Abstract

This study applies Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as a qualitative method to manage occupational safety and health (OSH) risks in the production of the Frame Klentek Tebu component at PT. XYZ, an agricultural machinery company. Despite having existing OSH programs, the company continues to face high-frequency incidents of near-misses and Lost Time Injuries, mainly due to heavy machinery use, welding, and painting. The initial analysis suggests that these accidents are caused by procedural lapses and inadequate hazard identification at the task level. The JSA process involved analyzing key tasks Cutting, Fit-Up, Welding, Primer Painting, and Finishing Painting to identify hazards such as falling materials, electric shock and burns during welding, and chemical inhalation during painting. A significant finding was the non-compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), largely due to operator habits. The research proposed a control hierarchy, prioritizing Elimination (e.g., chamfering sharp edges, replacing forklifts with automated conveyors) and Engineering Controls (e.g., proper grounding systems, installing barriers). This JSA serves as an essential tool for embedding safety into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring business continuity, and creating a safer work environment at PT. XYZ.

Abstract

Transportation technology continues to evolve to support environmentally friendly energy use, with battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs) becoming one of the most widely adopted innovations. The Battery Management System (BMS) plays a crucial role in monitoring battery conditions. The design of an informative and user-centered dashboard becomes essential. This study presents the development of an informative EV dashboard by integrating HMI with BMS using the Design Thinking methodology. User needs were identified through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and mapped using an empathy map, revealing essential information requirements such as State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), estimated range, navigation, and a simple, intuitive visual display. The ideation stage with the innovation canvas produced relevant feature concepts. The prototype was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving 20 respondents, resulting in an average score of 76.25, categorized as “Good” and acceptable. The findings indicate that the dashboard is easy to use and helps drivers better understand vehicle conditions. Overall, this research demonstrates that Design Thinking is effective in developing user-friendly dashboards that integrate HMI with BMS, thereby enhancing EV usability and supporting the acceleration of EV adoption in Indonesia.

Abstract

Analyze potential hazards or risks in the work environment of a company to take handling actions and anticipate them. In this problem, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) is considered an appropriate tool in identifying risks because it is able to identify hazards that occur in companies or the potential for work accidents in pipe test activities in mobile bunkers. The method used in this study to analyze work accidents is HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) because this method is able to raise the potential for accidents in the workplace. The purpose of this study is to determine the type of work accident that is dominant in pressure test treating iron activities with bunker pressure test fabrication. Based on the results of HAZOP analysis, this study shows that the most common potential danger is the use and condition of non-standard hammers that cause splashes and hit the eye to irritate. While the potential hazard that has the highest risk with the result of death is Treating iron rupture on workers. Then the operational cost of pipe tests is much more economical using mobile bunker tests. While the operational costs of pipe testing in mobile bunkers are more economical, more effective, work safety is higher and the potential hazards are lower than operational costs in permanent bunkers. Then the existence of mobile bunkers is more efficient in pipe testing activities than testing in conventional bunkers.

Abstract

Sempe Arumanis, a small and medium enterprise (SME), operating in Yogyakarta and producing Sempe Arumanis, faces supply chain risks such as inaccurate orders, late supplies, and damaged raw materials. Therefore, risk management is needed to identify and mitigate the risks present in the SME. Therefore, risk identification is necessary to minimize these risks. The House of Risk (HOR) method is used to identify risks and take preventive measures. The results of the analysis revealed three high-frequency risks faced by Sempe Arumanis small and medium enterprises: a lack of historical data or accurate information, dependence on a single supplier, and restrictions on raw material purchases that disrupt operations and customer satisfaction. Risk management measures include seeking more than one supplier, routinely checking stock, labeling shelves, negotiating contracts and inventory, conducting quality checks before shipment, training in quality control, communicating between sales and warehouse teams, and implementing an integrated system.

Abstract

Inventory management in retail environments such as Galeri 1 ITERA faces significant challenges due to fluctuating and irregular demand patterns, which often lead to stockout and overstock conditions. This study proposes an integrated inventory analytics system that combines ABC classification, demand forecasting using Artificial Neural Network (ANN), safety stock (SS) and reorder point (ROP) calculation, as well as interactive dashboard visualization to support data-driven inventory decision-making. The research methodology consists of: (1) ABC analysis to determine inventory control priorities for 56 products; (2) demand forecasting using ANN models trained on historical sales data; (3) calculation of safety stock and reorder point based on forecasting results and lead time variability; and (4) development of an analytics dashboard using Microsoft Power BI. The proposed ANN model utilizes a multilayer feedforward architecture capable of capturing nonlinear demand patterns. Forecasting performance was evaluated using WAPE, RMSE, and MAE metrics. The results indicate that 24 category-A items (42.9%) contribute to 79.45% of the total inventory consumption value, highlighting the need for tighter inventory control. The ANN forecasting model achieved an average accuracy of 88.72% with an average WAPE of 11.28%, while most products showed stable MAE and RMSE values below 2.5 units. Forecasting outputs were subsequently integrated into safety stock and reorder point calculations, producing dynamic inventory control parameters ranging from 3–209 units for safety stock and 3–296 units for reorder points. The main scientific contribution of this study lies in the integration of ABC classification, ANN-based forecasting, and dashboard-based predictive analytics into a unified inventory management framework for retail operations. The resulting dashboard enables interactive monitoring of inventory conditions, stock alerts, demand predictions, safety stock, and reorder point values, thereby improving the effectiveness and responsiveness of inventory control decisions.

