results showed that financially, the pepper farming of plantation communities in East Kolaka Regency was feasible and profitable as evidenced by a B/C value of 1.10 and an NPV value of IDR 48,429,250.00.-. The results of the sensitivity analysis with the scenario if inorganic fertilizers are not subsidized by the government show a decrease in farmers' profits by 17,4 %, but smallholder pepper farming is still feasible to cultivate

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the impact of government regulations on the demand for hybrid corn production in Talinduka Village, Dangia District, East Kolaka Regency.  This research was conducted in June 2022 with a total sample of 36 hybrid corn farmers using random sampling method. Sampling was done simply randomly, where all farmers have the same opportunity to be used as respondents. Data analysis techniques combine a narrative research style with a quantitative approach. The Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) is used to examine how government policies affect the competitiveness of hybrid corn cultivation in Talinduka Village. The results showed that hybrid corn farming was very competitive where both private profits and social benefits were positive. This study also found that the comparative advantage and competitive advantage were seen from the DRCR value of 0.12 (<1) and PCR of 0.32 (<1), indicating that the region has a strong competitive advantage in hybrid maize cultivation.  Although government regulations have affected the ability of the Talinduka Village Hybrid Corn farmers to compete, this has not effectively protected the farmers because the Talinduka Village hybrid maize farmers receive fewer personal benefits than they would have received without government policies.

Abstract

Demand for hydroponic vegetables are increasing, especially urban areas, including Kendari. This is because vegetables grown hydroponically have advantages: they are environmentally friendly, the production produced is hygienic, plant growth is faster, the quality of crop yields can be maintained and the quantity can be increased. This study aims to analyse the hydroponic vegetable marketing channel in Kendari City. The selection of respondents purposely selected on five hydroponic businesses and three traders and retailers. The results show that, there are two marketing channels, namely: Channel I from farmers - consumers; and Channel II from Farmers – collectors – market traders – consumers. Of the two channels, it is known that farmers receive the greatest profit when selling directly to consumers (Channel I), while in Channel II the highest margin is obtained by retailers of IDR 37,000/kg.

Abstract

Corn is one of Southeast Sulawesi's leading commodities with an area of 23,945 Ha with a productivity level of 28.64 tons/ha and is distributed in South Konawe Regency, Laeya District in Ombu-Ombu Jaya Village as the research area. The demand for corn for animal feed needs continues to increase while production capacity is still limited and the productivity and yields obtained by farmers are low, thus affecting the income of farmers, including those using Agrowindo type AGR-PN22 corn and grain planting equipment with a planting equipment capacity of 3, 7 kg and planting distance 22 cm, depth 3.5-7.8 cm with number of seeds 1-2 (can be adjusted). Analysis of costs and revenues is a variable in calculating farmer income. This research aims to determine the income of corn farming using planting tools (AGR-PN22) in Ombu-Ombu Jaya Village, Laeya District, South Konawe Regency. The results of the research show that the income from corn farming using the AGR-PN22 planting tool in Ombu-Ombu Jaya Village, Laeya District, South Konawe Regency is IDR 467,299,250 per planting season with an average farmer income of IDR 8,986,524 per planting season and income farmers per/ha amounting to IDR 10,867,424. The significance of the use of modern and traditional planting tools for corn plants has a significant impact on production and income, as the results of research conducted by Anugerah Fitri Amalia et al in Central Sulawesi regarding the comparison of the performance of corn and tubing planting tools on dry land in Sigi district, Central Sulawesi show that the performance of seed planters is better. higher than the tugal. Seed planters have an average theoretical field capacity of 1.92 ha/hour with a forward speed of 6.42 km/hour and an actual field capacity of 0.625 ha/hour, while in single plants the average theoretical capacity is 0.50 ha/hour with actual field capacity is 0.167 ha/hour.

Abstract

Research to determine the influence of production factors and their efficiency on rice farming of SL-PTT participants and non-SL-PTT participants and non-SL-PTT participants in North Poleang Bombana District. Carried out in May – July 2011. Samples were determined using simple cluster sampling based on villages, as many as 2 villages (50% of the village population). Respondents from each village consisted of 15 participants and 15 non-participants of SL-PTT in a simple random manner (60 samples). Analysis using multiple non-linear regression using the Cobb-Douglas function and price efficiency analysis. Research results: (a) Production Factors; Land area, amount of use of seeds, fertilizer, labor and pesticides are closely related and simultaneously influence the production of lowland rice farming (R; l 0.889 and R2 = 0.790). (b) partially, except for the number of seeds, all production factors have a positive effect, but only fertilizer has a real effect, even at a confidence level of 85%. (c) Efficiency analysis shows that the use of fertilizer, labor and pesticides is not efficient so they can still be added to improve, while seeds are not efficient.