Abstract

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) frequently face demand uncertainty and fluctuations, which complicate production scheduling and raw material planning. In the souvenir industry, inaccurate demand estimation may lead to overstocking or material shortages that disrupt production activities. This study aims to forecast the sales of souvenir goodie bags at Depouch Bag Souvenir using time series forecasting methods and to integrate the forecasting results into Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to improve production planning efficiency. This research evaluates three forecasting techniques, namely the 3-period Moving Average (MA), Exponential Smoothing (ES), and Weighted Moving Average (WMA). Forecasting accuracy is assessed using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results show that the Moving Average method produces the highest forecasting accuracy with a MAPE value of 15%, followed by Exponential Smoothing with 17%, and Weighted Moving Average with 20%. Based on these results, the Moving Average method is selected as the most appropriate model for predicting future demand. The forecasting results are then used as input in the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system to determine the quantity and timing of raw material procurement required to meet production demand. The findings indicate that integrating demand forecasting with MRP can support better inventory control and reduce the risk of material shortages in production processes. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of time series demand forecasting and Material Requirement Planning within the operational context of SMEs experiencing fluctuating demand, providing a practical approach that enhances production planning and inventory management efficiency in small-scale manufacturing environments.

Abstract

This study analyzes the workload of teachers at Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools (MIM) in Srebegan using the NASA-TLX method, the Baecke Questionnaire, and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). The respondents consisted of 19 teachers (6 male, 13 female). The results show a moderate workload based on NASA-TLX, with the lowest Physical Demand (PD) indicator aligning with the Baecke score (<7), indicating limited physical activity due to the dominance of cognitive and administrative tasks. FTE analysis indicates overload conditions for both male (1.34) and female (1.43) teachers. The difference in results between the methods confirms that workload is not only determined by teaching demands, but also by perception, experience, and additional tasks. The recommendations for this research include adding administrative staff to reduce the temporary workload and providing training for novice teachers to better prepare them for time and learning management. This effort aligns with the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 15 of 2018 and supports the improvement of education effectiveness and quality.

Abstract

The high rate of occupational accidents in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), particularly in the button map manufacturing process at PT. RR, is caused by unsafe rivet machine designs and risky work methods. This issue necessitates a feasible and integrated solution. A Methods Engineering approach was selected to combine technical and managerial interventions to create a safer working environment without sacrificing productivity. This study aims to: (1) analyze the effectiveness of rivet machine modifications in preventing accidents; (2) evaluate the impact of modified work methods on worker behavior and fatigue; and (3) measure the simultaneous balance between improved occupational safety and productivity. The research employs a mixed-methods quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The stages include: (1) problem identification and baseline analysis; (2) design and implementation of interventions; (3) participatory worker training; (4) monitoring and data collection for three months post-intervention; (5) quantitative and qualitative data analysis; and (6) evaluation and conclusion formulation. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in operational performance, characterized by a 100% reduction in work accidents (from 5 to 0 incidents), the average cycle time decreased from 21.02 seconds to 18.75 seconds, representing a 10.80% improvement in time efficiency, this indicates a 12.1% increase in productivity, rising from 1,199 units/day to 1,344 units/day. Furthermore, there was a 43.44% reduction in the defect rate, dropping from 3.20% to 1.81%, which indicates an improvement in production quality resulting from the intervention. To examine the significance of these changes, a Paired T-test was conducted. The results show a t-stat of 48.63 with a p-value < 0.001 (below the threshold of p < 0.05). These findings provide strong empirical evidence that the implemented Methods Engineering intervention had a statistically significant impact on increasing production process speed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine an appropriate inventory control policy for copper slag material by applying the safety stock (SS) and reorder point (ROP) methods at PT. XYZ. While previous studies have extensively discussed inventory control for main raw materials, this research specifically examines production support materials with highly fluctuating demand patterns in a continuous production system, which is a key novelty of this study. The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach based on historical data of material usage and kiln operational activities from January to June 2025. The results demonstrate that material consumption is directly influenced by kiln operational intensity, rather than occurring randomly. The calculation yields a safety stock of 2,106.12 tons and a reorder point of 3,511.00 tons at a 95% service level. These values serve as an operational signal to prevent stockouts during lead times without causing excessive inventory levels. This study highlights that data-driven inventory management effectively enhances production system resilience against demand uncertainty in the cement industry.
